Hello,
Me and Wasabipeanut thought a specific thread for people in our boat may be nice- as lovely as the knicker checkers thread is and great support but a lot of the lovely knicker checkers are past the evil first trimester and for those of us that have just found out we are pregnant again post MC we thought it might be nice for us to have a sub lounge to huddle in and support each other in these very early stages where in a way we are still in denial about this pregnancy!

We don't have to post due dates or anything scary like that, just more a place to wobble with people going through it at same time.

So I will be only 4 weeks tommorrow and 40 days ago tommorrow I had an MMC at 10 weeks but emby died at 6/7 weeks. So am going to be petrified basically for at least the next 8 weeks and would love some handholding- especially as this time I am not telling anybody except DH and best mate. Parents need not know.

I'm here!

I am 4+3 and had an MMC at just under 10 weeks on late Jan. Mine hadn;t made it past about 5 and a half weeks

I got a scan at nearly 8 weeks, got told it was a non starter then had to wait for 2 weeks to actually miscarry.

Not the best start to the year.

Like Thandeka I am also staying schtum (not even my bestie will know!) until 12/13 weeks if all goes well.

Am even to scared to make a GP appt/call midwife to register and hopefully arrange an early scan.

ooops I know Happybump and Jardins may be interesting in hanging out for some handholding so I will try and get the thread title changed to 4-6 weeks or very early pregnancy or something.

You are 4 days ahead of me. I'm north london-ish so if near we could even do person to person support as bloody hell we need it and thats the worst thing about this- not being able to tell people when actually what you need is their support! I have got really superstitious about telling people- in that I think if I tell people it defo wont work again. But I have a dentist app tommorrow so will have to tell him, have post MC counselling next week so will probably have to tell her- prob may help? Will have to tell my accupuncturist next week too but I guess in a way these are all professionals.

I did phone my docs just to tell them today as I want it on my records so if it doesn't work again they will have to believe me and then I can get referrals for investigations if it happens for a third time (how cruel that they make you have three in a row before they will investigate). Oh but my docs are making me go in and see them on friday- boo- I don't want to but I guess since I haven't had a period since etc. they prob want to work out. Luckily I chart so I know I ovulated on day 26 of my "cycle" so I think I can date the pregnancy fairly accurately. (Last pregnancy I ovulated day 24 so not much difference- they were putting me further ahead than I knew I was so was glad I knew!)

Can I join?
You can usually find me on the AC thread but I recently found out I'm pregnant (I think I'm 5+5).
I had a mmc following my 2nd IVF cycle in January - we had almost a month of is it or is it not viable (low hcg result, empty sac, possibly something in there etc...)
Anyway we're absolutely flabergasted that I've fallen naturally!
We were about to go to docs to see if DP was still fertile following chemo for testicular cancer last year - what a way to find out!!
I am so terrified we'll go for the scan (5th June) and it being just another empty sac

Sorry to hear you two have had similar experiences

Welcome Mowmi and brilliant news about your natural pregnancy hurrah- especially as it sounds like you guys have have been through so much.

How many weeks will you be when you have the scan?

One thing we all have to reassure ourselves of is that many pregnancies post MC are sucessful- our bodies have been already primed for pregnancy so hopefully our wombs get a handle on the whole malarky this time. (although obviously last bit is tongue in cheek as wombs/us are not accountable for MC and we can't blame ourselves/our wombs if that makes sense.)

Thanks for the welcome. I'll be 7 weeks. You're right must try to get a grip!! (even a bit of grip would be good!!)

Mummy - I've only got sore boobs - that's it!
I've got a really good book which says the strong symptom thing is a bit of a red herring - lots of women have nothing at all and there isn't a relationship between being full of them or not (I'm trying to believe anyway!)

Can I come an huddle for a while, even though I now 6weeks today. I go from feeling confident to terrified at the moment. I have had two early m/c's in the last few months, and am now worried and concerned as at my age m/c's are common. I have a scan booked for 6th July, I will be 11w5days then. I just hope that I can keep calm til then and stop fretting - is that possible?

Mowmi - congrats on finding out the best way about your dh fertility!

Hi to Thandeka and wasabipeanut.

Mummy - please try not to worry...I've done so much googling - there are so many women out there who had no symptoms whatsoever and had healthy babies at the end of it!
My boobs went veiny then sore - mine haven't grown... growing boobs are a sign!!

Me too, I'm 5 weeks and had a miscarriage in March at 8 weeks so I'm bricking it too. Also got food poisoning from a dodgy meal out last night and convinced that will cause another miscarriage. Paranoid.

Crossing fingers for everybody!

Hello mummytopebs and rainbowdays.

