September 1st... Pounds and inches... Back on it, who is in??

MissFitt68 · 31/08/2015 22:56

That's it now, the fun is over! I'm not feeling or looking my best. I've slipped up and fallen off the healthy wagon

So I'm jumping back on!!

Tomorrow morning I will restart the eating ( low carb I think) and will take my measurements ( for when the pounds dont budge, the inches usually will)

30 minutes minimum exercise daily.... Yes, let's MAKE time. It's an episode of emmerdale/eastenders

Weigh in and measuring on Saturday mornings

Done this before, lost 5 stone.... Put 2 back on. It's NOT staying!

Anyone want to join in? Have had these monthly threads in the past and had some great success

Ooh I'll join you. Feel all flabby after summer hols but haven't dared go near the scales yet!

I am in. Lost 10lbs before the summer and put most of it back on after a shedload of cheese and wine. Yum.

I'll be using MFP and just trying to do my 30 mins a day exercise whilst working on rehab for my middle-aged back.

1.5 - 2 stone to lose, I think.

Good point about measurements - I haven't done that before. I'll give it whirl.

Hello!!! I'm excited about this! I do better with autumnal eating than summery salads!

Excellent point...MFP, I love using that app. Recommend it if you don't have it already

Measurements.... I measure bust/waist/hips/fattest part of each arm/widest part of each thigh. Going to make a chart/spreadsheet tomorrow to keep me motivated.

I'll weigh tomorrow morning. Also measure BMI/visceral fat. Then decide on a goal but think it will be 3 stone. Going to aim for Christmas.

Only way for me is to give up alcohol totally legs otherwise I'll drink too much and eat badly.

I'm in too...I feel like a blimp after the summer holidays. I'm planning on going for a high veggie, good food, low junk and no mindless eating meal plan with plenty of exercise. I'm aiming to be able to hold a 2 minute plank by October.

I absolutely love a spreadsheet missfitt and already have one to make sure my gym usage is high enough to justify the fee. I'm a science geek so will be in metric units of measurement.

Quick question-how do you measure visceral fat?

Report
MissFitt68 · 01/09/2015 00:13

It's on my scales, so does it automatically. How accurate it actually is I'm not sure. But my personal trainer friend has the same scales and I trust her to know her stuff so I copied her and bought some

It kind of has handles you hold and sends short electric pulses through your body to measure the fat in there

I'm thinking about my weaknesses. I 'go wrong' after work when I'm really hungry, that's when I'm likely to grab the wrong thing. Need to plan better and have something to good ready for after work

Baking..... I like to bake for the kids.

I'm thinking about my weaknesses. I 'go wrong' after work when I'm really hungry, that's when I'm likely to grab the wrong thing. Need to plan better and have something to good ready for after work.

That is my exact problem! I really like cooking and I actually really like healthy food but easy lazy takes over when I'm tired. I'm going to try batch cooking things like chilli so I can just heat them up with fresh rice/pasta and chop up lots of vegetables in one go so they can go straight into stir frys without any effort.

My scales is a boring one but yours sounds very clever! Even if the actual number isn't particularly accurate tracking the changes will tell you if you're losing fat.

I'm actually feeling pretty motivated. I love s good support thread...

I will join you if that's ok. Been a member of WW online for the last 2 months but yet to actually start. Have chosen WW as I know it works for me, dropped a couple of stone for my wedding on the plan then went on to lose the baby weight from DC1 with it. I am struggling with a 3 & a half stone gain after DC2 who has just nicely turned 2 so I can't put this off any longer.

I am quite active already as do three classes at the gym a week but alway looking for ways to add more exercise in.

Setting myself a 100 day challenge starting today to stick to plan (and also declutter the house) just in time for christmas.

So we are ready? Today's the start! Going to do my weigh in

Then I'll know how much I'll need to lose.

I'm in! It has been a lovely summer but I feel uncomfortably bloated now. I want to lose 3 stone - again!

Welcome grumpy !

Well it's grim weather here today, doesn't inspire me to go out to exercise at all! Need to go out later tho, I'll make a shopping list first and stock up on veg and meat.

Hi, Can I join you. So far this year I've lost two stone in weight but over the summer holidays I've put a couple of pound back on. I've another two and a half to go to reach a healthy weight. So I am back to it today.
My plan is just three meals a day ( calorie counting using mfp), a snack, no alcohol and an hours exercise every day (long dog walk).
I did a couple of weeks of the shred over the summer hols but I don't know if I can fit that in with everyone back to school this week.

