Si and Dave are joining us for a lunchtime webchat on Monday 17 September at 1pm.

A bit of background info: The Hairy Bikers met on the set of a Catherine Cookson drama shock. Si was Assistant Director and Dave a makeup artist, specialising in prosthetics shock shock. On discovering their mutual love of motorbikes and food, The Hairy Bikers were born. Since then food has been their mission, producing several TV series and six books.

In August they embarked on a mission to change their lifestyle and lose two-and-a-half stone, while staying true to their love of great food. The Hairy Dieters gave themselves just three months to complete the mission and simultaneously produce a book, The Hairy Dieters: How to Love Food and Lose Weight which, they say is 'real food for real people, not skinny minnies'.

Kicking off at the end of September 2012, The Hairy Bikers are embarking on a whirlwind tour of the UK. If you send in a question to The Hairy Bikers or join in the webchat, you will be entered into a draw to win a pair of tickets to not only see the Hairy Bikers live at the nearest venue to you, but to join them on stage and be cooked for by them. For more details and tickets, please go to www.hairybikers.com/tour

Chat with the Hairy Bikers at 1pm on Monday, or post a question in advance.

Oh I love the Hairy Bikers, their shows are the only cookery shows that we all watch as a family, and the only one I like. I have every single one of their cookery books

I'll ask a question (but mine rarely get answered).

I saw the tv show you did about Meals on Wheels and thought it was great, especially when you showed the councils how to make wholesome healthy food at very little cost, and how you motivated the communites to get involved in making sure that elderly people are getting a good hot meal and a bit of company

my question is - Have you been back to any of the meals on wheels places you visited to see if they are still providing good service? and (follow up) are you planning to get involved in more meals on wheels services across the UK,and if so will it on tv?

Finally thanks for making cooking fun! smile

Ooh, just followed the link for your tour! Will head off to get a gaggle of fellow stalkers adoring fans together for your show up this way.

My question is... who bakes the cakes for your birthdays and are they always a surprise?

Just a quick question. Can I use other colour pepper instead of green as I am allergic to green but not the others.

NettOlympicSuperstar Fri 14-Sep-12 11:06:55

What's your favourite pie from the pie book?
(just ordered it!)
We're hoping to see you at the BBC Good Food show in Glasgow soon, and v excitedgrin

Our family all love the Hairy Bikers, the tour comes here in March and we have tickets! grin

I love that you make normal, everyday food that we can all serve our families without anyone giving it the hmm look and asking "What's that?"

My question - what is your favourite "comfort food"?

Snorbs Fri 14-Sep-12 16:32:42

Big fan of your show; your enthusiasm and delight in cooking really shines through and I find it really inspiring!

An important question:- out of all the bikes you've ridden in the programmes, which has been your favourite?

ishchel Fri 14-Sep-12 16:33:20

I bought my mackem dh your Pies book for Christmas and he is now able to make more than fish pie. And now he cooks more than once a year. Can please come round to ours so you can sample one of his pies and one of my Yucatecan specialities?

Doyouthinktheysaurus Fri 14-Sep-12 17:59:08

Can't think of a question, just wanted to say that my dses think you are the funniest thing on the tvgrin

Actually, there's a fairly sensible question! Any plans to do a cookery programme aimed at children? You both seem to have a sense of fun that children connect with.

<starstruck>

Dear Si and Dave, I loves you both and I can't wait to go see you in Glasgow in November...going all fangirly even!

So, are you both long haired rock types? What's your favourite music/bands? Nothing to do with food, but I wanna know!

Oh, and you're rabbit casserole from the second mum's know best book is fantastic!

WerthersUnOriginal Fri 14-Sep-12 18:43:51

I love love Si and Dave!grin Just had to say thatblush. (Racks brains for intellectual question)

Ok here goes, but sorry not intellectual...when you visit people's homes to try their cooking you are both always so complimentary and kind. But have some of the dishes made you inwardly go 'Nooooo!! I can't eat it!'??

If yes, I won't ask you to say which ones, cos I know you're both lovely and wouldn't saywink

aristocat Fri 14-Sep-12 18:55:57

Hello, love you both too grin and the new dieters book is fab! My question is what is your favourite recipe from the dieter book, is it the Cheese, Leek & Onion Pasties?
Personally I like the Lamb Hotpot ...... delicious.

Bluedolphin1971 Fri 14-Sep-12 19:42:43

loflo Fri 14-Sep-12 19:55:43

Si will you marry me? grin

GOLDdebka Fri 14-Sep-12 20:09:58

Hi Hairy Bikers blush grin

I really enjoyed the honesty of The Hairy Dieters, especially hearing about Si's upbringing, my mum and I had a tear in our eyes when you talked about your schooldays. That series meant a lot to me as I've lost 8 stone in the last year, and have had to deal with a lot of Issues around food. I still have a little way to go however.

My question is- are you continuing to lose weight, and if you are at a weight you are happy with, how are you finding maintaining it?

Thank you smile

McKayz Fri 14-Sep-12 20:48:43

No question here either but wanted to let you know that my 3 year old son Dylan loves you. He's asked to see you as his birthday present so we're going to the good food show. He is always helping to cook.

Actually I do have a question from Dylan. Will you come to his party in December? grin

BlackCatsAndPurpleDogs Fri 14-Sep-12 20:56:02

Hi Si and Davesmile
Love your enthusiasm for food.

One question -

I am vegan, and find there is a complete lack of even vegetarian cookery shows, never mind vegan. I think it should be made law that any recipe in a book or on the telly should always have a vegan alternative shown at the same time. What do you think grin

NoobytheWaspSlayer Fri 14-Sep-12 21:49:54

Hello Boys!

Love your work, especially hairy dieters - just wanted to know what you have coming up next?

kotinka Fri 14-Sep-12 22:42:55

My question is for Dave Myers.

Will you let me massage you all over in olive oil?

charmed6266 Fri 14-Sep-12 23:10:51

Hi Si and Dave smile

Love your shows and recipes!

My question is: what is your earliest memory of cooking, what were you making and was it edible?

Will look forward to see you in Birmingham smile

Cremolafoam Sat 15-Sep-12 00:07:51

Dh wants to know about vegetarian gelatine and can you use agar interchangeably- it is a random / slightly drunk question but thought you two
Might know grin < wine taken>

Cremolafoam Sat 15-Sep-12 00:09:03

Ps we Lurve you- actual tears wept during family thingy meet up in Romania - sniff

FairPhyllis Sat 15-Sep-12 02:45:32

What's your favourite restaurant in Newcastle? I'm asking because I'm from there but whenever I go back all the places and restaurants have all changed.

FairPhyllis Sat 15-Sep-12 02:47:30

Oh I love that you met on a Catherine Cookson set btw! I'd always wondered how you became the Hairy Bikers.

MCT76 Sat 15-Sep-12 08:39:29

First and foremost, I need to say that you are both brilliant, funny, inspiring and unpretentious unlike many so-called chefs on the box and that I always look forward to your programmes.

Well done on the weight loss and on showing people that you can eat healthily and still enjoy some delicious food...However, my question is: now that you've lost so much weight, how are you going to continue on your calorie-laden travels without sacrificing your waistline?

SirGOLDBoobs Sat 15-Sep-12 11:53:29

Oooh where's that poster that had an inappropriate Hairy Bikers dream?!

Hi guys - think you're both superb. Your programmes always make me giggle, and I love the healthy by still enjoyable menus you've created recently.

What's your favourite healthy snack? (And biscuit...!)
