@Doughnut100 I can't believe what happened during your scan that is just so awful!!!! I'm crossing my fingers for both of us that the next one is much more positive. Of course not having partner there will be sad in that situation too as you would want to share that moment :(

@Avocuddles your next scan won't be long after mine, it is a long wait. Thank goodness for computer games haha! xx

Treaclepie19 · 14/04/2020 06:33

Thank you for the new thread Smile

rachelrainbow · 14/04/2020 07:15

Please can I be added to the list? 💕

@rachelrainbow (11 weeks, due 1/11/20)

Whiffle77 · 14/04/2020 08:09

Thanks @Avocuddles for the thread!

@doughnut100 that is a truly awful story, I am so sorry! Did you manage to say anything to them or were you too upset?

I feel awful today, very anxious and slept awfully because of it. I have cramps (trying to take my own advice from yesterday...!) And I think because this is the time things slowly began to go wrong last time, it's making me feel bad. I also feel incredibly nauseous. Not helped that I have to go back to work today, in back to back meetings.

Back to my mantras and tomorrow will be another day I'm sure, but today is tough.

Rachael321 · 14/04/2020 08:30

Thanks for the new thread @Avocuddles. Number 3 already wow

Chanel05 · 14/04/2020 09:19

Hi again I'm 18 weeks today so am celebrating. Due on 15th September! My scan is in 15 days but my anxiety is creeping in this week. Anyone else feeling the same?

Doughnut100 · 14/04/2020 09:23

@Whiffle77 @MOGMOGMOG85 thank you. I left bad feedback for them but I didn't manage to say anything at the time other than refuse to let students in.

But on the bright side - today I am pregnant! And hoping everyone's upcoming scans are positive even though we will probably have to go in alone. I am sure they will be very understanding about video calling our partners now, I know you weren't allowed phones in before but I'm sure they will adapt.

didslysquiddlydoo · 14/04/2020 09:43

Thanks for the new thread @avocuddles - and thanks for updating my weeks too! 🥰

Thanks for setting up the new thread @Avocuddles, can't believe we're on to number 3 already!

Shefliesonherownwings · 14/04/2020 10:36

Hi all, hope you're well. I've been having horrible vivid dreams again. More like nightmares so my sleep isn't great. Then again, I'm not doing much during lockdown so it probably doesnt matter so much.

When did you all get notified about your 12 weeks scan? I have my booking in appointment on 23rd when I will be 11 weeks but heard nothing about the 12 week scan yet. I'm wondering if they'll arrange it at booking in? I know hospitals do things differently and these are strange times but just wondered what happened with others?

@Avocuddles thanks for the new thread. Finding it hard to keep up but am still reading everything. Just not very good at replying to people.

@Doughnut100 wow that is an awful story, I’m sorry you had that. I’ve been ‘lucky’ in the way staff have treated me. Although I was still getting appointment letters 2 months after my miscarriage. I’m officially complaining, although that process is obviously delayed. But easier for me I think as it’s not an individual, more the admin process which isn’t set up to deal with pregnancy loss.

Hope everyone is doing ok. Has anyone had late onset sickness? I’ve had nausea but no sickness up to now, but was up half the night wretching & feeling awful. Can’t be anything I ate as we’re all eating the same thing at home. 🤷🏻‍♀️

tmc14 · 14/04/2020 10:43

@Shefliesonherownwings I self referred at 5 weeks, booked in at 8 weeks and had already had my scan letter. But they gave me a copy of the scan appointment at my booking in, as apparently lots get ‘lost in the post’.

Mimba1 · 14/04/2020 10:47

@Whiffle77 so sorry you're feeling anxious today. Not sleeping well never helps and I know you said your work is really stressful. Is there any way you can leave a little early? Or even find somewhere quiet and do some mindfulness for 5 or 10 minutes? I know it isn't always that simple.

And I know you know this but cramps are completely normal! I read somewhere that 85% of women experience cramps in early pregnancy. You are not alone!

I hope you get through the day, get some rest, keep hydrated, look after yourself and feel better tomorrow.

I'm in the same place as you - this is the week it went wrong last time and it's hard not to feel concerned. I keep telling myself this is a completely different pregnancy then take a few deep breaths do some power poses (I know that Amy Cuddy study wasn't replicated but it always makes me feel loads better). Some days I believe it and other days I don't but it still helps a bit. I hope you feel better!

