Hi all,
For a few weeks I've been knitting a blanket for my DP and I'd love to see what other people are knitting/crocheting at the moment!

Here's the latest picture of my blanket Smile

That's lovely Carol. Great colours.

You're obviously far more advanced than me. I'm in the middle of my first knitting effort: a scarf for DS which I have mistakenly done in stockinette stitch - not knowing that this will make the scarf curly. I have to do a clever fix involving dropping stitches when it gets to the required length. If it works I'll post a picture, otherwise... Grin

I have a variety of projects on the go atm and I really should focus on getting one finished. I am currently crocheting new cushion covers for the lounge, knitting a child's jumper (this was just to try out some new wool) and today I have started crocheting a penguin from the Edward's Menegerie Birds book as Ds2 is poorly and really wants it. I'm hoping it won't take too long and will cheer him up. This weekend I think i really should try to aim to finish something.

That blanket looks beautiful CarolAird. Does your DP know you are making it, or is it for a surprise?

I will put up a picture of Ds2's penguin when it's finished.

That's lovely Carol.
I am currently on square 15 out of 100 for a knitted patchwork blanket. Started mid-January, it may get finished sometime next year!

But I also have a easy-looking parrot pattern. I just need to work out swapping the pattern colours for yarn I already have

AnnPerkins - Thank you! The lady in the shop was looking a bit Hmm at me when I had all the balls of yarn laid out on the floor infront of me. Keep going with your scarf! Even if it is a bit curly it's always fun to look back on and see how much you've improved. You could always give it to your DS anyway and say it's a curly snake Grin

Tutu1000 - I have the same problem, lots of half finished projects! The penguin sounds lovely, I hope your DS feels better soon. DP knows I'm knitting it for her (because I'm a terrible secret keeper!)

Natasha - haha! Maybe it will be finished for Christmas 2017 Grin I love patchwork blankets though, I'd like to do one with lots of different patterns on each patch. The parrot sounds brilliant!

It is a good exercise in learning different patterns! I currently have squares in garter, stocking, stocking with a garter border (and a daisy stitch circle), moss, basket weave, diamond brocade and mock-rib.

This is just the thread I was looking for.

I have finally (after 6 months) just finished my first ever crochet project, a blanket that is a bit uneven and wonky. I love it anyway!

I need to start work on a baby blanket in a different stitch but I've only kind of mastered granny squares so far.

HandbagCrazy your blanket is lovely. The colours work so well together and the slight wonkiness just adds to the charm.

I've become a huge crochet fan and started teaching myself about 5 months ago. My mum taught me to knit when I was pregnant with DC1 (now 19) but I didn't like crochet as it just seemed like something my Nanna did, now I love it.

I am currently making sunburst pattern squares with different coloured centres, but I can't decide whether to make a cushion or keep going and make a blanket.

Hello everyone and I am a knitter and a crocheter so this is a great thread for me :)

I've been sorting out all my crafting stuff and I have 9 (yes 9!!) work in progress projects. I have put all in separate net bags in a box and am determined to finish them before I start anything else. I have finished a scarf and am now half way through a little knitted all in one cardigan with a shawl collar for DGS.

Carol, this is a great thread and it lovely to see and hear about everyone's projects

Hello! I mainly knit, but can crochet a bit. I have a little home business, so lots of items on the go - a lace weight mohair flop-earned bunny hat for a photographer, a pair of men's slippers which will have a bison hide some and a pair of honeycomb mittens, to name a few. I've also just finished these monster pants

Tutu thank you. I am rediculously proud of it!

Is it mad to have an urge to make a Christmas garland in March? Smile

Report
itallsucks · 27/03/2016 11:58

Handbag I like that blanket, so colourful and cosy looking! It's never to early to start a Christmas garland Smile

I'm a crocheter and currently have 4 projects on the go, I have a death star cushion I need to just do the line thingys on, a metered square baby blanket for a friend that I'm half way through...need to get more wool for it, a dog teddy that I need to finish the body on and join together and a hexagon blanket that needs another 18rows of hexagons joined. I need to get them all finished so I can make my son a storm trooper blanket!

There's always so much I want to do but never seems to be enough time.

I've just learned to crochet and have a scarf on the go. I'm a knitter and have been very pleasantly surprised to see how fast it's growing. I'm knitting a cardigan for my dd, one more sleeve to go - but it's been a year in the making so I'm hoping it'll still fit!

Ooh Hillbilly I like that. Where is it published? I'd like to make that as a baby blanket for my nephew. If anyone has used Drops Muskat I'd like to know how they found it. I started a thread about it but there is tumbleweed in there... GrinGrin

I'm working on a Primavera blanket for a friend's DD who is off to uni this Autumn. I'd post pictures but I only started it this evening and just have a dozen middles to show for my efforts.

Woolly the pattern comes from redheart.com but if you google flowers in a row you'll find it in other places too. I'm using sublime extra fine merino wool dk and size 4.5 hook. I only discovered crocheting last year and I'm completely addicted Smile

Working on a chunky mitred square throw for my sofa. I love simplicity of the individual square making whilst watching the to and then wipping them together at the end of the week and see it grow. This is a photo from the first session of sew together. I think I'm up to 35 squares completed now

Here is my effort, then. It's still quite curly, despite the ribbing. DS is modelling it under protest, he says it's too itchy to wear. Ah well, it's too warm for woolly scarves now anyway. Maybe his neck will have toughened up by next Winter...

How's your blanket going CarolAird?

It's great seeing everyone's work, some lovely stuff on here.

Some beautiful projects here, and I LOVE those monster trousers!

I learnt to knit a couple of years ago, and have just started a wraparound cardigan for DD. I've only done hats and scarves before, so this is a step up for me; I'm hoping the instructions will make more sense as I work through them than they do now... Confused

Will post pattern and progress pics when I'm home.

Good luck Error404. I know what you mean about the instructions. DS wants me to knit him a Ron Weasley jumper, which looks quite simple but I can't get my head round all the instructions yet.

I've got 10 plus projects on the go at the minute, including a mitre square blanket, a pair of socks and three cardigans They'll all be done...eventually.
I've just finished a beaded wrap and I've been on a toy kick at the moment too.

I made a unicorn for DD :)

Apart from that, I've finished nothing much recently. Oh, I did finish a round blanket that caused me no end of tears and swearing but I don't have a good photo of that.

I do love looking at what others have been doing :)

I want that unicorn, it is so cute!!! And that wrap is stunning. I'm very envious of all the skill on this thread.

I was going to post a pic last night of what I'm working on (with the pattern, as I've only done a few rows so not much to look at yet), but then wine and crap telly happened...
