Recipe of the week

penguinmum's creamy fish pie: smoky, seasonal fish in a creamy white sauce with grated, rather than mashed, tatties on top - a meal of the highest comfort-food order.

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Well done, LR smile hope DD2 feels better v soon.

Hello all smile

Poor little dd2 is ill sad
She was sent home Tues afternoon and has been off since.
After an awful night with her, dh took her to the drs today and she has an ear and throat infection, plus croup sad

She is struggling on, whilst reminding us how ill she is grin

Dd1 isd off to a sleepover tonight, then to a theme park tomorrow (in the rain).

I have passed my NVQ 3 - hurrah! And it only took 6 months <gloat>

I have been trying to get back into the F&V vibe but struggling. It seems too much t plan dinner for everyone whilst theya re off out and at activities.

oh TF! Whereabouts are you going to? I heart cornwall so much. I have friends in penzance and I am hoping desperately to get to see them this year.
i've had romanesco, they grow it at dh's work, it's lovely

we have had mini ones too, and mini cauli [ponce]

we're off to cornwall tomorrow, dh is working down there next week so we are going with him

the weather is forecast to be foul, but at least i won't have to look at my ironing pile. poor dh will be tramping round farms. i will be in a nice warm cottage with hob nobs apples and hot chocolate orange juice

i need more hours too please

lots to do today

we are visiting dd1's old nursery today with a view to booking a place for dd2

that would be a good wish SB. except the exta hours would belong solely to me (and all mums everywhere and not be taken up by escorting somebody small for a poo, hoovering, doing laundry and general tedium...grin
1 wish - for there to be more time in the day
Just tasted like normal cauli. Kids all ate it too! (now that makes it sound like I have many children - we took it to a friend's house for dinner) (now that makes it sound like we took the cauli to dine with us - not so. just to add to the dinner)

One wish today - that DH, who has just gone out, would come back in 2 mins, having bought me a caramel at the garage, then go.

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)
For a big grin, , type [grin] or :o
For a wink, , type [wink]
For a shocked face, , type [shock]
For an angry face, , type [angry]
For an embarrassed face, , type [blush]
For a sad face, , type [sad] or :(
For an envious face, , type [envy]

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