MissSparkles81 · 14/04/2020 10:54

Thanks for setting up the new thread @Avocuddles just marking my place.

I am having an anxious week so not really been posting much but still popping in and reading messages from time to time.

MrsMGE · 14/04/2020 11:39

Thanks @Avocuddles! (also delighted to hear re Next online! 😁)

@LASandOtto Yes, I've left the TTC corner of MN some time ago. As we know it can be a double edge sword, mostly supportive, but at times inducing anxiety and creating invisible pressure when it's not needed. I guess to an extent this is the case with most children-related parts of MN, but I think it's important to do what we can to keep our anxiety away. I can totally understand why you stayed away too, and please don't feel obliged to participate actively if it doesn't do you good. I do hope your scan will go well and you will get there in the end. I know you will.
Are you all unpacked in your new place now? If I remember correctly you managed to get it few months ago? Are you working atm? I hope all is good on that front, I know your industry has been hit hard by what's going on right now ❤️🙏

So it's happy 5 weeks to me and baby MGE today, the line was strong today and I slowly recognise the usual tiny symptoms, such as peeing every hour, fullness and getting tired more easily. I've also had garlic mushrooms yesterday (I hate mushrooms) and gone off Haribo (which I love), even thinking about them is nearly making me retch! How funny 😂

What's everyone cooking today? 😊 Also do you ladies tend to go for daily walks these days, every day?

Whiffle77 · 14/04/2020 11:57

Thanks @Mimba1 really appreciate your response! I am wfh at the minute so things are a lot better in that regard, but it's still quite full on. Trying to balance getting everything done with not sending myself insane - it isn't always that easy!! I did a headspace yesterday and that helped, so will do another later. Going to have my lunch in the sun too which should also help - trying to enjoy the smaller things!

I know they are normal deep down and I have been telling myself that so far, but last night I just couldn't accept it. Things are always harder in the night!

I often do power poses at work, I hadn't thought of doing them now I am at home all the time - that's a great idea! Between that and saying my mantras I should be so relaxed I'm horizontal 😂

Just taking each day at a time at the min, hope we both work through this week ok!

@mrsmge I'm taking my walk every day, I would go batshit crazy without it I think! My DH seems to do most of the cooking nowadays so I doubt I will be cooking anything 🙈😂 what about you?

MrsMGE · 14/04/2020 12:05

@Whiffle77 I go daily too, would be rude not to in this sunshine! I'm trying to stick to my routine and go out with DH every evening after I finish wfh. I find this helps with sleep too! Nearly 12k steps yesterday 😊🙌 Re cooking my DH is better than me although I'm a more active cook in lockdown 😂 Mackerel salad for lunch today and mediterranean stuffed peppers this evening, I'm really craving them actually 😂 I find thinking about food and planning meals helps with steering my thoughts away from negativity 😁 What are you having today?

Mimba1 · 14/04/2020 12:12

@MrsMGE today we are having chicken pepperonata! I am loving being at home in time to cook at a sensible time. Before we used to have dinner between 9 and 10pm so this is lovely! My taste changed early on (absolutely hated parsley all of a sudden at 5wks) but now back to normal. I feel a bit queasy but no sickness (I've said before I think it's vitamin-related but not so sure today) and so far I can just push through, eat what I like and it passes. In fairness I can count on one hand how many times I've been physically sick in my life and more than half of those were alcohol related so maybe I have a "strong constitution" as my mother would say... (or I'll be eating my words next week!)

I'm going for walks most days but not every day. I'm finding that I get out of breath really easily - I sometimes need a sit down after climbing the stairs! This was the first symptom of both of my pregnancies in fact - suddenly feeling really unfit! I was just starting couch to 5K to try to get a bit of fitness back after our loss and it was getting harder not easier! The point being... yes I am walking most days. But VERY slowly - trying to keep heart rate sensible so I don't go dizzy which means shuffling up even small inclines like an old lady! Bear in mind I live in the South - it's not like I'm climbing mountains here! I was really worried it went away for a week a couple of weeks ago and I could power walk through the woods again but it's back now. Not sure I've heard of anyone else with this. For COVID I am taking plastic gloves for if I have to open any gates etc and keeping 2m apart but trying not to worry too much - walking outdoors really helps my anxiety and most people around here are being pretty sensible.

