Hey hey! New thread. Well done geeklove.

Although no rolling here yet, dreading weaning bur she has started sucking her thumb!! :-)

Will write more tmro- must sleeeep now whilst I can, am up much too late after a bit of wine and watching Mildred Pearce!

Jupiter118 · 09/07/2011 22:54

Yeah new thread just left slightly tipsy post on old thread xx

Muser · 09/07/2011 23:56

Just marking my place.

Pameladej · 10/07/2011 04:29

Had night out last night with DH to celebrate anniversary while DS was babysat for by cousin. Was great being out but was slightly nervous as DS seems to have a sixth sense for when I've touched a drop of alcohol and proceed to have a terrible nights sleep. Not tonight though yay!

He did is first (followed by second roll) yesterday. Was a surprised and pleased as he had shown no sign of any movement until the full on roll!

Can't remember who mentioned weight but I need to get DS weighed next week. He is huge so I'm curious how much he weighs now (he was 7.15kg at his 12 week weigh in and is now 17 weeks).

Finished feeding so back to sleep for me!

Marking my place.....

1Catherine1 · 10/07/2011 07:46

Hey ladies... still got to catch up with all your posts. Got back from "holiday" yesterday. saving the thread to find it later... Have a good Sunday all.

sittinghippo · 10/07/2011 09:06

Woo new thread! Grin Yay!

Jupiter your tipsy post made me giggle. Probably because I'd had a couple of glasses of cider myself Wink

Pamela sounds like you had a lovely evening. I have managed to go out a couple of times of an evening, but not with DH just yet. And I've only gone close by, so I can be home within 10 minutes if Beth wakes for a feed!
Well done on the roll, we have had a couple but they seem to be accidental, and a week between each one.
Weighed on Weds and she was 13lbs exactly. (5.9kg) and she is 16 weeks. (I think Confused)

Catherine Welcome home, I bet you'll be glad to get back into some sort of normal routine again now. Hope you did manage to get some 'holiday' out of it. Your picture of Anya swimming didnt work, looking forward to seeing it.

Is anyone else catching lots of colds? I'd forgotten this bit of having a baby, they catch every cold going and pass it on to mum. I hadn't had a cold in the last year but since she's been born I've had three! So s'cuse me while I go and find a tissue!

highlandbird · 10/07/2011 09:30

I'm full of bloody cold too, and a nasty sore throat, planning on having a quiet day but Angus seems particularly grouchy, and DP is away for the weekend, bloody typical!
Sorry to start the new thread on a grouchy note!! On a good note Angus started laughing yesterday congrats Pamela on the rolling no sign of that here yet.
Glad you're enjoying your evenings girls, I managed a glass of wine with girl friends on Fri evening too :)

ckny1 · 10/07/2011 10:02

Thanks for the new thread, Geek!

Welcome home, Catherine!

Happy Anniversary, Pamela!

And feel better soon, Hippo and Highland*!

Happy Sunday to all. :)

haloflo · 10/07/2011 12:45

Hello new thread! Glad to hear about the Wine drinking, less glad to hear of the colds.

Well done to pamelas Alex for rolling and highlandbird's Angus for laughing. [hgrin]

Welcome back Catherine - hope you can have a relaxing Sunday to recover.

Does anyone else have a baby which they can no longer leave alone? I can't leave the room, let anyone else hold her (except DH) or she cries.

Is this just a short phase? MIL said they would have DD anytime (first grandchild) but I dare not leave her even for an hour with her in case she cries the whole time. MIL said it wouldn't do her anyone harm, she would hold her the whole time but I can't go out without being confident she would be ok. Do I need to leave her so she gets used to? Surely she doesn't have the ability to understand her mum will always come back? When will she?

Because i'm always with her we have only tried a bottle a couple of times recently (both failed)

As I result i'm turning down lots of social invitations. I said no to the cinema - too long away from her, meals out - early start & I can't guarantee she'll be asleep, drinks - she wakes at 9/10 for her first night feed)

I don't mind at all now but will I come to mind? I go back to January - I hope she's ok then.

haloflo · 10/07/2011 12:45

That last sentence should read that I go back to work January.

GeekLove · 10/07/2011 12:52

Things are all change at chez GeekLove. It's the end of an era when I have packed away the newborn clothes for the last time with a mind to sell some of them at a Nearly New sale. Can't believe I am going back to work in a couple of weeks. Better plug my lapto

Medee · 10/07/2011 12:53

Hello new thread!

How many weeks is she now, Flo? If she's in a Wonder Week, she could be very clingy.

GeekLove · 10/07/2011 12:58

Stupid iPhone and my big fat fingers!

Finishing off I mean read my emails and check the databases more than once a week. It never ceases to amaze just how time consuming everything is. Get up have breakfast do the Shred then go to mother and baby group/ aquanatal/forum. Then afternoon for chores/lunch and at 16.00 the dreaded Toddler pick-up.