I like autumn - almost feels like the start of a new year to me.

I'm in! Lost 10lb since June but still feel too squishy around the middle and another 5lb or so would be perfect, I reckon. I'm 9st 3lb at the moment (am a short arse so every ounce shows :(), I I don't think I'll shift 5lb in a month but to hit 9st by the end of September would be great.

I'm using MFP and doing the Shred most days. Have pretty much given up the booze apart from the odd occasion when I always feel terrible the day after - a good incentive to steer clear!

Hi everyone, think I will join too. I have around 10lbs to a stone to lose so not massive amounts but enough. I have autoimmune thyroid disease so find it very hard to lose weight, luckily I don't gain much either, just seem to hover around the same weight all the time.
I really need to start exercising again too it's been a good 16 months since I did any. It needs to be short, low impact and strength building any ideas?

I went out for a 15minute walk this morning so feel that was a good start.
I got weighed and measured myself yesterday morning so will take that as my starting point.

Report
patterkiller · 01/09/2015 09:37

ELR are you me? I've an under active thyroid it's a buggar and want to lose 10-14lbs. But mostly tone up. I was cycling loads earlier this year and loved my legs feeling strong and had actual muscle. But six weeks of back problems has put me right off my game.

So I'm MFP food, walking dogs, not just talking a ball to wear them out. And try to get bike fit on the elliptical at home. All still dependent on my shitty back.

I might give 5:2 another go as I did lose 7lb over a few months last year. But that will be next week when dcs are back at school, I can't face it while having to be nice.

patterkiller · 01/09/2015 09:41

Oh yes and give up the booze meg that is a weak point for me. No wine and maybe a couple vodka slimline tonic on a Saturday if I fancy.

I'm joining.
I'm 14st and am 5ft5, size 18.
I'm sick and tired of being the fat one.
I want to be confident.
I avoid all social situations so nobody has to look at me and see my size.
I went on a proper healthy eating thing a few years ago and went from 15 to 12. Then went back up to 14, fell pregnant and when I went into hospital to have my DS (a year ago) I was 18st.
Every night after a binge of food I say tomorrow is the day I'm going to do it, and the morning comes and I scoff all food in sight.
No more. Really no more.
I'm 25 and have been overweight since around 15.
I don't still want to feel this way in another 10 years.
I want to be fit and healthy.
I want to live a long time.
I don't want my son to get teased at school for having a fat mum.
I'm not being unrealistic, I'm happy to aim for around 10 stone. That's top end of healthy BMI. If I get there, no, when I get there I can always keep going.
Going to get my treadmill back from my mum in a couple of weeks and then can jump on and off during day and try to get exercise in as difficult with DS and now working afternoons since maternity leave. We want to for another baby in about a year so need to sort myself out by then.
Sorry I'm rambling.
I can do this.
I will do this.
We will all do this.

Sounds good to me.
I am doing the dryathalon which will help, and back to work means routine and set meals at set times.

Have been MFPing for the last few days but had a pizza one day and went out for a BBQ another day so cocked that up.

Back on it today though.

I'd like to lose 3 stone too.

rattle you sound very determined and in the right mind set to succeed. I'm sure everyone will be checking in for support from each other. It's not easy.

Can I join please?

Had lost about 2.5 stone of 3.5 I had to loose, but gone into self sabotage mode over last few weeks and gained about 1/2 stone back.

New month, new motivation!
Am going dry for September, trying to walk daily. Using MFP for food.

Aiming to be about 10.5 stone for Christmas. Was 12,2 this morning.

Good luck all!

MissFitt68 · 01/09/2015 10:52

mrsboat welcome!

I'm low carbing..... So not sure how I will get on with MFP and high fat but will keep logging food because eventually I'll get to the point where I'm not eating too much as I remember last time not feeling very hungry

So today's weigh in was grim. And whaddya know! After almost a year of no periods (perimenopause) guess who shows up. Well I'm carrying on Regardless.

I'm 6 feet tall
Weight...95.6kg
Bmi...29.5
Visc fat...13
Body fat....32.1

Just dropped car for mot and walked 20 mins back. Called in lidl for low carb supplies. Going to take measurements and maybe a photo

Great to see so much determination

Yikes - weighted in. 12st 10lbs / 81 kgs. I should be 11 stone or under.

Not yet exercised today. Will either do a quick jog or a Shred later.

have a niggly knee prob and a niggly hip! Keen to lose some quickly enough to help those issues so I can get back to running. This is actually a tad embarrassing!! I'm a runner.... Usually
