Hello Voguettes! Thread 45 already!
Not sure if any of you still remember me...it's been a while... I have missed you!
Finished work early (homeworking today) and last time I looked at the thread was in early August...lovely to see everyone on top form, love the style history, the home decor and of course what you are all planning for AW.
Not much to report, apart from usual travelling/work, but also lots of breaks in August in north Norfolk which were just perfectly chilled.

Work going tits up, all my European projects going wrong, no time to even look at what I might need for AW. Feeling meh and a bit fat and old right now. Your attitude is always a tonic!

On the plus side: I was in a Barcelona bus trip last week, the weather balmy/still high summer temperatures, and for a change managed to catch up with family in the evening (very rarely do I get to mix pleasure with business trips).
I wore these trousers with high heel sandals, which I got in the Boden sale, with a plain linen T when I went out for a huge paella on the beach after work with my cousins.
www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Clearance/Womens-Trousers-Jeans/Trousers/WM360/Womens-Sorrento-Ankle-Skimmer.html

And this necklace from AmritaSingh which matched the green part of the patterned trousers (and sandals) perfectly.

I still have a tan, and dreading the cold weather! Have boots and winter coat still unworn bought in the spring/summer sales.

Need a bit of cheering up so will keep an eye on your lovely posts. Thanks

SoyYo · 11/09/2014 17:29

shop I also owe you an apology, I felt really awful about alarming you with the Ryanair tales, and that is why I didn't come back for a little while (then life just sort of took over). I realised after I posted how I must have worried you!!
Hope you had a lovely holiday Flowers

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 11/09/2014 17:31

Flowers for you SoyYo, hope things get better soon. Lovely to "see you" :)

So continuing on from Amber's rockstud beauties, these fell into my outnet basket earlier...

SoyYo · 11/09/2014 17:38

Thanks for remembering me Blair.
WOW at those shoes, love the electric blue and style! Hope they are keepers!

shopafrolic · 11/09/2014 17:47

SoYo apology not at all necessary - don't give it another minute's thought. RyanAir on this occasion were absolutely fine and the holiday was wonderful. I think I've said before how much I share your love of North Norfolk - sounds great. Hope things improve and welcome back.
Blair LOVE those for you

AmberNectarine · 11/09/2014 18:05

I knew it would be those Blair - I posted about them on a Facebook thread. If I hadn't just got the blue suede Wangs I would have had em.

MarshaBrady · 11/09/2014 18:41

I love going to work and coming back to a shiny new edition. Good one Shop

Soyo welcome back!

Blair they are fabulous.

MarshaBrady · 11/09/2014 18:44

Soyo it is a tonic here, I hope you keep posting, we'll keep distracting with lovely links Smile

Oven is in. Phew

One I feel for you, it's a pain without an oven, I hope you have a new one too very soon.

LinusDKD · 11/09/2014 18:52

Evening!

Marking my place for later. I have so much catching up to do!

SoyYo · 11/09/2014 19:23

Hey Marsha yes I need lots of entertaining! Work is no fun right now.
I am not even excited about doing any shopping (for myself at least) so will enjoy your links.

BTW on the style over the years, my love of fashion is down to my grandmother and mother.
My grandmother used to always have things on the go at the seamstress, when i was little she used to take me to the haberdashers (not sure if that is what they are in England, basically places full of wonderful fabrics, from linens and lace to broderie to velvet and satin silks, tulle, etc).
I would choose a fabric, and a pattern from the piles of Burda books, then accompany her on her twice weekly visits (I am not kidding) to the dressmakers and see all these confections come to life!
And my mother was a glamorous and beautiful woman, I remember spending hours watching her at her dressing table putting on the make up, the jewellery, the long gowns before an evening out.

And don't get me started on the jewel colours, and in those days the furs. A bygone age now.
I still have a crocodile old fashioned (Mary Poppins style with brass hardware) from the 50's that belonged to my dear grandmother.

It got me hooked on beautiful things for life, even if when they were alive they both despaired at my rebellious rock chick look.
But I never forgot all that. Just had to grow up a bit ...funny how one changes...I now agree with them completely! Wink

SoyYo · 11/09/2014 19:28

LOL! I don't have a crocodile but a crocodile 50's HANDBAG! Just in case you thought I was some kind of nutter keeping stuffed reptiles round the place...

bettykt · 11/09/2014 19:39

Thanks for the new edition Shop

Amber love the Rockstuds, great colour too. Oh and belated happy anniversary.

