Clomid - hoping for bfp's

My stats-

Age 39
Ttc #3
Irregular cycles
Clomid 100mg & Metformin 1000mg
Been trying for 12 months (6 on clomid)
Cd10

Bad hot flashes in the night, headaches in the morning.. no twinges yet this cycle.

Hoping some of my friends will join from the other clomid thread...

Penguin do u think u ovulated?
I had a long cycle last cycle and didn't ovulate. Only way I can tell is my taking my bbt.

I had a D21 progesterone which was 25 so not likely which is disappointing. AF has just arrived
On to next cycle then. Will up my dose to 150mg and hope I won't get severe side effects!
My AMH is really low so I'm running out of time !

Going on 15-16m, had four rounds of Clomid so far

I'm currently CD29, but I'm fairly certain I only OV on the weekend so still a couple of weeks to wait. I'm so impatient!

Currently on round 2 of 100mg (day 18)
Not sure if I'm even ovulating (using clearblue monitor for first time and only had highs for 11 days straight.

I have been a lurker on your previous thread but thought I'd mark my place on this one.

My info:
32 years old
ttc#1
ttc since April 16 - DX with PCOS in Sept 16 as cycles got longer then stopped completely.
Been on Metformin since Nov 16 which has helped in that I have had 2 natural AFs and lost a stone in weight so BMI now 24.
Started clomid last week - 50mg 1st round.
Currently CD10 going for first follicle tracking scan tomorrow.

I am on a PCOS specific thread but now that I'm on clomid I've been reading this chat as it is clomid specific.

Really excited / nervous about tomorrow. For every story there is about someone getting their BFP soon after starting clomid there is another story of poor ladies who have been on it for ages.

Just got to wait and see - but thats easier said than done!!!

Summer how are u finding the metformin? I was so so ill at the start, getting better now. Can only handle 1000mg though. Started it last cycle but it didn't give me ovulation. So only this cycle is both together with clomid. Fingers crossed.

Penguin sounds like u did ovulate. I read some people had got their bfp with prog at 20, so don't worry.

The hot flashes are driving me insane! I'm so tired!! Wakes me up from 3am every night. Hoping they stop if I ovulate!! Temp is still low so not much happening.

Kp what dose of clomid u on? You ovulate late then. I just wish my cycles were regular and ovulation is easier to predict. Mine are all over the place!

Hi Footy. I have got the hang of it now but my god it was hell when I started! I'm on 1500mg per day, and I learned the hard way about taking it without food as that was the worst. Am fine on it now though, and as I say I have lost about a stone on it plus have had 2 natural AFs so all in all I would say it was worth the sickness.

I dont believe that I ovulated before those AFs although I did have EWCM for the first time in a while. No way to know really, I just hope that clomid gives me the extra burst I need to pop an egg!

Am a bit worried that I've not really had symptoms at all on clomid. Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing? I had one night of getting super hot and having to change my PJs but that was just one night. The mood swings are nothing to go on because I have them anyway!

I know I'll know more tomorrow, but I am so anxious for this to work I want to know now!!

I am on 100mg of clomid but didn't take it this cycle after my MC/bleed last month - I've run out anyway so need a new script.

Summer, welcome. I fell pregnant with my DS first cycle of Clomid back in 2013, so it can happen!

summer i didnt get any symptoms on 100mg of clomid but it didnt work so not sure if its a direct correlation.

CD2 so taking 150mg clomid tonight. Go big or go home! Fx it works and I don't get side effects!

My very first round was only 25mg and it worked... no symptoms that I remember.

Day 20 for me and still no peak. Really can't do another 60+ cycle with no ovulation again.

KT have u no AF pills to take if you get into another long cycle?
I take norethisterone if this happens.

Summer so many things I can't eat on it.. pizza, fried food or any sugar as it makes me soooo queasy. I'm hoping it will work this cycle.
50mg might not give u any side effects, as when I started 100mg the first cycle I didn't have many side effect, until the second cycle on it. It's very temperamental for me.

Kp - have u ovulated or are u still waiting?

