I have a doctors appointment at 4.40.
I've had three previous lumps removed, last one was six years ago. They were all fibroid adenomas.
I'm already very ill and waiting for an op to remove a kidney stone.
Please cross fingers fanjos and norks that this will be ok.

Oh OJ, hope everything is OK ('tis Norma Stanley Fletcher here).

Sorry to hear about your other health issues Flowers

Thanks for you kind wishes.
GP also thinks it's a fibroid I will need it removing once my kidney stone and nephrostomy have both been removed, which could be months, it would save time and money to do the ops together.

How are you coping with it all? Do you have some rl support?

And how are your gorgeous kids?

Thanks for you kind wishes.
Teenagers are all fine and lovely, they were understandably worried when I was in a coma in ICU.
Dr wants me to have checks for my liver, one day I shall be well!

You were in a coma?! Shock

Oh my.

I really hope you do get well.

I've not seen you around on here for ages. Have often wondered how you are doing.

OJ, how are you doing today? So sorry to read that you were in a coma (but at the same time, vastly relieved you have recovered from it). Everything crossed that the operations and investigations get you well again.

I spent much of last night being sick so not much in the way of sleep.
Went to doctors with what I thought was a kidney stone, I made quit ran impression as I was sick a few times whilst in the waiting room.
GP phoned an ambulance and I got a very quick trip to the hospital.
That was on the 23rd, they shouldn't get me stabilized so transferred me to specialist hospital on the 25th (Steve's birthday!) I was transferred with an ICU doctor and a nurse

I've been struggling with this since January when I spent two weeks in intensive care after the first attempt to remove it went so horribly wrong.
Which led to lots of panic, sepsis, multiple organ failure, level 2 respiratory failure, pneumonia a trachiostomy and a nephrostomy bag. By all accounts it's amazing that I lived. There are very few people who went through this and are alive to offer their experience.
This is my third stone, I've had them at ten year intervals. I agree they are the most severe pain ever.
I'm waiting for another operation which I'm extremely anxious about.
I currently have a kidney drain which is attached to a bag on my side which drains the kidney.
the bag often springs a leak which leaves me in a puddle of my own wee..
I'm waiting for the nurse to come and change my bag and take yet more blood for tests, they are keeping a very close eye on things.
I mostly read on here these day, things are going ok here, apart from my health, MIL still giving us grief, it's almost six years since Steve died, you'd think she would have given up by now.

Hand hold for the upcoming operation. Is there a counsellor who you can meet with to talk about your (understandable) anxiety about it? It must have been a shock that things went so badly, and although physically you have come through it it sounds as though you need some more support to face this next operation. Just want the very best for you. Flowers

Oh God - I had forgotten about your MIL.

I mostly read too. When I changed to this name I thought I might jump in a bit more, but I end up reading and not getting to catch up with long threads soon enough to comment. Stuff moves so fast on here sometimes.

Oh Good grief, OJ. (I was DifferentID back in the day)

I am so sorry to hear you've been so unwell. Your MIL never knew how to let go even back then, did she?

I do hope that you have some decent RL support from health services?

I'm only the waiting list, they're never very quick.
My health isn't good, I'm hoping for improvement and that I can avoid dialysis or transplant, I will know more once I've had the op, it mostly depends on the amount of damage to the kidney, which is one of the organs that shut down, a 4 inch stone may well have caused non repairable problems, will cross my fingers and wait and see.
Lovely to see some familiar names on here, even those in disguise!

A four inch stone? You are amazing. Just wondering if they should have spotted that on a scan before they operated.

I'll not be a familiar poster to you (though I do recognise your sn).

How are you managing OJ with looking after your children, have you help ? Can't believe your ex in law still around causing you hassle. Didnt Steve have a brother too ?
I hope your apt will come through soon so you can get op over and done with. As if you haven't been through enough.
Waves to yoniand SNF this is a bit like old times !

Not sure if you'll remember me, but I remember you.

Can't believe your MIL is still giving you a hard time though, what a PITA she is!

FX for the breast lump removal as well. Crikey, you really don't do things by halves, do you! xx

yes they did spot the stone on the scan, just the infection behind the stone they didn't know about.
I've got an appointment with the ICU in two weeks to go through what happened to me, my partner is going to come with me I think it will be useful to him, he's a nurse and was terrified by what happened.
Thanks for all your lovely posts it's great to see so many familiar names on here, and of course I remember you all.
MIL even after six years is still giving us grief, on Monday I got a lovely booklet and information pack on funeral plans, it said I had requested it and has my DOB and everything on it, Im sure MIL is behind this, as we didn't respond to DS birthday card and letter.
I'm resisting the urge to post it to her.
