This is a continuation of the "More ongoing and continuing conceptions and follicling ahead of Feisty, Fabulous Forty somethings"

I thought I would keep the title short as there are so many long ones out there.

I thought I would start the new thread so that you don't forget me Grin

OP posts:
randomimposter · 16/11/2010 11:46

GG we could never forget you. Don't go, stay!

Nice snappy thread title too. x

Diege · 16/11/2010 12:23

Hi all. Thanks for new thread GG - you know that means you must stay now don't you? Wink
Gum you could be me with the way your mind works...symptoms sound good to me, and I wouldn't necessarily expect a strong line at the moment, just a line of some sort, so don't read too much into that!
Back from scan and all clear. It's a 'complete miscarriage' which is the best I could hope for, and the lining of the womb looks 'nice and thin' which is what they like to see. Everything else (ovaries etc) looks fine too, and have been told to wait for one period then can start again. The nurse there was lovely and has told me to ring her if/when I get a bfp again and she will arrange an early scan, so feel better that I have a plan (I need plans!!!)
Let's hope that by the time we need a new thread we have a long list of grads to inspire us on!

AlbaDeTamble · 16/11/2010 12:34

Hi Diege, you know they only tell you to wait for more convenient, easy dating... If you know when you Ov, which most of us are pretty acutely aware of, there's no real reason to wait... Unless of course they clarified some other reason?

Nice thread title... No mention of TTC, so I'm popping in feeling slightly less guilty at a big huge 33 weeks gone!

Diege · 16/11/2010 12:36

Oh and inspiring story from the epu. 48 year old woman there for scanning at 6wks preg. All is going well from the scan to her (and the nurses') amazement) - first time pregnant after 4 ivf failed attempts etc etc in her 30s; she thought it was the menopause. So despite bad odds (90% mc rate Shock) things can be ok!

Diege · 16/11/2010 12:38

Don't feel guilty Alba, you're our carrot!
Hmmm I see what you mean about dates etc and ttc again. I'll see how I feel come ovulation - at the moment I need a bit of a break I think, but ask me at EWM time and I may be raring to go Grin

AlbaDeTamble · 16/11/2010 12:50

Diege I felt just the same in early April, hence the ski trip and ignoring all ttc rules! Quite proud in a funny kind of way that I learned to ski whilst pg....
Probably best not to think about it and just take care of yourself right now. It does feel really rubbish, I do remember it did take big last minute holiday to pick me up.

Just remember no need to worry if you are raring to go at ewm time.

Loved the candle on the chip btw... Smile

hippychick66 · 16/11/2010 12:59

Hello all. At last a nice short thread name!!

diege glad all ok. That was over quickly (meant in a good way - but probably sounding wrong).

Shit at work today. Found out there are 2 more preggers in the team - one sits behind me. Then the woman who had her baby a week after my lost one was due brought the baby in today. Much ooohing and aaahhing from all the women and much talking of scans, dates, contractions etc. Arrrghhhh!!!

My boobs feel sore but i am only at best 9 days post ovulation and at worst 7 days - so nothing to do but wait. I think my boobs just do this to get my hopes up.

feeling very negative today and thinking that even if i do get a BFP it will probably end in tears AGAIN! Sorry, I'll bugger off before i bring you all down.

ps. hiya alba that ski-ing trip seems forever ago.

pps. gum - if youi're 13 days post ov then your still not even due yet so try not to stress about the faint line. Wait a few days and maybe do the one with the words.

love to all. Sorry to be a grumpy OLD bag. xxx

BeattieBow · 16/11/2010 13:27

Hi all, I'm in a similar place to hippy - I think I'm pg every month. I had heartburn the other day and was quite excited!!

Diege good news from the scan - are you going to wait a month? I would find it very difficult to!

40somemum sorry you've had a rubbish time over the last couple of days.Hope you are getting through the other side now.

people on the bench (you know who you are!). everything crossed for you all. I sometimes think that it will be more stressful actually being pg. Waiting for things to go wrong. I can't imagine how I'm going to handle scans etc.

jolls welcome back. Have you seen E yet?

GG don't go away! We won't forget you. Anyway, apparently if you start a thread, you get lots of good luck (allegedly).

BeattieBow · 16/11/2010 13:40

I didn't mean that Hippy thinks shes pg every month, just that I am at around 8/9 dpo so that same stage!

(I think I'm pg every month though!).

Curlylox · 16/11/2010 13:52

Just popping in to say hi [smile) from work, lunch break soon finished.

Curlylox · 16/11/2010 13:54

Am keeping it short and sweet as don't want anyone in the office peering over my shoulder and reading this thread ssshhhh. They don't need to know my desire and others to get preggars....well not until it happens anyway Smile

tel1 · 16/11/2010 14:30

what does emsp stand for??

hippychick66 · 16/11/2010 15:57

emsp = egg meets sperm plan. It involves quite a lot of sex Shock. But tank likes it!!!

BB I knew what you meant my dear. I think my body really respnds to the progesterone in the second half of the cycle. I have heartburn and bigger boobs EVERY LP!!!

Still hoping we can get a BFP together.

love to diege. XXXXXXXXX

Diege · 16/11/2010 17:11

My resolve is already weakening and I think I may purchase some cheapy opks off ebay Back to work tomorrow, and still feeling shattered, but I'll be even more shattered longer term if I miss another day and the class miss their fascinating lecture on pressure groups tomorrow Hmm
Oh Hippy those boobs of your's Wink. Wouldn't it be great if it was the month? I'm sure you could squeeze a teeny amount of hcg onto a stick for us in the next day or two? From what I remember though you are surprisingly restrained in the poas dept? Grin
BB really hoping it's good news for you too SmileWill you test easrly d'you think? I agree that 'the bench' does seem a very scary prospect, but there's no avoiding that I suppose..At least we have a great support system here for before, during, and after bench occupation!
Better clear the breakfast things away and hunt out a jar of pasta sauce Blush. Am still amazed that things happened so quickly for me (pretty normal for it to all be gone 24-48hrs apparently Hmm). At least I can applaud my body for that!

