Lord we lift up Your Name.

We give thanks for two new little beanies, Bobsmum's and Podglets?.

We give thanks that Worzella and Roseylea are quite a bit better, we pray for complete healing for both of them.

We also pray for CaptainDippy, not feeling great and struggling with a particularly difficult issue at the moment.

We pray for Podglet as she works through a week of incredible business. Lord we hold her up for Your particular love and care.

We also pray for Mummy2TandF. After the very sudden and unexplained death of her dh she is feeling totally overwhelmed by money worries and grief. Lord uphold her and give her all the practical help she needs. Also help her in answering questions from her ds and help him come to terms with his grief

We also remember Onlyjoking and Steve before the Lord with their three children.

We give thanks with Harrisey that her ds is settling into school and for a few days away. We pray for strength as she copes with the after effects of MIL's childcare

We give thanks with MaryBS for a wonderful holiday and pray for her as she takes up study and essay writing. We pray for her ds and his appointment with the paediatrician on 14th September

Zipadisoozy - prayers for peace of mind concerning ds and his new school. Prayers for him too as he settles into a class with two bullies from his previous school. Let's pray for his protection and right development.
We give thanks, with Marslady for the safe arrival of the two babies she looks after.
We thank the Lord for CaptainCaveman and her ds, who keeps us amused with the wonderful things he comes out with.
We remember Notsofarnow and the difficulties in her relationship with exh. We pray for wisdom

We welcome the new girls Scootergrrrl, Commanderchaos, Sandcastles and Shreksmissus. We pray for Mr Shrek and his very busy life and with him for all dhs who work so hard for their families. May the Lord bless them richly and keep them walking in His way.

Several young children have been brought to our notice for prayer:- Brook Kendrick who lives in Northampton and is very poorly with a heart condition in Great Ormond Street Hospital and C who is known to Bobsmum. He suffers from an inoperable brainstem tumour.

We commit ourselves and all our friends to the care of our great and wonderful Lord and Saviour.

Would appreciate prayer, ladies, I'm struggling with new pain medication and I'm really worn out this week. I am enormously grateful, and will take all those prayer requests with me tonight, too.

Many thanks.

Sue, Sorry you didn't get a mention, but will certainly pray that your pain diminishes and the medication is effective.

Please remember N. in your prayers also, as she undergoes treatment for a flesh-eating bug, and for her DH and DDs, for strength for them, and that they don't lose their home...

Good morning ladies. And a lovely morning in Glasgow it is too!

Hope all are well, and praying for those of you not able to appreciate the beauty of the day. I've been there often enough myself, I know how bad things can be.

We are off to have a family day out today, to a country park and then to a Doug Horley Praise Party. Looking forward to it.

Our new Senior Pastor is being inducted tomorrow as well. If you could pray for Ian, Anne and their family, as well as Edwin and Morag as they retire, we'd all appreciate it.

Thanks for the lovely prayer round-up DO, prayers for you too.

Praying for you SueBaroo that your pain meds work for you.

Hugs and prayers CD, we're missing you.

Bit overcast here today but warm still. I've been playing hockey and I SCORED TWICE!! Yippee for me. Ds is at Grandma's so very quiet this afternoon. I just phoned them up and ds won't tell me what he's been doing as "its a secret".

Praise to God for my friend who is pg with no.2 - she has just bought a doppler and heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time (20 weeks). They are overjoyed . Her ds said "the babys very loud!"

Continued thanks to God for my sanity and freedom from panic. Amen!

NSFN, how are you doing today? Hugs to you.

Hi Panda, yes, I went back to sleep at about 4:30, till about 6:45. Then I snuck out the house at 7:15 and went to the Cathedral for morning prayer and communion. I found it remarkably spiritual. One line really stuck out "free to worship without fear". This quickly changed in my mind to "free to worship without interruption", because although I much prefer the services at my church, it was a blessing to worship without the anklebiters!

