briteside - can you do some park runs instead? Only 5k but they are free and have a great atmosphere, as well as giving you accurate timings and your rank for a woman your age among all park runners nationally. It's really well run.
Hi Duchess I know how you feel. I started running in October after 49 years of never running, so still don't feel like a runner, even though I love it and run 3-5 times a week 3-6k each time. Currently training for an 8k (5 mile) race locally. In October last year I was struggling to do C25K. Stick at it.
Runners - can you help with two questions please?
I am stocky anyway and my calves are getting even stockier from running. Any way to avoid this?
Also, I'm quite heavy on my feet. I can get round this by running with a very short stride but if I ever try to lengthen it, even a little, I get heavy again. Any advice on how to run more lightly on my feet? Thanks.
