<ahem>

Oh Wiggins, oh Bradley
I love you quite madley
You look tres sexee
In the yellow jersey
Vous etes tres bon
Avant le peloton
With your mates Cav and Froome
To Paris you'll zoom
Do your side burns help you steer?
When you win I will shed a tear.

Have absolutely no interest in the T de F usually, while acknowledging the skill & stamina of the contestants, but am very excited that one of Our Chaps might actually win something!!

Anyone else think that his name is just SO British....??

Eee that Bradley Wiggins.

It sounds like he should come from God's own country a Hovis type village and own a whippet not from the heart of London now living in Lancs!!

Wiggo is le maillot jaune
But my loyalties are torn
Because I'd much rather have
A night in with the lovely CAV grin

HalfMumHalfBiscuit Sat 21-Jul-12 16:35:59

Bye hec. I knows what you mean. Being from that there Yorkshire.

But doest no one fancy Frome?

Hassled Sat 21-Jul-12 16:45:13

He cycled lonely as a cloud
And pumped those thighs o'er grass and dirt
When all at once he saw a crowd
A host, of golden yellow shirts;
Forget Mr Froome, ignore that Sanchez,
Brad will trash them down the Champs Elysee.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit Sat 21-Jul-12 16:58:54

Hassled. Inspirational.

What a scorching stage win for the Wiggmeister!

He roundly whupped their sorry asses.

More poetry needed, to spur him on over that finishing line demain en Gay Paris.

Go Wiggers!!

Bradley you're an inspiration,

Cheering souls across the nation,

Forget the colours red,white,blue

Yellow is the shade for YOU !!

<I thank you>

HalfMumHalfBiscuit Sat 21-Jul-12 18:33:06

Nicely done bossy. More please.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit Sat 21-Jul-12 18:41:40

So chuffed for Brad what a dude.

hairymother Sat 21-Jul-12 19:09:57

Amazing performance

I wonder how they avoid saddle chafing? -it gets me after cycling a mile!

Bradley Wiggins is a cycler

His arse is clad in Lycra

He has two pads -

To protect his nads

And thighs formed from Formica.

Hairy I believe copious amounts of Vaseline & strategic padded strapping

rubyrubyruby Sat 21-Jul-12 19:23:19

My DH rode 100 miles today - he wears 'chamois cream'

fivegomadindorset Sat 21-Jul-12 19:37:33

Well now that he has won two Gold Medals and the Tour de France which is definitely one up on Chris Hoy, can he be knighted too?

Jacaqueen Sat 21-Jul-12 21:38:18

Dear Bradley you look like a Mod

And you certainly have a hot bod

Dressed all in yellow

You look like a lovely fellow

And make me go all moist mellow

HalfMumHalfBiscuit Sat 21-Jul-12 22:03:04

Jacaqueen like your rhymes.

Interesting that Vaseline and chamois cream rhyme.

Sorry I am unable to do verse at the mo. wine related.. .

Bradley Wiggins
All you need is the leggins
To go with your yellow top
You're the only good news we've had
(cause things here are really bad)
Summers turned out a right flop.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit Sat 21-Jul-12 22:26:25

Bradley Wiggins
In your skin tight leggings
Speak to Seb Coe
And let him let you go
On Friday in the arena high
Like ET on a bike in the sky
For yes you do have the fame
To light the Olympic flame

He rides atop a velocipede

He zooms round France at breakneck speed

His facial hair is quite disarming

But overall, the chap is charming.

Oh Mr Wiggins,Bradley

I love you truly, madly

Deeply & quite badly

'Tis bound to end,quite sadly,

When you win.

The Sky's the limit
A Champs Élysées dream
History in the making
For Brad and his team

rednellie Sun 22-Jul-12 04:20:50

This is the best thread ever. I've been hooked to Le tour since I were a little un and this year has been amazing. The poetry here is just the icing on the cycling cake. grin

rubyrubyruby Sun 22-Jul-12 07:56:26

Bradley, oh Bradley,
Our friend in yellow
Many years we have waited
For a victorious fellow
And now here in Paris
The podium awaits
Your team there in history
Our all time greats

HalfMumHalfBiscuit Sun 22-Jul-12 08:57:18

These are brilliant. I wonder it Brad will read them?

Bradley you are an inspiration
Bring the yellow jersey to the nation
A British winner of the tour de France
You are faster, fitter and better than Lance

BIWI Sun 22-Jul-12 10:27:04

grin
