Logging my daily JM fix and getting advice and motivation has been great over the past two months so here is a thread for all those of you who want to do the same again or for the first time. Come on, summer's nearly here and your butt's got Jillian's name on it Smile

I have just done day three. I used to be very fit before I had DS ten months ago.... Now I can barely walk downstairs!! But I am enjoying it and I feel it will give me results so persevere!

AmeliaToppingLovesShopping · 30/04/2014 21:18

Can I join please :)

I did the shred 2 years ago and lost weight but put it all, and more, back on again!

I did my day 7 this morning, 4 days last week and 3rd day this week.

leesmum · 30/04/2014 21:23

I am also on day 3 and enjoying it but the very last bit of level 1 is a killer...(the cycle sit up thing...sorry cant remember the proper name!)

Those of you that have done 30DS before did you really see good results?

HumphreyCobbler · 30/04/2014 21:27

Ooh, wherethewildthingis, I just did day three too after doing no exercise while pg and my baby is seven months.

It was a shock to the system.

I did it after both my other babies and it did work miracles leesmum.

wherethewildthingis · 30/04/2014 21:32

Ah my DS is nine months so we are at the same stage! Ihad a c section so I have used that as an excuse to have no abs at all. I find that last one with the legs pretty much impossible!

HumphreyCobbler · 30/04/2014 21:34

me too. We have so much in common! I often do a different exercise on the last bit, it is harder than anything on Level 2

BrianButterfield · 30/04/2014 21:37

I've just done day 3 too! My baby is four months though...have been spurred on by digging out summer clothes and finding I've a whole wardrobe I can't wear! Not finding it too bad - I hate the side lunges though. Yuck. I'm not going to do it every day - me and DH do it together so we've decided to have Friday as a rest/treat days and we both like to run so will be running some days instead.

kalidasa · 30/04/2014 21:57

I'd never tried JM before but I have just done day 4. DH is away at the moment so I can't really get out to exericse and I really wanted something I could do quickly at home after putting DS to bed while waiting for my supper to be ready. I've never been into exercise videos before - more of a running/swimming person - but I'm enjoying it and keen to keep going. We have just started ttc no. 2 - or rather we will when DH gets back! - and I have to be prepared for a second v. difficult pregnancy so I'm keen to get as fit as possible first.

Ooh fingers crossed we will all get good results. I want to be able to do proper press ups by the end of the thirty days.

StuntNun · 30/04/2014 22:52

I want to do proper press ups too stamps foot petulantly.

AmeliaToppingLovesShopping · 30/04/2014 23:10

I can do slightly more press ups than day 1 but they are still the easy option.

I find the first circuit the most difficult. Trying to do star jumps after push ups!

When I did it last time the end abs section was impossible but they do get easier quite quickly

wherethewildthingis · 01/05/2014 09:02

I feel slightly less stiff today than yesterday, stairs are definitely easier! Hopefully that means it is working!

kalidasa · 01/05/2014 09:02

Yes I got all the way through that final abs exercise yesterday for the first time. It's a nasty one though!

GandTnow · 01/05/2014 09:04

I'm in please. Started the Shred in March and (after initial painful four days) loved it. I'm now doing Ripped in 30 and more than half way through.

yadahyadah · 01/05/2014 10:02

Rin30 L1D9 done. One more day and then L2 here I stumble. Welcome aboard everyone. StuntNun have you tried doing box pressups to ease you into the buggers? You basically go on all fours like you are pretending to be a dog and then do it from there. Your knees are closer to your upper body so you get a bit more support but you still get to use arms and core and build up strength...just a thought.

Started level 1 this morning no one warned be I would leak during star jumps , mega blush

leesmum · 01/05/2014 11:40

Glad its not just me then Panadbois Blush

tabulahrasa · 01/05/2014 11:53

30DSL1D10...that means level 2 tomorrow Sad

AmeliaToppingLovesShopping · 01/05/2014 12:42

I do a little as well Panadbois, I put it down to the 3 DC Blush

Day 8 done today.

Do you do 10 days on each level before going up to the next? Also do you have any gaps in between or do you shred every day?

I have never done level 2 or 3 before.

tabulahrasa · 01/05/2014 12:48

Yep it's 10 days per level...though I know people do more if they're not ready to move up which seems pretty sensible.

I do two rest days a week - I looked up stuff and I can't tell whether you're supposed to or not, but most exercise programmes include rest days to let muscles heal and what have you, so I do...I try to space them out, but sometimes I just don't manage to fit it in, so intake it as a rest day, so sometimes it us two days in a row.

I've done level 2 before - that's why I'm Sad I know I found it harder, lol

AmeliaToppingLovesShopping · 01/05/2014 12:53

I am hoping to do 6 days a week, with Sunday as my rest day.

I might do 2 weeks for a level so 12 days instead of 10.

Do you then repeat from level 1 after the 30 days are up?

Sorry for all the questions :)

yadahyadah · 01/05/2014 12:55

Ameliatopping and Tabulahrasa - I have started doing it 5 days on and 2 off, so that's 2 weeks per level. I had done Shred 30 days non stop as I forgot to read the instructions Blush and although I did it and felt it got me in the right mindset, I don't think it was the cleverest way to have approached it.

OP posts:
tabulahrasa · 01/05/2014 12:57

I have no idea what happens when/if I actually manage to finish it, lol, I'm repeating because I took a week off over Easter and couldn't bear the thought of moving on to level 3 after a week off instead of straight from level 2, so I just started again.

I'm thinking I'll move onto ripped in 30 as that seems a bit harder.

yadahyadah · 01/05/2014 12:59

AmeliaT you can do that or you can go to another JM program that suits you. I did Shred, now am on Rin30 and plan to do BFBM next gawd 'elp me. Some aficionados mix it up over the course of a week depending on their time and energy on the day. I think for me the key has been committing to daily exercise.
