Im starting the 30 day shred on Monday and ive seen alot of you have orderd it or are also starting monday.

Was wondering if it was a good idea to measure ourselfs in the top of our thighs, tummy, hips and whatever else in inchs to see how much we loose from where, also adding our height and weight aswell

we could put our measurements on before we start then update it after our 30 day shred?

I will measure myself over the weekend and update this thread in time for monday incase anyones intrested, or would just like to hear the results

Ooh yeah, sounds good! (Well, scary actually but trying to get some enthusiasm together over the weekend! Grin)

I'm hopefully starting on Monday too - providing DVD arrives in time. Sould get here tomorrow or saturday.

I'll sort out measurements over the wekend too

ElectricSoftParade · 25/02/2011 08:07

Good idea! Although am a bit Blush at the thought of putting my measurements on here... will do though and will be thrilled to see them going down.

Will be just put the "after" measurements after the 30 days or would every week give us a bit more hope?

bafanatheSober · 25/02/2011 08:09

I am in, it's been sitting on the shelf for a few weeks Blush. Not really going do any good there is it Grin

Will try to drill in some enthusiasm into me over the weekend, actually may try and get DD do it with me!

flier · 25/02/2011 08:24

I'd like to join in too, I need something to make me start it, as

  1. The DVD has been gathering dust since I bought it at the beginning of January.
  1. I did my measurements about a month ago
rusmum · 25/02/2011 08:26

I am in too- i had dvd 4-5 weeks looking at me, really must dust it off and crack on. This is just what I need to get/keep me going!!

anon80 · 25/02/2011 09:37

oh good, this is really going to help me keep going

Ok how about we put our measurements and update them every 10 days then??

I am actually DREADING monday arriving and me having to do this lol.

Hi, I started it yesterday but didn't use weights as I didn't realise I needed them...(it was knackering even without!)
I'll join you to start in earnest on Monday with weights.

Mine's still in the cellophane too. My excuse was that there is still soooo much junk left in the house that I MUST eat first (I have stopped buying it).

What weights do you need?

FrameyMcFrame · 25/02/2011 14:45

You just need two hand weights but it doesn't say how heavy they should be.
I did it again this morning using two tins of tomatoes...
Actually, it's really not that bad and I'm feeling the difference already after only two days. It's quite intense but each section only lasts a couple of minutes so you never get too out of breath.
I'm a convert!!!

AfternoonsandCoffeespoons · 25/02/2011 15:25

Well, DVD hasn't arrived yet although postman left an underpaid postage card so maybe thats it - Ebay seller so wouldn't be suprised.

southeastastra · 25/02/2011 15:27

i have some 1kg weights from tesco, they're great as they're bean filled so you can sort of squish them (when you're in pain Grin) i also have some 0.5kg from john lewis that i also use

tulpe · 25/02/2011 15:52

I will join you all :)

I used the dvd back in September and loved it. Only completed 10 days though Blush. I am sure something very important came up which prevented me from finishing the course!

I don't have handweights. I use 2 x 250ml bottles of water :)

rusmum · 25/02/2011 22:17

i have 2 2.5lb weights- will they do?

BreakOutTheKaraoke · 25/02/2011 22:39

I did this for around 8 days last month, and then decided to eat everything in sight for a few weeks instead. Going to start again on Monday, as I am also starting an OU course then so it will be a week of fresh starts!

BreakOutTheKaraoke · 25/02/2011 22:40

Sure they will rusmum, at least to start with. I used tins of tomatoes for first 5 days, still felt like crying.

catinboots · 25/02/2011 22:46

I've got it - done it sporadically, but could do with some inspiration to crack on with it daily.

How often will we measure? I'm crap at stuff like that. Work full time, 2 DCs etc.

Should we maybe measure every Sunday night or Monday morning and post then??

I use 5kg weights (but I have fairly good natural strength from years of working with horses)

catinboots · 25/02/2011 22:48

PS I'm quite happy to post my dirty post wine and takeaway weeekend stats on Sunday night?

Maybe weight, hips, waist and bust??

Evizza · 25/02/2011 23:11

I am starting The Shred on Monday too so I am in too Smile

catinboots · 25/02/2011 23:21

Right. I'll see you all back here Sunday night for the hiseous truth x

anon80 · 25/02/2011 23:47

yep sunday night it is, we will all put our measurements up then - including weight and height

sorry for the typos im Wine

bafanatheSober · 26/02/2011 08:28

Ok, definately in.
Will measure tomorrow, dont want to lose weight, just want to tone everything!

rusmum · 26/02/2011 16:52

well i need 2 stone off and 2 dress sizes ( does that equate?)

caughtinanet · 26/02/2011 16:57

Oooh can I join in, not sure about posting my details though Grin

I've seen lots of threads about the DVD and saw it today in Morrisons for £6 so thought it was worth a go.

Are there different versions - just wondering why it was so cheap.

TerrorFirmer · 26/02/2011 17:21

I'm on day three and am still alive - can I join?

I've been using tins of beans. Didn't want to commit to buying equipment Grin

can deffo feel the difference already. I want to get back into my size 14 jeans. Was a 12 pre DS nearly two years ago so am feeling really gloomy about my size.

Gillian strikes a great balance between being bossy and inspiring and being down-to-earth. No nonsense and really easy to follow. Some of it feels like I'm in a 4th form gym class and I should be wearing blue polyester knickers and a netball skirt Grin
