Atticus.
I really wanted an atticus but we've just had our 3rd girl and won't be trying for an Atticus. Probably a good thing as we couldn't afford boarding school so he'd have been bullied with that name.

Not particularly bad to have to warrant being brave about them but I am a Scot living in England.

Campbell for a boy (my fear would be Camp bell)

Ailsa for a girl (Ailsa Craig)

We were brave enough to give DD the name we wanted. Tis an old lady name. Second name is a pets name (apparently).

It's not even THAT unusual, but is in the area we live IYKWIM. We've had more than a few faces but I don't care

hiya, i have friends who between them have a kitty, a tallulah (which i think is FAB and MAD) and an olivia! and they all really suit their names.

i had a penchant for the name malachi (say mal-a-ki not shy) but our surname is long and we decided it would be too much. I may save it as a middle name if we ever have another ds!

I do sometimes wonder if we should have gone with dh's suggestion of Edith. shortened to Edie. If we had had a boy we would have had Alistair. not exactly controversial.

Yevgeny or Ilya had DD been a boy. I adore Russian names for boys. My cat also has a Russian name which I really love and would have loved to recycle.

DD was originally going to be a Ruby, but doesn't translate well in the local language. Otherwise I loved Téa but invariably she'd have ended up with the nickname PG Tips when in the UK.

god yes forgot pixie!

i dont mean brave- i dunno what i mean.
all my dc have 'traditional' names and i lover there names, they do suit them(good job) just thinking of names we discussed when pregnany with each child.

i missed dh sugestion of nikita off the list because we try not to think about it.sorry if anyone has a dc named nikita.

If either DS had been a DD they would have been Kecia

As for the boys names I did not get to use (DH said no) Abraham, Lennox, Armond, (and Kecia for DS2)

i always loved the name Amethyst, which I know isn't technically a name, but Amber is, so why not?
It's a bit poncy though.

Ooh, Clemence is great, Homebird8, and I love Clement too.

Emerald is lovely I think.

DS' name has been a constant since 1992, so there was, for me, no alternative.
DD's name was chosen by DP, but I hankered after Evangeline. However, I have an irrational dislike of the name Evie, which would have been an inevitable NN.
if DD had been male, I was thinking along the lines of Zeke, Stigan and Tostig (although I wasn't 100% about Tostig, and it got a right old going over on here!).

juuule · 27/08/2009 16:15

Toyed with the idea of Octavia for our 5th dd (8th dc).

William and Matilda if I'd had boy/girl twins (Billy and Tilly)