BeattieBow · 16/11/2010 17:22

I'm not very restrained in poas though diege! I am tempted to start from 10dpo, but have resisted buying any sticks to try and hold off.

I must say, I don't actually have any symptoms, and don't really know when symptoms would start appearing. In my previous pgs I didn't start feeling sick until 6/7 weeks and don't remember tiredness etc hitting me before then.

tel1 smep was too much for my dh me sadly.

muchlove · 16/11/2010 19:06

Hey All

Thanks for starting the new threat GG - see you can't leave we need you- who will start threads and keep check of where we are in our cycles Grin
Diege Im glad the wait wasn't too long for you and your body sorted itself out on its own accord..... there is no reason to wait if you feel up to it, I only waited a cycle when my losses were at 7/8 weeks otherwise was straight back in there...... though it seems I am not one of those whose hormones are floating around still in a super-fertile PG state as I have never fallen the next month as some do x
40Somemum Hope you are ok and over the worse now ...... I know what u mean about catching yourself in the mirror and feeling/looking ancient.......

Hmm it seems my DH is always tired at the important time and I am not getting my timings right the last cupla months am getting soooo pissed off now that I want to call it a day and starve him of sex just in spite !!!
Bloody hell EMSP are distant memories for me now I need a WSUP- WAKE SPERM UP PLAN Gggggrrrhhh damn him and his stupid troops all lazy sitting around doing nothing in there !!!

Sorry for that outburst gotta go and do the tea now i will be back later

xx

Gotta cook dinner now but be back after

louisesh · 16/11/2010 20:32

Hi to curly, hippy, tank, jolls+olive waves at anyone I be missed!!!!! "olive" that's suppose to read I love!!!!

AlbaDeTamble · 16/11/2010 20:53

Big hug for you Louise

I just discovered mobile site, much easier to read on phone. here.
Once you're on the page you want, touch the + in the middle of the bar at the bottom of the screen, then choose 'add to home screen' and you get a mumsnet 'app'. You may know all that, but it was a revelation to me when I discovered it (was on discussion of the day this week)... Refreshing is quicker and reading much clearer than using usual webpage.

There, that's my practical advice because I'm not sure what to say to help emotionally... But getting it all out here I'm sure is good so I hope that link helps and you can keep up with us all more easily

Curlylox · 16/11/2010 21:41

Hey louise where there's a will there's a way to get on MN Grin Sorry you had a shit day but it's to be expected (not put so eloquently but heartfelt), so don't be too hard on yourself.
Ok ladies need your expertise here but it has nothing to do with TTC. It's that time of year again for school Christmas play and I'm the least creative/imaginative person ever (crap basically). Anyway my DD is a snowflake! It has to be white based and be sparkly if possoble. Come on throw the ideas at me please

louisesh · 16/11/2010 22:13

Thanks alba and curly this site is much easier.our new laptop was delivered today , but like everything at the moment, that's not right!!!! No

No software with it!!! So , now need to send it back.ever feel the worlds against you?

Right off for some more swi!!! Night all xx

gumblossom · 16/11/2010 22:22

Curly, big piece of white card, cut out nice snow-flakey bits, glue and silver glitter? Maybe tie it on the back, around the waist, or on the head????Or this onekidsfairycostume.org/

Well, feeling like maybe everything will be alright(but realise it is super early days) Digital says 1-2 weeks(yesterday afternoon) and first response this a.m was nice dark pink line. Maybe I can stop testing now.I think I may have (literally) peed on at least 20. FGS, I just love seeing 2 lines! But it is a serious waste of money, so will stop now and save money for nice clothes.

Deige, glad to hear the scan showed things to be on the right track and hopefully you'll be back in the ttc saddle asap and joining us on the bench.

I'm thinking of all you Feisty women. You've been such a great support. Smile

gumblossom · 16/11/2010 22:23

Curly, you'll have to scroll down the page for the snowflake fairy.

Italiangreyhound · 17/11/2010 01:06

Greetings ladies or are you all wimmin?

I wanted to say hi and it is traditional to say nice place you have here.....and then to comment on the long/short name!

I ahve a nose running like a tap, big rows with DD and no energy so will keep it short.

Hippy sorry about the carpola today.

Louise please keep going. Just keep on and eventually it will not seem so hard, I don;t know personally but that seems to be the message from people who suffer like this, that it does get easier. I really don't mean that to sound flippant at all.

Diege glad it was as you expected.

Just a funny note from the TV programme QI - did you know that until about 1920something the colour for boys was pink and for girls was blue! Lots of talk on tonight's QI about how to have a boy or girl. Apparently eating a lot of cereal makes it more likely to be one or the other! Yes, we are all shouting at the TV, we'd just like one any shape/size and coloured hat please!

love to you all fiesty/forty/fabbi wimmin Grin

Italiangreyhound · 17/11/2010 01:08

Sorry Hippy that is CRAPola not carpola!

louisesh · 17/11/2010 10:22

Thanks albathis makeslifea lot easier.hope you are well?

italiangreythanks it's the only thing you can do is keep going.some days very, very hard others are just hard.cantlet Georgie have been in vanishes to precious.I be stopped thinking of the future just in small bite Sizes to make it allmore managable.the only thing o can visualise is a future with our baby.
