If you have a referral link for a website, do post it on this thread

A reminder not to use affiliate links in the thread.

Please do watch the thread rather than post to mark place to make it easier for everyone to keep up and find relevant info.

See post 2 for some (hopefully) useful links.

How to do click links -

Do two [[

Paste in your link without a space between the [ and the start of the link
Do one space at the end of the link
Write what you want to appear instead of the link
Put 2 ]] at the end without a space between the end of the word(s) at the end and the ]]
So it looks like www.reastieschristmasbargains.co.uk click here but with no space between the and the start of the link and the next to the here

I hope that makes sense…

Present tracking apps might be of interest eg Santas bag, gift list.

Here are some useful websites:

Amazon free delivery tool here

Aliexpress www.aliexpress.com here . Useful tips here from sorryiasked: Aliexpress is a Chinese site that sells everything! Assume all branded stuff is fake. I personally wouldn't buy baby toys or electronics from there as I don't have faith in the product safety. But for fan merchandise, dolls clothes, "lego", household items etc it's great. Check the size guide on clothes and lower your expectations!
Use a seller who has a 4.5 star rating or higher.

You can pay via PayPal and there is an excellent tracking system, but be aware express postage is usually 2-3 weeks and standard postage up to 2-3 months.

Bargainmax here

Camelcamelcamel is a brilliant site that tracks prices on amazon here

Lisa angel sale is popular when on, apparently arrive nicely packaged too here

Magazine subscription offers here and here

Netpricedirect has discount toys and party bits here although be aware reviews of the site is mixed

Toys for a pound here

Any additional websites or recommendations to add - just let me know Grin . I should add something about Ali express maybe as we’ve had that before…will get my brain thinking about what other sites/products have been popular.

Has anyone got an order waiting from pound toy ? I placed an order over a month ago and got an email a couple of weeks later on 21st November saying delivery would be delayed because of warehouse issues (in fairness, it sounds like they've had a nightmare moving warehouses) but they anticipated it would arrive before Christmas. I didn't appreciate them saying: 'If you email us more than once your message will automatically get pushed further down the inbox.'

I chased it up last week (at the risk of getting further down their inbox as it'd been a month since ordering) and was told they're still working through orders and didn't mention whether it would arrive before Christmas. It's got half DCs stocking presents in and I'm now getting very itchy as I have a suspicion it won't come in time. My fault - I got confused with pound toy (never ordered with) and toysforapound (have been great in the past). I'm not sure whether to hold out or cancel and panic order elsewhere.

Good luck! I’d rebuy already, I think there’s going to be a lot of last minute frantic grabbing in tiger this year!

Mince314s · 17/12/2022 19:27

Ah, back to normal. Did we really have a whole thread free of clangers?!

I've not done pound toy but am waiting for a few orders too. Did a quick actual in person shop this week to make sure everyone had something so hopefully that helps. The most annoying bit is everything has taken so long by I can't switch stuff that's not great quality now despite ordering some of it weeks ago.

In my last minute online buying I got the chocolate shaker recommended here with the discount code welcome25 for 25% off and because I got distracted checking out they sent me a code for a free bar of chocolate that stacked so with the free delivery it was about £22 for shaker plus flakes and bar delivered.

ChristmasCwtch · 17/12/2022 19:38

@Mince314s hope the shaker arrives quickly!! I bought a couple during Black Friday offer and they look great 😊

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 17/12/2022 19:52

Could someone pretty please PM me a Lakeland code? Someone used the one from the last thread

ChristmasCwtch · 17/12/2022 19:53

I put this on another thread, but sharing my woes/rant here too 😂

A personalised item I ordered from Etsy has arrived… with the wrong spelling 😭🤦🏼‍♀️

Fucks sake!!! Surely the seller would double and triple check against the original order raaaaaaaahhhhh

So now I’ve asked them to resend it on Monday. Which will most likely not arrive in time. Pissed off!!

Workyticket · 17/12/2022 19:54

@Mince314s can I ask where the chocolate shaker is from please?

Amazonmulu · 17/12/2022 20:23

Can anyone recommend budget straighteners that work really well? SILs GHDs died last week and I'd like to buy her some new ones but can't quite stretch to brand new GHDs 🙈🙈🙈

MayaTheBusyBee · 17/12/2022 20:39

Regarding NSPCC santa letters, we got ours yesterday if that helps

Us too

WineandDine · 17/12/2022 20:51

@Reastie I’m waiting on my Pound Toy order too, placed 1st December. I saw the notes on their website re warehouse and obviously am aware of RM strikes but thought 3 weeks would be reasonable time to expect delivery 🤷🏼‍♀️.
Think I will need to make contingency plan for stocking fillers on Monday.

WhistlingInWhistler · 17/12/2022 20:55

Re straighteners, I've got Kipozi ones and they're brilliant. Not sure if they'd fit the bill as they aren't a 'brand', but I'm very happy with them.

Has anyone any last minute bargain gift inspiration for DH from DS17? DS is struggling massively (not surprisingly as DH is near impossible this year!) and has asked for help. Budget up to around £30, but I could contribute a little if the right gift is just over.
DH is very outdoorsy, ex military but has had a horrendous year health wise so can’t access outdoors much, and no idea if/ when things will improve. He’s gained a lot of weight through inactivity so clothes may not be the best idea (would need 4xl too which is hard to find… though if thumb loops were involved it might work). He’s bought a switch to pass time and loved Zelda and Pokémon arceus, so similar open world games might work if there are any. He has books, dressing gown, aftershave, sweets and a board game from me/ the other kids. Are there any suggestions for a gift that might work?

There's a new Pokémon game out if he liked Arceus. Get Scarlet or Violet. They are almost the same.

Howmanysleepsnow · 17/12/2022 21:49

he bought himself scarlet, but that would’ve been a good suggestion otherwise.

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 17/12/2022 22:16

Thank you @lolarabbit code is so much appreciated xx

TheresNoTelescreen · 17/12/2022 22:41

NSPCC letter arrived today here so hopefully others won't be waiting much longer

lolarabbit · 17/12/2022 22:48

@Howmanysleepsnow Might he be interested in building something? Both adult son and BIL have taken to making woodcraft kits and find them relaxing and satisfying. Lots of options and you might find a model that would fit in with another interest. This is one my son did recently and is about right price.

InDreamland · 17/12/2022 23:01

Reposting here in case it's missed on the last thread.
Blade and Rose's winter sale has started. Up to 70% off. I love their thick leggings for keeping my little ones warm in the winter, their outfits are gorgeous.

BloodyMabel · 17/12/2022 23:55

@Howmanysleepsnow Depending on his health how about one of the more active Switch games they could play together? Like switch sports or Mario party?

Howmanysleepsnow · 18/12/2022 00:17

Something they could play together sounds good, but he wouldn’t manage that level of activity yet.

IDontDrinkTea · 18/12/2022 06:35

Would he enjoy one of the adult Lego kits?

Tesco are doing 20% off their gift cards, one of which is curry’s. Many different ones, including hotels, restaurants and general shopping ones. Offer ends today.
