just wondering what age you left your baby for first time over night? ive left my 4.5mth dd with my parents or his during the day before when working, but never over night and on the 29th my oh sisters party is a hours drive away and we would have to stay over night and leave my dd with my mum, i think we going to go but still feel little bad about leaving her all day and night, going to miss her laods and its not like im that near, so was just interested to see when evryone else left their babies over night for first time?

Around 9 months for one night (it was a good friend's hen night, and DS stayed with grandparents who he knows well).

Ds1 is 20months and I've never left him overnight.

Same with ds2 (12weeks)

Not through lack of trying though Grin

Think it would be like loosing a limb now. I've been with both of them 24/7 since the day they were born.

Ds was 11 months - dry run for going to my sisters wedding and staying overnight a month later. It has to be right for you and your child so if you think she will be happy with your mum then go.

I left mine with my parents pretty much as soon as they were sleeping through the night. I decided that if they were used to it, if there was an emergency and I had to leave them they wouldn't be overly stressed by the experience.

DD was three and a half when I first left her overnight. Couldn't bring myself to do it any earlier! PFB! Blush

I think everyone is different, and something like this is about what you feel comfortable with.
I've never left DD overnight (she will be 3 next week), but I've often gone out to events in the evening (more than an hour away leaving someone else to put her to bed, and then got back very late at night when she's been asleep. Although having said that, she was breastfed to sleep and wouldn't take a bottle, so she would have been over a year old.

I left DS (my PFB) overnight with my mum when he was 7 weeks old. I'm obviously a heartless bitch haha! And we left him for 4 nights with my mum when we went on honeymoon when he was 4mo.

At 16.5 months - was at the weekend! I only stopped BFing last month and the opportunity of a night out came up and figured that was as good a time as any. It was great - I had a lovely long lie on the Saturday and he slept through the night at his GPs. We all had a lovely time! Xmas Grin

11 weeks for DS1. he had colic and reflux, screamed every night from 6pm until 1am and didn't nap in the day. i was burnt out. gave my mum loads of expressed milk, left him there at 10pm, went home, slept until 5am (one expressing session in middle) and was back there for 6am.

did it out of total and utter desperation for a 'night off'.

ds1 is 9 months and i haven't left him overnight yet. but then it's never taken 6-7 hours on and off to get him off to sleep! not planning on leaving him soon either.

13 months...and she stayed with her Granny for 10 days.
They have got on like a house on fire ever since.

18 months as soon as I stopped bf with dd and 12 months for ds.

It really isnt like losing a limb - its more like getting a good nights sleep and waking up naturally as opposed to being dragged awake at 5.30. Honest.

ds was 2.3 years Blush and it was the night I went in to have dd... with dd I left her one night when she was 8 months old and it was dh and my 40th birthdays (but I did bf at bedtime, and rush over first thing in the morning to bf her again before my boobs exploded so really she was only away from me for about 14 hours)

ds1 was just over 1yr when we first left him overnight- he was with his nan who dotes on him.

ds2 was about 6mths and left with my sis who is looks and sounds just like me and DS2 was totally happy with.

I could relax with both options to be honest, if I couldn't then I wouldn't have left them.

ds1 about 8 months - he was at home with DH but i was doing night shifts. does that count?

ds2 about 2.2 years for a night away with DH. had longer off work then no nights. he was/is a rubbish sleeper and only wants mummy if he wakes.

ds3 now 6 months, not left day or night yet, except for 40 mins for school run in the snow 2 weeks ago when i left him with neighbour.

DS1 was two and a half when I left him overnight for the first time.

DS2 is just two and no plans to leave him overnight just yet.

If people are happy to leave their babies sooner then that's fine, but for me it didn't feel right.
