Massive warning at the start of this thread. I'm not a qualified meteorologist, just a very keen amateur. I do frequently get things wrong and sometimes I miss things when life gets very busy (which it is rather atm) But, I'll do my best to give people a heads up to snow forecasts as we get them, as long as you all promise not to sue/hate me when it all goes horribly wrong.

So first area to highlight is the western side of Scotland including the highlands and part of central Scotland. Met office have warnings Sunday/into Monday

Also very worth being aware that towards the end of this week, hilly parts of northern England including the Pennines (and perhaps welsh hills too?) may well get some snow by the end of the working week.

I would like snow here in south Kent please (asking the impossible). Just out of interest, quite often the forecast for northern France is more accurate where I live than the one for the southeast corner. Any chance of snow in Calais?

CherrysOnTheNaughtyList · 03/12/2011 12:39

as always, i would love snow!!!! made slightly easier this year by the fact that my dad has bought a 4wd and has snow tires so if it does snow just before xmas, mum will still be able to get here to take me food shopping and i wont have to spread food shopping for 10 people over 3 days doing a 40 minute each way journey with a sled.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/12/2011 12:45

Birmingham here. I would like it to start snowing on December 23rd, give us a lovely covering for the 24th and 25th and then disappear entirely on the morning of the 26th please. I have a packet of mince pies and some Baileys waiting for the BadBadReindeer who can ensure that!

mankyscotslass · 03/12/2011 12:51

It wont snow here - I have snow shovels and grit and salt ready to go!

redlac · 03/12/2011 13:30

habbibu · 03/12/2011 13:34

Hmm. Some heavy clouds over the hills towards Perth...

OhYouBadBadReindeer · 03/12/2011 16:49

For baileys I would try to achieve anything required!
No snow apparent in Calais yet Pascha!

Please reassure me there will no snow between now and Thursday in the Heathrow region and the whole area from there round to Kingston/Tolworth/Sutton - thanks!

Yama · 03/12/2011 16:59

Would be a welcome break from the relentless rain and howling winds. It's been about a week and I'm sick of it.

OhYouBadBadReindeer · 03/12/2011 17:04

Stinkyfeet - I can reassure you of that :)
