There hasn't really been any new news today. Have you caught up on thread 3?

GoldieMumbles · 18/03/2014 18:41

Yeah. Had a sneaky look earlier.

There seem to be a lot of conspiracies being mooted but nowt solid.

There were some qs earlier today, not many but a few. Will see if I can hunt them down again!

Great to see you here Goldie and now you have started the thread all your posts will be highlighted for me . Double good.

I saw on the previous thread there have been sightings but nothing is reported on the news Confused. Is it because the sightings have been proved to be not the missing plane?

The Maldives thing doesn't make a lot of sense to me. After all, if you'd gone to all that trouble to hide yourself, why would you fly it so every bugger on the island could not only see you but identify you.

Like everything it's not impossible but I can't see why you would.

What's the likelihood of the facts about what happened never being known? Either because no one knows or because it is in someone/some governments interests that it not be made public.

NCiSAddict:

A) quite possible
B) very unlikely. There are 27 counterspies involved to a greater o lesser extent. They might be able to keep a certain amount of sensitive information sharing under wraps, but no way to do a total cover up with so many participants.

Uncorroborated Maldives sightings

It doesn't tally with Inmarsat, but Inmarsat have only released their last data point not all the intervening.

virtual I actually find what's happened in the Ukraine really frightening. I had to stop following it because I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

I am totally not one for conspiracy theories but DH made me sit down and watch one on 9/11 which was a government coverup for something. I didn't agree with all of it but some of the stuff was spooky.

I still think George Bush 2 started the Iraq war to distract from problems at home and that the whole defence industry and the rich men behind companies like Bain Capital and Carlyle thrive on making sure discontent and misery remains a top priority round the world.

There's so much that goes on behind the scenes that we don't know about and the media is so controlled these days. Fox News and the DM in particular make me want to hurl and the BBC is not what it once was imo.

What does this ramble have to do with the 777 Blush in a way I hope it is something as straightforward as some sort of failure by the plane or human error/suicide. I don't mean that to sound awful because it is horrendous no matter what. But anything more then that is too scary to think about.

Speculation - the longer it goes on, the higher the cance, I suspect.

'counterspies' was meant to be 'countries' (no idea how that DYAC came about!)

Not sure if it's your area Goldie (welcome back btw!) but what do you think about the deep ocean surveillance being talked about?
Maybe they will find it after all - hopeful.

I'm glad you are back Goldie, it was starting to go a bit weird on the last thread. I'm open minded but I will not accept that the U.S have masterminded this. Hmm

There's a theory gaining followers that there could have been a catastrophic electrical fire, diverted and prepared to land at Langkawi, aborted, then the plane has carried on into the southern Indian Ocean, probably with no pilot.

I wonder, though, if one country withholds a vital bit of information for their own reasons whether that could lead to the truth never being known? I guess that would be very risky for them and would be likely to be found out at some future date.

Not really one for conspiracy theories and would rather there be some scientific/rational explanation but could that happen?

I do think the longer it is missing for the longer it will stay missing which is awful for the relatives.

So pleased you are back Goldie. If the plane was under control of cyber hijackers, could the pilot override this manually? Don't worry if you can't answer this...do understand that you need to be careful about what you say on open forums.

There's a theory gaining followers that there could have been a catastrophic electrical fire, diverted and prepared to land at Langkawi, aborted, then the plane has carried on into the southern Indian Ocean, probably with no pilot

But after having been following this story today it's been said that:

The plane turned towards Langkawi and then later diverted course again

The plane carried on flying longer than would be expected following a catastrophic fire - 6/7 hours as opposed to the 20 minutes max an aircraft on fire would be expected to able to carry on flying for
