Beauty Advent Calendars *spoiler alert - contents discussed within thread*

Is it too soon for a thread on these? I remember last year they were all coming out or going on sale in September so not too far off.

I got the spacenk one last year and it was first ever beauty advent calendar and I loved it. Still using some of the products and have gone to purchase at least five items in full size, two of them multiple times.

This year I'll get the spacenk one again but might also go for the cult beauty as well.

Title amended by MNHQ to alert folk to the presence of spoilers within the thread.

I've only had the M&S one and the Holland and Barrett one.

M&S is the only one I'd get again.

Coniferhedge · 23/07/2022 18:42

I’m in! I think reveals started about mid August last year. I had the ASOS one last year and really liked it.

GettingStuffed · 23/07/2022 19:13

I'm not going to have one this year. I'm still using the handcream

Gazelda · 23/07/2022 19:19

I had the Holland and Barratt last year. I wouldn't have it again as quite a few of the items were quite 'niche'. But I'd definitely be interested in one from another retailer. I'll be following this thread for recommendations.

Talisin · 23/07/2022 19:26

According to Marie Claire, calendars from The White Company and Neal’s Yard are imminent.

bloodyunicorns · 23/07/2022 19:41

I've had the M&S one twice and I love it. I'm going to buy it again this year.

Kitkatsareace · 23/07/2022 19:42

I’ve had the rituals one and the Decleor one the last couple of years and will definitely have them again.

JulesJules · 24/07/2022 00:13

I had the M and S one last year and I'll get it again if they do it this year. I got the Holland and Barrett for D1 at university and she really liked it, so I might get it for her again this year. The other one I sent D1 was the Degusta box (food treats) - I might get that for home this year. D2 had the BarryM nail polish one which she loved so I'll get her another makeup one this year too

OchonAgusOchonOh · 24/07/2022 00:20

Can't believe it's that time of year again!

I had M&S and one made from some CB beauty edits last year. Might go for CB this year.

prinnycessa · 24/07/2022 00:25

I've had The White Company one before, absolutely loved it!

Harvey Nicks and Penhaligon are supposed to be really good ones too

MidnightMeltdown · 24/07/2022 00:35

Fortnum & Mason usually do a pre-order at some point in August. I've had it every year and it's always been my favourite.

I really need to be restrained this year as I still have so many products!

I ended up with 5 last year 🙈.

I only intended to buy 2, but then space nk had a good discount on theirs. I then bought 2 more very cheap after Christmas, so in my defence, I only bought 2 full price!

I've only used up 72 products so far this year, which is barely even 3 calendars worth, so I clearly didn't need that many!

ithoughtisawapuddycat · 24/07/2022 08:51

I bought the mygel advent from Amazon last month as it was on offer and I've just started doing my own gel manicures at home. 12 polishes for £30 was a bargain.

jo Malone was great last year

LateMumma · 24/07/2022 09:14

I loved the Next one last year, will definitely be buying it again

AdriannaP · 24/07/2022 09:30

I bought the cowshed one in the sale and loved it. Still using some of the products.

Twinsandsome · 24/07/2022 09:38

So excited to see this thread pop up 🥰 I had space nk last year and loved it the 90£ medik8 eye cream made it worth it alone for me last year and I loved the boy smells candle which I’d never tried before and the dr Dennis gross pads where fab too xx

ithoughtisawapuddycat · 24/07/2022 10:07

@twinsandsome I loved the medik8 eye cream but not repurchased yet. I have bought the Dr Strum hyaluronic serum but only because I got it in a set (won't pay the £235 full price). Also on my third tube of the Charlotte Tilbury mascara and have bought loads of the fresh lip balm. The only thing I didn't like was the Laura Mercier primer so gave that to a friend.

I loved the Cult Beauty one last year and will definitely go for that again. Interested in Space NK after seeing recommendations here.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 24/07/2022 10:38

I bought DD the Glossybox one and she loved it.

MorrisZapp · 24/07/2022 10:40

I'm trying to resist. They're a packaging/ plastic nightmare and lots of small sizes makes for more waste.

I might get the Lumene one though, it's really excellent value and I can always find takers for the bits I don't like.

Xiaoxiong · 24/07/2022 11:02

I was given the John Lewis one and loved it and will repurchase some products in the full size now that I've had a bit of a test (eg sunday Riley good genes) and know that others don't really knock my socks off (aug bader rich cream).

Yerroblemom1923 · 24/07/2022 11:06

I bought DD the Glossybox one last year and while she liked at the time she doesn't think it was worth the price so we're looking for something similar, as in for teenagers, but better value this year, so watching this thread with anticipation.

bluekostree · 24/07/2022 11:08

I love the M&S one (actually bought it twice last year).

GallopingGreen · 24/07/2022 11:32

I've had the M&S one in previous years and liked it. Has anyone tried the Liberty Beauty one? The packaging looks fab and I'd love to get my sister a special present.... anyone know if it's worth the price?

PomRuns · 24/07/2022 17:39

Ha @OchonAgusOchonOh and @MidnightMeltdown let’s enable each other ! I’m used so much up this year on the back of the beauty thread.

i loved fortnums last year. Liberty I think got a bit samey but @GallopingGreen it’s a lovely treat - I’m sure you’re sister would like it.

my top 3 would be: fortnums, Liberty, John Lewis. M and S is also good value generally. I’ll try not to buy 4.