MrsMGE · 14/04/2020 12:29

@Mimba1 Sorry if I missed the info (I've looked up in the earlier posts but couldn't find your name Blush and as a total newbie I'm not sure what the system is re the weeks updates on here anyway), how far along are you now?

I said to my DH yesterday during our walk that I've noticed I'm getting really out of breath and slightly dizzy, and have been for a few days now. I wear Fitbit HR Inspire and interestingly it has been showing an increased heart rate all the time. My usual pre-pregnancy resting rate would be around 57-60 bpm, it currently is 70-75 bpm and I get to 115-120 pretty easily, not even power-walking. No wonder I'm more tired! Do you have anything to measure your heart rate and calories burnt? It must be that your body is currently working overtime and that's why you're getting dizzy/tired easily. I read that an increased heart rate is completely normal and nothing to worry about, just don't push yourself too hard now 😊

I'm very lucky to be able to do nice walks close to home too and same as you, I've noticed people are usually very good with keeping their distance which certainly helps. I'd really struggle in full lockdown if I couldn't leave the house and get fresh air. I'm really grateful we're still allowed to get out.

I've now been banned by DH from visiting supermarkets, he will be doing our usual weekly shop. I do wonder how this is going to pan out considering he always only buys half of the stuff on the list (don't ask me why) and we're now buying for 2.5 households as well (looking after elderly relatives). This is going to be fun! 😁🤦🏼‍♀️

SunStruck · 14/04/2020 12:49

@Mimba1 @MrsMGE lovely meals ladies! And happy 5 week day @MrsMGE 🥰 I also felt very breathless early pregnancy, and heart rate was high! That's completely normal though and I was happy having the symptoms rather than not 😁 I never went off Haribo though ha-ha, that's extreme! 😀

I had a big training sessions this morning with 50 sets of stairs and a full body circuit, burned 650 kcal! Had a massive grilled chicken leg and Greek salad for lunch, and for dinner I'm warming up a dish i cooked last week (obviously been in the freezer!) - Beef and aubergine meatballs with Parmesan and some brown pasta! The recipe is from Antonio Carluccio's pasta book 🤤

I also had a slice of cake I baked and a nap this afternoon 😳

Oh and I have officially bought one big thing for the baby... a really cute Moses basket with a stand, it was on 60% sale!

Knotemma · 14/04/2020 13:21

@MrsMGE I'm eating cheese on toast with Worcester sauce as I type this... I'm so happy my morning sickness has calmed down and while I still have some aversions I'm definitely doing better!

Whiffle77 · 14/04/2020 13:38

I'm also really breathless with a much higher heart rate too, I had it last time as well - I think it is quite common! I am ok doing a "proper" workout but its walking up hills which absolutely do me in!
My DH is actually much better at the shopping than me and we spend WAY less when he goes so it's working ok! We are also shopping for his parents too, so he's taking a lot on at the minute bless him. Today is shopping day so we will have a choice of dinners for tonight! Had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for lunch 😋 I always used to do all the cooking, not sure how things turned around to him doing it all! I agree it is so much easier without the commuting though...a nice walk before dinner instead!
I'm also not a sicky person either @Mimba1 but have still been feeling really nauseous today and yesterday, I have had an upset stomach too so maybe that's my version of morning sickness...who knows!
Some very nice sounding dinners coming in! I love cheese on toast @knotemma 😍

Mimba1 · 14/04/2020 13:42

@MrsMGE how interesting that you have this as well! I'm theoretically 7+4 based on LMP but I'd put money on being less than that in reality. I'm holding off adding my due date to the list until I'm a bit more confident in the date and the pregnancy.

I used to have a Garmin watch with HR monitoring but it broke and I injured my achilles so stopped running and didn't replace it. Really should get a new one at some point. I do know I have a low resting heart rate (normally 45-55, which it says is "athlete" - I assure you I am not!) and fairly low blood pressure (usually 90-100/50-60). I've never had problems while exercising before but I just assumed this was related but maybe not! I know keeping well hydrated really helps so trying to do that. We're taking water with us when we go walking even if it isn't far.

DH is doing all of our shopping as well but is actually amazing. I'm so lucky - he gets pretty much everything every time! Although I did spot quite a lot of beer in the last haul...
