smee · 31/01/2012 17:07

Snazzy is so us. Excellent, thanks MAS. Smile

NedSchneebly · 31/01/2012 17:08

What's on the trolley today, kurri ? Happy to contribute Jaffa cakes, and chocolate cake one of my lovely colleagues baked Smile

Boob bit less sore this afternoon - decided I was very cold and miserable this afternoon, but felt much better when I had lit the log burner and turned the thermostat up. . .

Waves, hugs and fbs to all who need them this afternoon x x x x

BackforGood · 31/01/2012 17:14

ds is making a (very rich, from the ingreds list) cheesecake in afterschool cookery this afternoon, so I might be able to put a couple of slices on the FBS trolley if you like ?
drift - shame you haven't been able to collect air-miles with all that travel Grin. Hurray for it all finishing - don't try to overdo it now, it was after mine finished that I got the most tired.
Topsy that sounds fab - not heard of it hear though (although I've obv. used tons more heating this winter through being at home lazing around recuperating so it would be nice Envy
My neighbour claims there were a few flakes of snow here earlier today. Didn;t see them myself but it is FREEZING so I wouldn't be surprised.
Hope everyone's feeling warm eough where they are.

BackforGood · 31/01/2012 17:15

hear here Blush

KurriKurri · 31/01/2012 17:30

jaffa cakes, choc cake, cheesecake - trolley looking good already. I have cinnamon bagels, but will be making cheese scones this evening, if anyone wants something savoury.

We had a few snowflakes yesterday - it is very cold again today so maybe more coming.

Good you are less sore now Ned. - could be that you slept awkwardly and things got a bit squooshed up (medical terminology there)

smee · 31/01/2012 17:56

Mmm, cheese scones sound good. Smile

Drift, I was wiped after Rads too, so take care and don't be surprised if you're flattened for a while.

DS says they had some snowflakes at playtime today, so he's got the third thing on his list, though he reckons it doesn't count as there wasn't enough to hurl snowballs. Grin

OneInEight · 31/01/2012 18:19

Cheese scones -very tempting.

Chemo went as planned and Monday and new anti-nausea drugs worked better so that is good too. What is not quite so good is bald patch - perhaps spoke to soon about retaining hair. Hopefully a bit will remain. Got a wig that doesn't look too dreadful just in case.

Drift - great news you have finished yours rads and hope skin is not too sore.

Has anyone got appointments this week - I have lost track again. Hugs and good luck to everyone in need.

smee · 31/01/2012 18:31

Eight, good you had chemo and that the drugs are working a bit better. Are they new ones this time? Sod about the bald patch though. Exactly the same thing happened to me. I did keep fringe and hair at back, enough to wear bands/ tie scarves across. Can't remember what the band ones I wore were called, but will post later when my brain's working.

Anyone out there any good on muscular pain? For once am not paranoid about this, as I foolishly agreed to a challenge from DS to a wild swinging of arms fast, like a windmill contest (catchy title!). Got an ache in-between my shoulder blades today. Will swimming help or hinder recovery?

holstenlips · 31/01/2012 18:48

Hello all, I like the new home.
After my crappy start, I slept most of afternoon aided by diazepam. Not sure its a good thing to take them but its chilled me out. Dd came home and said she told her teacher I am beautiful (not my mummys cross!) So that made me cry (with happiness) we have had a good evening.
My son came home early to check I was ok too. My goodness I'm proud of them both.

Macmillan didn't call me back but I will try once more then call gp see if a district nurse can come perhaps (if they still exist)
I'm on my phone so not easy to read back, somebody said a friend was having a reconstruction after something like my op, that sounds promising. I haven't looked at my bits yet!!
Hope all are warm and cosy xx

topsyturner · 31/01/2012 19:21

That was me Holsten . I can ask my friend about the recon if you are interested ?

What's on tv tonight ? I iplayered that social worker thing that was on last night as I missed it . Was very good .

BackforGood · 31/01/2012 19:33

mmmmmmmmmmmmm not just cheese scones, but warm homemade cheese scones, fresh from the oven. Yes PLEASE.

MaryAnnSingleton · 31/01/2012 19:41

oneineight well done for chemo on MondaySmile but grrr about the bald patch.
poor smee's muscles - a Radox bath or some such might ease it.
Cheese scones are my absolute favourites
How lovely your dcs are holsten
I recommend Junior Doctors tonight at 9pm - fascinating

SparkleRainbow · 31/01/2012 19:51

Nothing on tv tonight Topsy, like most nights....am thinking of getting on with my book, am reading the Harry Potter series, trying to keep ahead of ds, so I can make sure he is not reading anything he shouldn't. Have to return to Lord of the Rings after this series is finished, as he says he is finishing that next. Ah was so much easier when he was just reading enid blyton, could let him just get on with that!

Holsten - glad your dd reaffirmed what a lovely mummy you are. Grin

Smee - I would lay off the swimming and concentrate on a nice warm relaxing bath if I were you.

smee · 31/01/2012 20:19

Ooh MAS top tip. Junior Doctors is great. Thanks for reminding me. Smile

Haven't got any Radox, but will ferret round the cupboard and see what I've hidden. We have a regular guest who uses half a bottle anytime he has a bath, so I've taken to hiding my more luxurious bath stuff. Thing is, I'm not sure where I put it.

jchocchip · 31/01/2012 20:28

Found you! :) Oooo very snazzy. I can profer a loaf of homemade bread, I've eaten too much bread again today, oops. And there is another marathon and some cashews ... I love radox baths. We used to have the salts but it comes in liquid now. Can you still get the old fashioned sort?
Cat is stretched out on the sofa with a duvet. I wonder if I can get the duvet without disturbing him?

topsyturner · 31/01/2012 21:23

Oh yes , I love Junior Doctors . Thanks MAS .
Also got last nights Coppers to watch .
And ......... I recorded the new Pirates of the Carribean off sky the other day . But I normally save Johnny Depp for times when I have the house to myself Grin

Oh and Blush . I think I may have discovered the reason for my dizzy spells . Have just realised I have forgotten to take my anti ds for the past 5 days ! Within a few hours of taking one yesterday , dizzy spells gone .
I am a muppet !

Have a nice bag of orange Aero bubbles if anyone fancies a sniff one ?

smee · 31/01/2012 22:39

Topsy, what are you like?? Grin

Night all zzz