When I got back, I asked DH something I'd been thinking about for a while, that I deliberately avoided the subject of religion/church with him, for fear of offending him. I asked him if he would rather I talked about it more, rather than avoiding the subject, and he said he had no problem with talking to me about it!!!!! Wow!

support and encouragement hugh Not a chance - think everyone is fed up of seeing me with a miserable head over last 12months. Need to put a smile on my face and get on with it.

dd's are bitching with each other, have come home from work and house is a tip - feel like giving up work, every week the same. Girls are not babies anymore surely they get sick and tired of me shouting and screaming when they leave the place a tip.

I've so had enough. This is the first time in ages tht xh has had the kids overnight and I feel like this. What is wrong with me????

DO - that's really sad Will pray for her family, such a tragic loss to bear.

NSFN - I am here now, if you want to give me a call, will probably stay up till about 10pm if you want to give me a call... A real friend sticks by you no matter how many times you call... I've been there, with no-one, in the same boat, which is why I'll NEVER turn away anyone if they need help and I can help. Its no joke, yet we all need to feel we can turn to someone. If you'll let me, I'm here for you... God bless - lets face it you were SO there for me the other night. Its what friends DO!

Shreksmissus, sounds like you had a LOVELY time! What does your DH do (or did I miss that)?

I've had a lovely evening tonight, round a friend's house, we've only just got in. It was SO nice to chill out!

God bless

Mary

Thanks mary. Have been out with songsters tonightand it just goes from bad to worse. Girls weren't in band practice on Tues night and no one told them they needed their instruments tongight so all night i hav ehad eldest dd saying no one wants them, no one cares about them etc etc.

I've cried most of way through - every song has set me off especially one verse

Have we trials and temptations,
is there trouble anywhere
we should never be discouraged
take it to the Lord in prayer.

So why am I soooooo discouraged.

Also on back wall of this tiny little chapel was a board with twigs, autumn leaves and the words Casting all you care upon him.

I know God is around me surrounding me with his love so why can't I see the woods for the trees.

There are times I feel like that too. That's where faith comes in. Its easy to believe in God when everything is going well. Ironically that's when we're least in need of him. TELL him how you're feeling. You're only human, you've got a lot on your plate. Shout at him if you want. Despite everything that's happened to you, you're still blessed, for "blessed are those who have not seen yet believe". YOU believe. You believe that God our Father loves us and is here for us. Run to him like any hurt child would run to his/her parent - no thoughts of unworthiness or failing, just that certain knowledge that "mummy" or "daddy" can make it better.

I've just received this through on email, I hope it comforts you:

O God,
you know us to be set in the midst
of so many and so great dangers
that by reason of the frailty of our nature we cannot always stand upright:
Grant to us such strength and protection as may support us in all dangers and carry us through all temptations; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

May God make safe to us each step,
May God open to us each door,
May God make clear to us each road.
May God enfold us in loving arms.Amen

I've said it before but will say it again:-"Underneath are the everlasting arms". That means that you can let go, you are not in free fall, underneath...
And, (sorry if this makes you cry again) "Let me hide myself in Thee"
How are things this morning?

Hey guys wonderful news - our vicar is running a 6 week 'road to maturity' course about Christian personal growth. Starts when I'm on holiday (did I mention we're going to spain in 3 weeks!).

Report
MaryBS · 09/09/2007 16:37

That sounds interested - do you know which course material he is using?

My Emmaus course starts up again on 19 Sept. I've persuaded 3 new people to come, plus a 4th to lead one of the sessions.

How is everyone today? We had a family service today - it was chaos! It was all "fly by the seat of your pants". Good fun though - I mean anyone who can get our congregation to try to drown out the organ during the singing can't be all bad!

We had a fab service this morning, when our new senior pastor joined us. THe whole church is very excited about the way forward as a fellowships with new leadership.

NSFN - praying for you my love you have had such a hard time. I don't know what it is to go through what has faced you the last couple of years, but I have ben really badly depressed in the past, and if you need a friend to talk to, please get in touch.

Could you pray for us as dh is changing medication. We're at the stage where the prozac has worn off but the new one (effexxor) hasn't kickid in yet, so he is very tired, grumpy, not coping at all well with the kids, sleeping a lot, and taking it out on me quite a lot. It should only (!) be another couple of weeeks, butit feels a bit never ending at the moment. I dont grudge it for a minute, truly, I love him to bits and woudl do anything for him, but it is getting pretty titing for me. He is doing his best though, really!
