Hi ,Ive been doing sw extra easy for a week now ,had my weigh in and have lost 2 lbs .
Most other people in the group have lost 4 or 5 lbs so am i doing it wrong? i have not used hardly any syns and been swimming twice and gym twice.

My leader always tells us we should use our Syns - at least 5 - and be careful of hidden syns in things like yoghurt, non fresh fruit etc. Saying that, 2lbs is the ideal weight loss - it's sustainable.

Lots of my group lose 6lb+ a week but to be honest they're much, much larger than me which I think can make a difference. I've been doing it for 7 weeks and have lost 15lbs - that could be you in a few weeks. I can totally feel the difference.

Thanks yes your right i don't have that much to loose and a lot of the ladies do so that's probably the difference.
I'm a bit confused about the extra easy , if i made the chilli which says to have a side salad with would i have to have the side salad ,could i have fruit for afters instead?
If i had beans on toast would i have to have a salad with it or again would it work if i had some fruit after?

The best extra easy rule to stick to is to make sure you have 1/3 super free food. So yes, I would have the salad with chilli.

I think the best thing you can do is not compare yourself to anyone else. This is your weight loss journey and other people may lose less or more than you one week. Theirs could be more water or maybe they'll not lose much next week. Don't pressure yourself or you might end up not sticking to it. 2lb a week is a sensible loss. This is one of the things I hated about sw - the comparing and competition of loss. WW doesn't do this but I prefered the sw diet.

Thanks, that's the thing i don't like about the meetings the leader goes round the group saying what they have lost but doesn't mention how much they weigh and it does seem like a bit of a contest.

I have just rejoined slimming world online because I love the diet but HATE the meetings! So boring and tedious! Good luck. Would like to lose 2lb a week. wink

Hi - Iv only been on sw extra easy since last tues - weighed myself this morn and Iv not lost anything- been really good in relation to 1/3 super free foods nd hardly any syns do I'm a lil disheartened ideally I'd like to lose 2 1/2 stone!!! sad

I didnt lose anything the first week and a half but then it came off.I fell off the wagon massively this weekend due to Cheltenham races,lots of champagne,hangover munchies and now mothers day-chocs. Im getting back on it tomorrow though,i think its slow going for some of us but im sticking with it cos i cant do tiny meals grin

Hmm, not sure about SW or any other of these weight loss groups. Did slimming world on the lose weight feel great scheme before Christmas and lost nearly a stone, but have put it all back on and some since leaving. Got talking to some of the ladies during the meetings and some of them had been going for 4 years which made me think how much money they must have spent and how ineffective it had been as they still had a lot to lose (their words, not my opinion). So think a lot of it comes down to how motivated you are and what is going on in your life that may be making you reach for food as a form of comfort. First few weeks are usually the biggest weight loss - but again it depends on how much weight you have to lose, as the ladies who seemed to lose 4, 5 & 6 lbs in their first few weeks were looking at losing 3 or 4 stone in total. The most sucessful slimmers seemed to be the ones who got to grips with the syn free foods and used them to the max combined with increasing the amount of exercise they did. Good luck with your weight loss - losing a steady 2lb or so a week is great work.

03angels - Don't weigh yourself at all just wait till your weigh in as all scales differ ,i'm 5lbs lighter on my scales than the slimming world ones!!
I agree i don't have a lot to loose and have the exercise nailed just needed to overhaul my diet ,so slow and steady is the way to go !.

I have lost 4 and a half stone in 7 months on SW. Aiming to lose another half to get to my goal of 5 stone loss. Some weeks I lose 3 lbs some weeks half a pound although I do more or less the same each week! I always have my 15 syns a day as my leader recommended using them all and it seems to work for me. 2 lbs is a good loss in a week and if you keep at it, you will lose the weight lb by lb! Some people lose more in a week than others try not to worry about that as long as you are losing or not putting any weight on. Well done and keep at it! smile.

Thanks Angels , i have been terrible this week so maybe i would of lost more had i have been better.
