Another thread for the lovely ladies who are pregnant after miscarriage :)

OP posts:
thesmallbear · 23/03/2015 12:02

Is anyone in charge of the stats now Silver has left the thread? I'm happy to post if that's ok with everyone? Is there anyone who'd like to be added or who needs EDD changing etc?

Phryn · 23/03/2015 12:32

thesmallbear if you could do stats that would be lovely - it's always nice to have them near the top of the thread for easy reference!

Yay new thread! I'm back in work after 2 weeks annual leave and finding it hard to get going today! Not helping that SPD has got me in its grip. Physio appt tomorrow am though - really hope they can suggest some helpful stuff!

29+2 today! How did that happen? Huge best wishes to happy I think it was who had a scan this am?

happygojo · 23/03/2015 12:41

HELLO! Ok I have an awkward child apparently! They couldn't measure the head properly so I have to go back next week. It definitely has a head though which is reassuring. Also wriggly but wriggly in an awkward way.

My cervix looks fine and closed and long considering past procedures so a very positive scan!

Couldn't find out the sex because they kept their legs closed, but the sonographer reckons girl. She said she would have another look next week.

Consultant was in no way concerned and told me to carry on as normal

Thanks for the new thread and positive vibes!

Treaclepie19 · 23/03/2015 12:43

Great news happy! :)
Bonus that you get to see baby again next week.

OP posts:
thesmallbear · 23/03/2015 12:48

Ok, I will update the stats. Shall I do it a bit later, so everyone has a chance to get home from work, read this and then let me know if they want to add/update anything. I'm off work today as I've had a long weekend in Scotland. I got home last night and am having a rest today.

happy - glad everything went well. I guess it's a bit of a pain that they couldn't do everything they needed to do, but at least you get to see your baby again next week Smile

50degreesintheshade · 23/03/2015 12:54

Hello! Sorry I have been absent for sooooo long but still in denial..... I'm now 17 weeks and I'm due on the 27th August ( even though I have told my oby/gyn that I refuse to give birth until september??) I have another scan tomorrow morning.I'm wondering how much longer I can get away with before people notice I am pregnant, I do look like I have been eating a lot of pies!
Congratulations to everyone who have had positive scans.

Excellent news Happy even if you have to back you know all is well.

I went to yoga which was lovely, really enjoyed however my private scan was cancelled as the sonographer was sick and now for some unknown reason I have went massively negative thinking something is wrong with the baby. Can't seem to shake it but I am finding it difficult to believe I am going to get good news when we rebook it...I think the lack of symptoms is not helping and I am now telling myself that my bump us just fat! Plus I seem to have a dull throbbing pain every so often -argh anyone got any ideas to stop me driving myself crazy??

CommanderShepard · 23/03/2015 14:45

Ooh, shiny new thread!

My 20 week scan has been booked for 2nd May. Which is a Saturday. And so I don't quite know what to do with DD. DH thinks it'll be fine to take her along but I don't want to be told off by the sonographer!

broodylicious · 23/03/2015 14:49

Thanks for the new thread treacle

Ace news small :)

happygojo · 23/03/2015 14:52

Hi commander My hospital specifies 1 adult and 'quiet' children under 16 are welcome in the room. How old is your DD, can she be bribed with promise of a treat if she behaves in the dark room?

You can check with your Antenatal clinic, you won't be the first! If not is there a friend who can have DD for an hour?

I just looked into NCT classes as now i have had my 20 week scan it seems that I am actually going to have to have this baby. It is happening and there is no denying it any longer.

My baby is a 3cm femur bone. Seeing that on my notes just made my heart melt! It is so big yet also so teeny teeny tiny if that makes sense.

Cava I feel fat not pregnant too, and I get these pains if I sneeze or move too quickly. It must be hard if you have psyched yourself up for a scan for it to then be cancelled! but people get sick and I bet you prefer it to be cancel then being sneezed on and getting sick yourself? Positive vibes your way. How many weeks are you now?

cavamonster · 23/03/2015 16:20

Yes happy definitely don't want to be around sick people and I wasn't bothered about them cancelling, it is just the panic has set in now. My DH has rebooked it for tomorrow night, as I was humming and hawing about whether to not bother now as I didn't want it to be over ( I'm crazy I tell you Grin) anyway he has said we are going and I know that's the best thing. I am 16 weeks now.

I keep looking at the people who have had babies on this thread with hope as they seem to have remained fairly sane so hopefully I'll be the same Grin

CommanderShepard · 23/03/2015 16:47

She'll be 3 that month and she's normally very well behaved (if she's unsure about something she just goes quiet). DH is all for bringing her along but I think I'm going to put my foot down and say she has a morning with MIL or her best friend's mum, who has very kindly offered to have her.

charlieis30 · 23/03/2015 17:05

Afternoon team, just wanted to drop in and say hi, as I've been awol from MN for a few months.
In case you don't know/remember me:
MC1 @ 7.5w Feb 2014
MC2 @ 10ish Aug 2014
Now 23 weeks (wheeeee!) on attempt #3 Grin
First 12w were tough, emotionally, as I was terrified something would go wrong. Then a very wobbly time as symptoms started to taper off but I still couldn't feel anything nor did I really look preg. But now I'm sporting a proper baby bump and can feel BabyCharlie moving several times every day. Doesn't stop me for being scared at least once a day! But 12w and 20w scans showed all going well, so now trying to stay posifrickintive.
Glad some others have had good scans, hope you're all getting through the fear!

broodylicious · 23/03/2015 17:07

Hi charlie! So good to have you back and really delighted things are progressing wellSmile xxx

happygojo · 23/03/2015 17:09

To be fair commander it might be a bit dull for her. It is easy for you and DH to coo at the blurry grey image but for a 3yo not so much I guess. Especially if you are going to be anxious (I was) I also started crying with relief as soon as I saw the baby move which might be hard for your DD to understand. A play date or a treat day with your MIL might be better if you have the option xxx

thesmallbear · 23/03/2015 17:24

Congratulations Charlie Grin Do you want adding to the stats? If so can I have your EDD please.

broodylicious · 23/03/2015 17:26

Yeah I'd leave dd with your MIL if you can, commander. She would probably find it boring and if there's a wait, or you are sent out for a walk to move baby for example, it might be tricky to keep her entertained. I also think of the time I was going to be scanned after I knew I had mc and there were kids in the waiting room and it was v difficult (even though we have a dd). I was very emotional and stressed at the 20 week scan - probably my negative mind set after mc and the fear of finding ds markers or worse - so for us, taking dd to such an appointment would've been the last resort.

Treaclepie19 · 23/03/2015 18:21

Hi Charlie :)

I agree commander, my hospital only let you in with one adult.

My 20 week scan isn't til the 11th May. Seems ages!!!

Is anyone drinking coke?
I've been really good avoiding caffeine drinks as I eat a lot of chocolate in one go when I fancy it.
I really fancy coke though so have bought two of those tiny little cans to drink. Now I'm scared to drink them :p

OP posts:
thesmallbear · 23/03/2015 18:23

Sorry Charlie, I can see you are already on the stats with an EDD of 26/07/15. Right I will update the stats now.

Littlelady33 · 23/03/2015 18:25

Thank you for the shiny new thread! And Charlie good to see you again. Those waiting for bumps I know exactly what you mean - suddenly at about 20wks I went from looking a bit day to definitely pregnant, it seems to almost happen overnight!

Should we put them in a spreadsheet at some point? Or is that unnecessary hassle? :p
