To think i must be a miserable old cow with regards to all the hilarity on the recent threads

I mean, people are ROARing with laughter - literally wetting themselves, crying with the hilarity of it all. hmm

There must be something wrong with me because, yes, i think its funny mildly amusing and i enjoy reading the threads but can't be arsed to wade through the yoni stuff and will post that i think its funny or try and contribute but im a miserable cow so never find anything funny to say

Also the threads would be much shorter an easier to read if folk were to refrain from posting their reaction "oh i have just wet myself" <<best thread ever>> type posts. Then everyone else thinks that they hve to keep up "oh, ive just popped a hernia i've laughed so much"

I love the funny threads, really i do, but i can't seem to muster more than a wry smile. Is it just me???

FanjoForTheMammaries Sat 13-Apr-13 04:36:04

I did think it seemed out of character and unlike you smile

FanjoForTheMammaries Sat 13-Apr-13 04:34:59

Ah..sorry..my SoH tends to fail at 430am grin

TheRealFellatio Sat 13-Apr-13 04:30:39

Was that to me Fanjo? I was only joking. Of course I wouldn't demand that they stop on my account. I just don't respond if I find it tedious. Also as people join all the time and trawl through archives/classics they might be seeing it for the first time and thinking it's all hilair, which is was once, but I find it hard to muster a smile after the 98th time.

FanjoForTheMammaries Sat 13-Apr-13 04:28:47

LyingWitch..re your comments..that was a much kinder way of putting it, the way you said it second time, yes.

FanjoForTheMammaries Sat 13-Apr-13 04:27:11

I genuinely don't think you can/should tell/ask people to stop joking around in a way they find funny just because you don't agree.

TheRealFellatio Sat 13-Apr-13 04:02:48

I truly am a miserable cynical cow, but I genuinely laugh to the point of tears over things I read on here sometimes.

Me too. I snorted and choked and practically needed oxygen on some of them. But usually you have to be there. Spin off threads and endless mentions are rarely funny.

I get particularly weary of seeing a very funny thread where someone, eager to join in on the wit and banter, gleefully contributes with 'Fruit Shoots and Gregg's sausage rolls. Hahahaha' Or shouts the word cunt over and over.

hmm

Maybe once, three or four years ago I laughed, but now, not so much. Stop please.

I don't 'get' them either confused

Pandemoniaa Fri 12-Apr-13 17:17:39

I've been surprised to find that there were other people who aren't Morcambe and Wise fans, I thought I was the only one.

Add me to the list, please. I couldn't stand them.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe Fri 12-Apr-13 17:07:02

When you get back from soft play, Fanjo... as you've quoted from my post twice...

The 'club' is not royalty or a clique. I'm referring to a 'them and us' that develops on many threads - call it 'for and against' or whatever you like. This isn't a very 'live and let live' community, you either agree with a standpoint or you don't. Posters seem very keen to 'label'. For every view that people shouldn't post on a thread they don't like the look of is the alternate view that is just as valid but is no reflection on anybody.

There have been multiple threads on the same thing. I find that pretty tedious, whether they're about Margaret Thatcher or a meme/joke. I don't bitch about in PMs, FB or anywhere else but say it here, in the open.

It's easy to take posts out of context but I'm not getting at anybody for what they like/don't like, I really don't have a view on what other people find funny or not. I've been surprised to find that there were other people who aren't Morcambe and Wise fans, I thought I was the only one.

Meh.

My Mum claims that all the Chinese food in our area had been pissed on!

Its because she once saw some veg left outside one Chinese take-away and assumed a dog might just cock his leg!

whenever I suggested we have it for tea, she claimed that is how it would taste.

I know that is not chips

LadyBeagleEyes Fri 12-Apr-13 16:59:02

Sorry Lucy, reading back not you blush.
Just a couple of other posts.

alistron1 Fri 12-Apr-13 16:58:40

I love the silly things people have said/done threads. They have actually had me crying with laughter. Can we have another one of those please?!

JamieandtheMagicTorch Fri 12-Apr-13 16:58:03

Me too, i love LEM. When i first joined, one of her posts was the first i went on. Years ago.

FanjoForTheMammaries Fri 12-Apr-13 16:57:20

I am not upset with OP at all, or this thread, just comments like the one I quoted.

FanjoForTheMammaries Fri 12-Apr-13 16:57:02

moonabove, yes , that quote is from this thread. I posted after that.

FanjoForTheMammaries Fri 12-Apr-13 16:56:41

xposted..I know what you meant LEM..you werent trying to piss on anyones chips smile

usualsuspect Fri 12-Apr-13 16:56:34

I wasn't talking about the OP either.

Lots of things I don't find funny on here that others find hilarious, I don't think others find it funny because they want to fit in or be part of the 'in crowd' though.

moonabove Fri 12-Apr-13 16:56:22

Are those quotes from this thread? If so then i've missed them and I certainly didn't take the thread in that way.

The OP said "*i am not spoiling for a fight, honest, i genuinely feel a bit like i am missing something. Its not just here, its even watching comedy on TV*" That was the line I was following and I don't understand why people have come on here to get all upset about nothing.

FanjoForTheMammaries Fri 12-Apr-13 16:56:19

Must point out I really like the OP as a poster and my comments were not directed at her

Lucyellensmum95 Fri 12-Apr-13 16:55:56

LBE - this isn't about the Yoni thread stop making me type that word! I think they are all really really funny, the threads, i do, i just never laugh out loud and i feel im missing something. I certainly don't want to make anyone feel bad fanjo

FanjoForTheMammaries Fri 12-Apr-13 16:54:15

Now I am going to wake my DD and force her to go to soft play..what fun.

Don't roast my arse too much in my absence please wink

Pandemoniaa Fri 12-Apr-13 16:53:53

I have seen someone's chips being pissed on as it happens Exit. But then I blame them for putting them down momentarily on the grass when the dog was still a pup. His attitude was always "If I don't know what it is, best I piss on it".

FanjoForTheMammaries Fri 12-Apr-13 16:53:45

YoniLC, you are so right smile
