I went into toysrus yesterday and purchased an elonex etouch tablet pc. for DS1 and DS2 to use.

I set it up when I got home and found it to have a history which contained porn sites - therefore it was preowned.

I returned to the store and got a replacement.

I set it up and again have found not only a web page history of porn sites but downloads a well.

They are telling me they didn't know these had been returned as there is no record of them being which leads me to the conclusion that a staff member is using them.

So please if you buy this item please do check the history first!!!

I am doing an interview tomorrow with a local paper.

i think this happens alot - DS got an Iphone, supposedly brand new, but after a few months he found a call history which predated him buying the phone.

he didnt return it due to him having all his stuff on it and buying apps etc that he would have lost.

Call up the DM, sell your story and use the money to buy several more till you get one that isn't loaded with porn. Use the rest for a postmodern sculpture.

ILT, when the first one was returned yesterday they store connected it straight away to their wifi to check what wa said was true.

BOE, it was Old Kent Road store

HPOE, It was staff member somewhere along the line because it was a month ago, and tbh the stuff on there to me was a bit near the mark just from the wording used!!

Vicar, only because it is for DS1 (13 tomorrow) and DS2 (3yrs) did I have major problems with it especially DS1.

Schom, at the end of the day I think people who have bought these items or are thinking of doing so from the same store need to know some people don't understand how to check whether something has been used previously. Can you imagine a mum finding "Black ebony beauty deepthroats teen" on their sons/daughters pc tablet?

I'd be onto the nationals too, and some mag like Chat or TakeaBreak although you'd have to embellish the story a bit - say your child discovered it and is now in rehab or something.

VicarInATutu: he should've taken the iPhone back. You can set up a new iPhone from the backup of an old one through iTunes. He wouldn't have lost anything.

I don't want to make the kids look sad or embelish the story, this is just not a good thing. If I had given it to DS1 for his b'day and not checked it I would have thought he had been looking at it. Sad

But now you've told the world wide web that Toys R Us...Old Kent Road store have sold you 2 Elonex Etouch Tablets containing porn history, why on earth would the journalist bother with the interview?

It's probably being typed up by the Daily Wail as we speak.....

Worra, I don't want anyone else to be in this situation. I am glad I checked it although I was under the impression it was brand new and therefore shouldn't have needed checking for any history. Which is why I wonder if a sytaff member somewhere along the line has done this as it was a month ago.