Footy, I had two strong positive OV tests over the weekend (I think?? All my days merge into one at the moment) so I'm assuming I have ovulated. I felt like my uterus was about to fall out of my vagina for a few days and had a slight low-grade ache in my right ovary region. This is very unusual for me!

DTD twice, and now we wait.

My doc wouldn't give me pills to start AF, she just advised to start next round of Clomid if negative on day 49.

I temp everyday. Currently above my cover line so my app has said I've already ovulated.

footy didn't get any hot flushes or any symptoms really. Took my first dose of 150ng last night. No problems so far.

Does everyone get follicle tracking with clomid? I understand it depends a bit on where you live. I really had to push hard and feel very lucky to have a day 9 scan next week. Last cycle the scan showed a nice big follicle 18mm on day 10 but sadly didn't ovulate.

I've never been scanned. First time around I had 21 day bloods but never got the results as it was unnecessary once I got those double lines!

GP has said she'd organise a referral for an U/S post last month but I don't know how long that will take. Hopefully it will prove unneeded.

Morning all.

Back from my scan. No amazing news to report sadly. No dominant follicles - just one at 6mm and one at 8mm. The nurse said that she wants to see me again next Tuesday to see if either of those are just late developers, and if not then she said we may as well just go straight to 100mg next cycle (either natural or provera induced). The lining looked pretty good though for the stage that I was at which I was happy about as my periods are very short so I worried it was too thin.

I am disappointed, but also know that I need to be thankful for being monitored and going back again next week, plus having the next phase of the plan already waiting in the wings is a bit of a comfort I guess.

I didnt quite know what to think of the jump straight to 100mg though?? On the one hand its good as that may work better, but I thought maybe she had a feeling even now that 50mg just isnt going to do anything? Not sure. People seem to give 50mg a few goes before moving to 100mg I thought?

Hi summer sorry to hear about your scan results. Hopefully they are late developers. Do you have regular cycles? It might be that it's a bit early so there's still hope. As you said it's good to know there's a plan in place and it's great that you can have another scan next week. I started on 100mg immediately which didn't work but I'm only on cycle 2 of clomid so no idea if you should continue on same dose for a bit then increase. hope you had a nice cup of and good luck for next Tuesday.

Thanks penguin. I was expecting it to probably take a couple of rounds to get my body to respond but there was always hope of a first time miracle! Not holding out hope for the next scan - in fact I was a bit surprised they even booked one! They are indeed a postcode lottery - as is so much about this whole ttc game :( . Its a long drive (1hr 25mins) each time there and back, but when we are there we are so well looked after I really cannot complain.

I had a handful of regular cycles after stopping the pill then they disappearred. I had a provera induced bleed and started metformin back in Nov which has since given me 2 natural AFs and a cycle of 36 days but now that I'm straight onto clomid I dont really know what my cycles are doing on their own. I think clomid further regulates your cycles doesnt it? So hopefully I'll get a natural AF in 2-3 weeks to then start 100mg, or they said they are happy to get cracking with provera and then 100mg.

I didn't even realise they did scans until I read about it on here. Sounds like it takes a lot of uncertainty out of it all. I was just prescribed 3 rounds at 50mg and told to come back in 4 months. The appointment after 4 months started with 'still not pregnant then?' and then an increase to 100mg and advice that I'll be referred for IVF if no progress in 4 months. Whole appointment was less than 5 minutes.

I was very hopeful for a first time miracle. Sadly it didn't work and as time is literally running out (I have low ovarian reserve), I've decided to increase the dose for the 2nd cycle. Fx it works!

Hot flashes keeping me awake. Can't stand them!!!
No scans or aftercare for me! Just prescription. I'm 39 with 2 dc's so nothing on offer for me after clomid.

I'm sure my ovarian reserve is low, haven't had it checked before but can imagine it is.
My cervix is tilted, so I'm wondering if that hinders things. Are u ladies varying the positions? Just wondering, as when I googled cervix positions it has said depending on where your cervix is only certain positions will be successful. Food for thought..!
