Exactly 2 weeks late now, haven't done a test for a few days as don't see much point really, but being 2 weeks late bit weird isn't it?

Saying that though dh & i have had a couple of nights of romantic behaviour since lol .

you had a positve test almost 3 weeks ago!

several if i remember correctly.

a faint positive is still a positive woman.... why are you in such denial?

No not been to the docs, i did speak to him on the phone and he just said wait till this week, and then i would know either way.

I did get faint pos but then got 2 negs on sainsburys own last week, so i figure if i was pg i would have a strong pos by now, so i don't think i am, god knows where my period is though.

agree with justjules, go to a gp and get an answer one way or another. if you are you'll be 6 weeks, not to early to get booked in anyway if you are.

my hormone level with dd were extremely low, 18 at 9w4d, she was a perfectly healthy baby. hormone levals vary greatly and cheap tests don't pick up low levals

My GP is a bit of a wan*"r, so i doubt he will do anything anyway tbh, i am all mixed up now, but my last period was 25th March.

Thats odd PT ( i was on your antenatal thread ), what about with your ds? did the same thing happen again? or did you get a BFP early on?

Any chance you could see a different GP?

You are usually very regular with your cycles aren't you so two weeks late is weird IMO.

Thinking you've decided a BFP wouldn't be such a bad thing afterall now then?

sureitsno3 · 05/05/2008 22:49

He is the only GP, no others.

Tbh BBM...i don't care now either way as long as i know pretty soon, fed up.

I bet you are fed up. You're going to have to go back and demand a blood test I guess - after all, he said you'd know either way by now didn't he?

What about speaking to someone in a family planning clinic or midwife? When I found out I was pg with No3 I just popped my head round the door of the MW's office and said 'I need you again!' Do you still feel able to chat to the MWs who helped you with your two DCs? Just thinking they may be able to let you know of other people who have had the same thing as pinktulips - I think it isn't as uncommon as you might imagine (even if you haven't had the problem previously)

go to your gp tomorrow. you need to get this sorted out!

have being following your thread, just wanted to add, after having very regular periods all my life this Jan i just missed one next one came as normal very strange.

I did so many tests both the cheap ones and expensive ones and never got even a glimmer of a positive, so I think the fact you have had faint positives looks like you are.

Must be so frustrating, surly the gp should do a blood test now your 2 weeks late?

Hi all

Well i spoke to the doc again, and he said to drop a urine sample off in the morning, not really sure what that is going to achieve tbh, he said they would send it off to the lab, but surely their tests will not be as sensitive as 25 miu ones.

I was just wondering how you are. Hope you get some answers soon.

BigBadMouse · 06/05/2008 20:10

Argghhhh...why can't he just offer you a blood test. I'm no expert at these thigs but I thought that was what they did in this sort of circumstance .

Surely the docs surgery has some sort of hcg urine test on site without having to send a sample to the lab .

Sorry, not helping much am I? Just wanted to share your angst. Is there a local family planning clinic you could go to for some (hopefully) better advice?

OracleInaCoracle · 06/05/2008 20:12

the lab urine tests are very sensitive indeed, but they wont measure levels, agree a blood test would be more sensible.

Report
PinkTulips · 06/05/2008 20:38

agree, the lab urines came back after my ultrasound and they are very sensitive, they picked up hormone levals that the very sensitive test strips the gp used couldn't. and they definitely did a quantitive urine test in the hospital right before my ultrasound so they can measure levals

sureitsno3, am very curious who you are now

i didn't realise aknowledge i was preg with ds til about 10 weeks (if you were on antenatal thread very early on you might remeber me having to wait til '20' week scan to find out how far along i was, if i was even on the right thread. i did a first response at about 9/10 weeks and it came up very faintly pos, so better hormones than with dd, still low for that stage of preg.

have you had any bleeding of any sort? if you had a positive test, and now negs, you would expect bleeding, definitely get checked out

Report
sureitsno3 · 07/05/2008 20:09

No, no bleeding at all. Nada.

that makes me think something needs checking out

you get a BFP if an egg is fertilised and produces HcG.

if the egg does not i mplant or the pregnancy does not contineu for whatever reason, you would expect bleeding

i would go to the docs again.

Ohhh i got many negative results with my last pregnancy!...but no period arrived..about 3 weeks later i got a very faint positive. I had coceived on day 25 of my cycle (i only took one chance)..so that is why the positive result took a whole to arrive. It was twins too!

perhaps you have conceived later in cycle than you think.

fingers crossed!

The thing is now is dh & i have since done the deed a couple of times mainly becuase i thought i was already pg, so i think i have now really screwed my whole cycle thing up.

So i think the only thing to do now is just keep testing every few days .

OP posts:

Idobelieveinfairies · 07/05/2008 21:07

, thats what i did too, and that is how 'twin' happened on the dating scan, twin 2 was 2-3 weeks behind twin 1 in growth, so they were concieved at different times.

the waiting game is still going to be on for a while yet for you me thinks!

Report
sureitsno3 · 07/05/2008 21:12

Idobelieveinfaries...How cool and odd is that? i didn't realise that could actually happen .

So you concieved and then concieved again 2 weeks later?