On the symtom thing its a funny one as some say the sicker you are the more likely its a keeper- I was nauseous but never sick last pregnancy- so here I am hoping to be sick as a dog last time! But then thats rubbish as I know loads of women who had nausea but no sickness and had sucessful pregnancies.

I think 5 weeks is still fairly early for symptoms and they really are a red herring anyway as I was still having symtoms when the emby had been dead for 4 weeks. This time the only unusual symptom is a scratching sensation in my womb but then am 4 weeks so dont expect anything else.

Nargh this isn't the reassuring post I meant it to be- crap please ignore my tired musings. What I mean is symptoms are very individual and have no indication on the sucess of the pregnancy or not- I guess the only way we will actually know is by getting to the birth and all being fine!

Anyhow I am going to knit us a bubble to live in so it will all be fine. Nothing can hurt us in a bubble. (BTW I took up knitting post MMC and found it has really helped- I plan on knitting a baby blanket as a project for any eventual baby- be it this one or another one- I WILL get there eventually.)

I have tried not to google. Just read through thread again and wanted to say congratulations mowmi especially going through all that. We must nearly have the same due date. My last mc was low hcg levels and an empty sack hope there is something there on monday.

Hello turniptoo too!

Food poisioning shouldn't cause MC I don't think- bacteria can't get into the womb via the bloodstream. Main thing is hydration I guess. You poor thing- is it clearing now? If not get thee to a doc!

Google is evil tool.

Really really good luck for scan on Monday- maybe some denial where you rearrange the appointment in your brain to be a scenario like this may help.

Mummytopebs is skipping along tra la la la la, she is offered a seat by a nice person who then gets a magic wand and sticks it up her fanjo and the magic wand takes a picture of a womderful perfect embryo and mummytopebs is very happy.

(erm okay my story makes the midwife in the scenario sound like a dirty perv - ooops!)

Thandeka - think you better get cracking with the bubble.

Hugs to all x

Not puked for a while but just feel generally shit still. Hopefuly better tomorrow!

With DS (2) I was really sick from 6 weeks but with last (unsuccesful) pregnancy I didn't feel sick at all so for me I really want to start feeling sick next week! Having said that I know tons of people who felt fine throught entire pregnancy and have healthy babies now so it just depends

This sounds like a good lounge, so I will take a seat....I have just got my BFP this morning [aaggghhhr emoticon] so I'm feeling very excited indeed!!! Exactly 16wks ago to the day, I had my second D&C for a MMC (first one was Autumn last year) so I know only too well what it's like to knicker-check on a regular basis. However, I am feeling very excited atm so I will just hold onto that for as long as possible .

Hope you're all well and looking forward to enjoying the twists and turns of this particular rollercoaster as the days, weeks and months pass by....

Am officially 4 whole weeks today. AF two days late but been testing very very faint blink and you would miss 'em positives since 6 days ago.
Gulp just need to take this week by week.

By the way how are people's DP's about the news? My DH is very quiet and non-commital and at the min is not even talking about it. Not that I am being all excited and thinking its going to work out this time but I would like him to even vaguely talk to me about it!

Hi all, can I join too?

Had mc in February at 7 weeks , very nervous, am 5+5 today - going to be a long 6 weeks, cant wait for a scan.

Wish I still had the innocence re pregnancy that I had with dd (now 4), that as soon as I seen the + that was it - I was having a baby - nothing would never happen to me! - even first scan was just to see the baby - never imagined anything wrong - now Im waiting in hope for scan to make sure baby is there!!

Am quite sick though - nauseous - not vomiting (sorry!), tired and (reeeaaally sorry) change in type and amount of discharge in nether regions. Hoping thats a good sign but dont know..

Thandeka - hmm... dont know like yours my DH isnt mentioning much but Im not sure if its because of previous mc and nerves or hes just that type iykwim, he didnt chat that much about pregnancy when I was pregnant with dd, plus I've heard that it doesnt completely sink in with men until they see a physical change - i.e. a bump - I suppose that would make sense - because its happening to our bodies, we expect them to be as aware as we are... that make any sense?

Report
Thandeka · 28/05/2009 09:38

Welcome Barbielovesken.

Yes that does make sense. He defo got more into the idea last time when I had a "bump" (what I didn't know at the time was my "bump" was just the egg sac still growing not the emby )

So will see what happens this time. My master plan to get through the next 8 weeks is to try to keep busy- not stressed busy but it may work out that way as am working notice on old job for next 7 weeks and have to pack all my office at work away, but am going to try not to lounge around thinking about it all too much as that gets me nowhere. Cept in this lounge as we are okay in here!

Have glastonbury in 4 weeks (if i go) so just want to get to then and then have scan when I get back from that. So my next milestone is Glasto.....