Welcome back Soyo sorry to hear work is not great at the moment but hope you manage to find time to dip in and get distracted. I also love North Norfolk too and hope to visit there more often.

Fierce shoes Blair wicked colour.

Glad you now have an oven Marsha bet it was difficult coping with out one. How did you manage without oven chips Grin

LinusDKD · 11/09/2014 20:12

Right, I think I have caught up.

A big wave to the newbies and old friends returning to MNV.

amber gorgeous rockstuds! I have seen a lot of them in the shops over the last year but yours must be one of the nicest I've seen.

Oh and that J Crew shirt is going on my Pin wishlist.

We bought some J Crew chinos for DH in London but I resisted the urge to pop next door to the women's shop. Wink

shop hope the AB's kick in soon!

novice great Paraty!

Love your Uniqlo shirt justa I think one of the AWO ladies bought it too.

dry looks like your leather skirt search is going to take a while. I do love the Baukjen one though.

Our trip to London was great! We ate way too much (dinner at Murano and breakfast at Aqua Shard were the highlights) and I did do a wee bit of shopping.

I bought a shock absorber running bra at John Lewis, running capris and running jacket at Niketown (how glamourous I actually waited outside for the shop to open on Monday. The Shame ), Another pair of Topshop
Leigh jeans in a black/blue wash and a pair Whistles boots and Manolo Blahnik heels.

I also went to Mount Street for the first time and had a look at Gianvito
Rossi and Céline (they had the same indigo Hobo I walked in with), I don't know why I never visited when I still lived in London.

LinusDKD · 11/09/2014 20:21

I know you are focusing on your leather skirt but how about this for your Christmas outfit this year?

LinusDKD · 11/09/2014 20:22

Don't like the way it's styled though on this website.

QueenCardigan · 11/09/2014 20:51

Love a new thread. Welcome back soy. Love your history. It'd be great to think I could inspire my dd like that somehow I doubt it.

Great shoes blair. What will you wear them with.
Sounds like you had a great time linus. There's nothing like some new sportswear to give you motivation. Every so often I will buy myself a new exercise top for that very reason.

linus you've made me think about a Christmas outfit. For the past couple of years we've had friends round for lunchtime drinks but this year we're going to theirs so definitely an excuse to dress up!

SoyYo · 11/09/2014 21:02

Thanks QueenC give your DD time, I was a wild child! Wink

And also another vote for the Uniglo shirt from Justa, when I get my mojo back I might order...
Like the skirt Linus very shiny!

dry have you looked at Muubaa? You know I have a bit of a thing for them, unfortunately no offers at the mo.

justasecond · 11/09/2014 21:16

Hello SoyYo I hope things improve soon on the work front. Your mum and grandmum sound very glam, love the sound of the jewel colours and long gowns.
welcome back Linus sounds like you had a great time, can we see your Manolos? Grin
Shop Hope you feel better soon and thanks for the tip re Gap khakis will check them out but maybe they are more for summer? I like the idea of trousers in winter but I am such a wuss when its cold and can't bear breezes round my legs.
Blair those shoes are beautiful, not too high and a stunning colour.
Missed delivery so no uniqlo shirt yet but after seeing Shops gorgeous AW one not sure I will like it as much..
Marsha glad you finally have a shiny new oven its a difficult thing to do without.

justasecond · 11/09/2014 21:23

I popped into Clarks today. I have never bought anyting for myself in there but am after some biker-ish boots for SR and cold days. I saw these which looked good on although I would prob have to have them taken in a bit for my sparrow legs
www.clarks.co.uk/p/26101052
what do you think? ok or not?
These would be my ideal but not prepared to pay that much. rag and bone although I prefer the dark brown colourway from a couple of years ago.
Anyone seen anything similar for less ? The problem is with my sparrow legs anthing too chunky looks wrong.

I like the Clarks boots Justa but can see they would need adjusting for very slim legs.

Welcome back SoyYo.

Pettys have arrived Yipee. They are lovely. Very pleased - have yours arrived Dry?

Had a charity shop score today rarely happens. A blue Paul and Joe Sister coatigan, double breasted. It looks like it was never worn. £35 - result. Smile. I thought of Linus as I bought it.

justasecond · 11/09/2014 21:59

Thats great Liberty how do you find the sizing? I am a 7 in shoes but usually a 6 in boots but I see the pettys come in half sizes so I may be a 6.5.

justasecond · 11/09/2014 22:00

Paul and Joe coatigan sounds fab. Yes I remember Linus had a lovely one too.