I think we need to get a cleaner when I am back to 4 days a week...

OP posts:
haloflo · 10/07/2011 12:58

14 weeks. I think I noticed it first last weekend when she was 13 weeks old and she cried on her Auntie, then this weekend when visiting IL's.

mixedmamameansbusiness · 10/07/2011 13:39

haloflo - perhaps if you do leave her she will be different. Often children only cry for the initial moment and then settle. However, it is entirely up to you if you comfortable leaving her just yet. I could easily leave E with ILs or my folks and he would be fine (not particularly bothered about me) but I just dont feel good about it yet. Maybe pop out for a coffee or soemthing just to see if she does settle.

Well done for the new thread - love the title. We are a chatty bunch.

Well just E and I rtoday as DH wants DS1 and DS2 to get as much time in with his GP before we are off to Turkey. Have been to the school Car Boot and a little walk and now going to settle down to some reading.

Catherine - welcome back.

Hello to all.

mixedmamameansbusiness · 10/07/2011 13:40

Oh and I am going to weigh E when I take him for his jabs this week. I know he fine as he is one of the bigger ones too I think (CKNY E drinks about 1000 ml per day too) but just curious really.

Only a week and a half until we are off to Turkey for 6 weeks. Yay. Cannot wait.

Medee · 10/07/2011 14:05

I should have said, Wonder weeks is based on corrected age, ie from due date. A long fussy period starts at week 15, with a "stormy" period at week 17, and then coming out to a sunny period week 20-21. So she could just be having a developmental leap.

me23 · 10/07/2011 16:04

Pamela and Jupiter nice to hear you have had good nights out :-) I would like to catch up with an old friend soon but worried about leaving LO with OH as Ethan cluster feeds in the evening so think it would be quite stressful for both of them! But at the same time would like to do something just for me.
Glad you got a bit more of a break in between feeds k hope E starts going longer soon.

ckny1 · 10/07/2011 16:08

good to know about the 1000 ml, mixed, and have a great trip to Turkey. I discovered I was preggers last July in Istanbul so it has special meaning to me! :)

we're of to the States in 8 days and I hope we don't manage to lose our Aptamils in the process since I don't want to use any crap American new formula.

KPidgeon · 10/07/2011 19:10

Hi folks, just marking my spot quickly. Hope you've all had nice weekends.

As ckny1 said- weird to think that this time last year we were all starting to discover our pregnancies!

E is a fussy blighter at the moment. I'm off home to Wales next Saturday for a week (can't wait- no cooking or cleaning for a week!) and I keep warning him that his grandma will sort out everything if he doesn't buck up! (Sleep, grumpiness, not wanting to be put down and day time naps!) Not sure what my mum will make of this pressure but I live in hope!

Take care all.x

sam26oscar · 10/07/2011 21:29

marking my place too!! haloflo cassie was a bit like that last week when i handed her to my mum,, she was 17 weeks from due date, and i thought silly girl you see nanny every other day practically!! But then just a couple of days later she really started to try and roll and has got a little further over each day until....today she rolled over fully...whilst my mum was looking after her Sad i had taken Oscar to see Mr Stink at the Hippodrome!! I didn't mind at all as mum missed out on Oscars early development as we lived 4hrs away. it was nice for her to see it, she was so chuffed that cassie did it with her! So, hopefully now that Cassie has mastered this skill, she has done it 3 times since we got home!! she should sleep through the night!!! LOL...yeah right!!

I took Oscar and Cassie swimmimg this morning by myself...eek! However when we got there cassie was asleep and stayed asleep in her pram by the poolside and didnt wake up until we had showered and got dressed!! So Oscar and i had a bit of one on one time then went out to the theatre which he loved, so feel like a good mummy todayWink.

Well, back to school runs and suchlike tomorrow, best start thinking about packed lunches!!

Pameladej · 11/07/2011 05:19

Morning!

[haloflo] I read somewhere that babies don't develop 'object permanence' until around 4-6 months which means that if they can't see something, it doesn't exist. So while they recognise you when they can see you, they won't miss you when you are gone. Maybe you're LO has developed object permanence now?

[Me23] I've been giving DS a formula feed at 7pm an another at 11pm and the rest of the time just breastfeed him. It works quite well as he also wants to clusterfeed in the evening at the same time as when my milk seems to dry up. I had to introduce a bottle really early as my milk didn't come in for ages (maybe because I had quite traumatic labour and ECS?) and when it did come in it took weeks of quite hard work to build up my supply. At the time I was so exhausted and frustrated to have to permanently feed, top-up with formula, express, sterilise, feed and so on but at least it meant he is ok at taking a bottle now.

[mixed], I'm not sure how much he takes in total during a day as he is combination fed but I give him 240ml at each of his evening feed and he drinks it all!

Second swimming lesson today (in around 5 hours so had better try to get some more sleep!)
