I don't want another attack on me I already feel battered and bruised from people on here -I was watching Muse 'Uprising'' at Glastonbury, they were bloody fantastic and the lyrics jumped out at me (maybe I am going mad I don't know) but they summed up what I feel about the EU and why I voted how I did. Worth a listen if anyones has a spare five minutes.

I voted Remain but wouldn't dream of attacking you for voting Leave. The last I heard we live in a parliamentary democracy, and dissent is allowed. And yes, some Muse songs are fucking awesome.

That Muse song is fantastic. No one should be attacking you for exercising your democratic right. Well done for voting Leave. You were part of the majority.

Muse's Bellamy used to be a bit of a conspiracy theorist and was interviewed by Alex Jones years ago and wore a tee-shirt with the name of one of Alex's films, but later on I think he changed some of his former beliefs.

Jones still plays Uprising sometimes on his show. Great stuff.

The people's revolution continues.

The British people stunned the world and rocked the elites worldwide. Play Muse loud.

Oh wow Doctortwo and claig - I cannot tell you how happy your comments have made me, I feel like I have been put through the ringer and have had to justify myself every time I have even dared to venture to post on here over the last couple of days. I am shocked at how people can turn on each other with such venom Sad

Stunned and rocked are not the words I would use claig but I know how you love your rhetoric.

Flowers

It ain't over yet, they are now busy trying to divide us - old against young, educated against uneducated. They are calling us "thick", they are calling us "old", they are calling us "uneducated" because the elites are scared. We have them on the run and now it will spread to other EU countries. It is going to collapse like a house of cards. Cameron gambled and lost, we the people won.

"They will not control us
We will be victorious."

'they are falling for it hook, line and sinker.'

Absolutely because of the power of the fat cats and the Establishment. They control the media, the BBC, the narrative, so many people are fooled by their Project Fear andProject Smear. But that is why, against all the odds, we the British people stunned the entire world by defying them.

Never has a people risen as we have just done. It is a revolution, all the newspapers say it, historians admit it. The world has never seen the like and no one has seen Osborne.

As Bellamy wrote

"Greenbelts wrapped around our minds and endless red tape to keep the truth confined"

but we broke the chains that bind us and united - working class and Middle England together - to end their game.

its starting to look to me as if the govt has deliberately driven the UK bus over a cliff because we didnt vote for the route they wanted to take

There has been some nasty stuff flying around social media. Really sad to see it wrecking generations of my family. I'm caught in the middle, I didn't vote because I was happy to accept whatever outcome. And I accept the result, but if we do get this referendum again I'm voting leave. I just don't want to be associated with agist rhetoric. Some of its been vile. And part of me thinks If the prospect of revolution in the UK mattered so much to you, you should have got off Facebook and mumsnet posting 'witty' one-liners mocking Farage et al, and gone out knocking on doors etc. But no, like most things in life, they just expected to get their own way because they always have had it so damn easy! They've just learned a lesson in life.

agree stay in the US of europe or we'll hold your feet to the fire until you're all scared of becoming a failed state and you agree to do as you're told :(

'I wonder if the elites will have the last laugh'

They are very powerful, but the whole world just watched in amazement at what the British people did. They can't defy democracy because then the whole world will see through their spin. They are in a corner, we snookered them.

Blair was on TV, he said he couldn't see a way for a second referendum, but reading between the lines, they want us to see the error of our ways by delaying Article 50 and hyping up their usual Project Fear stuff.

'its starting to look to me as if the govt has deliberately driven the UK bus over a cliff because we didnt vote for the route they wanted to take'

They haven't got the nerve for that because it will affect business and the City and the lobbyists have power over them. So they lost fair and square, although they will bide their time.

No abuse from me time!

I voted to leave and I'm proud & happy.
This is the beginning of a better, joined up Britain - a Britain that welcomes everyone.
The far right movement will be nipped in the bud soon because they've had they're oxygen cut off by us leaving the EU - they've nothing else left to whip up the bad feeling.

MN has been horrendous, and I've been in full on battle mode most of the day - if it makes you feel better, there are loads of perfectly lovely remain voters on the threads, they're just being drowned out by the vocal minority as is always the way.
They too will run out of oxygen soon when the sky continues to not fall down.

Also, it may cheer you to know that pretty much all I've seen on FB is people saying "the vote is in, now us the time to pull together and work as a team for the best outcome".
Again, the often silent majority.

It will be fine, this is the beginning - it may be shitty for a while but huge change is happening in our politics, positive change for the future.

I would have more sympathy if those who are upset about being associated with racists and xenophobes would speak out openly against the xenophobia that has been amplified and used by the Leave campaign. If the only reason you distance yourselves is because you don't want to be called names, you're not distancing yourself very much after all

they may not have the nerve for it Claig but I'm not sure if the British people have the nerve to be defiant in the face of project fear part 2

obviously mumsnet isnt an accurate reflection of the average mood of the people, but in general people on here seem to have lost their nerve some way back
