Weekly food shop done in M&S to feed a family of 2 adults, one child, one baby for a week. We already had basics like bread, milk, eggs and pasta.

Partner 1 thinks it's excessive

Partner 2 thinks it's a bargain

How much would you pay for this shopping?

Im an M&S food shopper and i think that it around £40

mindutopia · 29/06/2020 10:47

It's hard to see what some of it is, but I would guess about 55. I definitely couldn't feed my family of 4 on that for a week though.

Solongtoshort · 29/06/2020 10:48

I think it would be excessive but only because l don’t think l could afford to do a weekly food shop in M&S. That is largely down to me not living near a m&s food shop and being a massive Aldi/Morrison’s fan.

Kelsoooo · 29/06/2020 10:48

I'd price that about £40/45

OopsIDidItAgain07 · 29/06/2020 10:48

£65?

Wishforsnow · 29/06/2020 10:49

£70

msbevvy · 29/06/2020 10:49

At least £50 worth

titsbumfannythelot · 29/06/2020 10:50

£70

Twizzleisadancer · 29/06/2020 10:50

How much was it? Shopping at m and s is going to be on the higher end and for some that’s fine but not for others

SquitMcJit · 29/06/2020 10:50

£64

Redroses05 · 29/06/2020 10:51

£65?

weepingwillow22 · 29/06/2020 10:51

About 30 items, average of £2.50-£3 per item, I would estimate somewhere between £75 to £90

EmmaGrundyForPM · 29/06/2020 10:51

£50 -£60 but it wouldn't feed my family for a week

perkybutfull · 29/06/2020 10:52

£60 but I can't see it all. I don't think it would feed a family for a week though

SapphosRock · 29/06/2020 10:52

The most expensive item is the salmon fillets which are £14 for 5. You can get cheaper ones (5 for £10) but we all like the pricey ones.

£70?

Rosehassometoes · 29/06/2020 10:53

£60-£70.
Looks nice, but will be a bit more than other shops. That’s not a bad amount for a weekly shop though.

WhoWouldHaveThoughtThat · 29/06/2020 10:53

£60, everytime I go food shopping it seems to cost around £60. If a buy a lot of stuff or just one potato it costs £60. (I don't include wine in this as wine is not a food but comes under the category of medication) Wink

TheFlis12345 · 29/06/2020 10:54

I haven’t checked each individual item but I would say £70-£80.

doadeer · 29/06/2020 10:54

I buy lots of that stuff too, the mozerella is expensive as it's the nice one.

That's a lot of salmon fillets - I think they are about £7.

I think £65

If it feeds you for a week that's fine in my eyes but I shop at m&s too so maybe I'm not a good judge!

molifly14 · 29/06/2020 10:55

£60... which I think is expensive

happinessischocolate · 29/06/2020 10:55

£20-£30 but I shop in Aldi 😁

TheDogsMother · 29/06/2020 10:56

I'd say £55

Fightthebear · 29/06/2020 10:56

I’d say about £80 given M&S prices.

VettiyaIruken · 29/06/2020 10:57

M&s is quite expensive isn't it?

I'd guess about £100. Maybe a bit less.
