As the current thread is restricted only to discussing what is actually happening on the show, I thought I'd set up a spoiler thread where Instagram posts, Daily Mail articles etc are allowed to be discussed.

In no way is this meant to replace the main thread and discussions about the show. Just so that comments that are not allowed are able to be discussed.

Does anyone else suspect the whole Whitney/Matt affair may have been over hyped? Will it just be a case of them saying they would fancy in each other in real life and that's where it ends.

This group are such a load of drama llamas that they could blow anything out of proportion.

Surely April admitting she finds anyone else remotely attractive will send George spiralling.

They're a really terrible bunch this lot. I can't believe that any of them passed any profound level of evaluation tbh....... and were given the green light purely because of the drama they'd cause. I can't see Whitney liking Matt at all - so think that part is massively being over hyped.

I really hoped that once they changed the format to more like the Aussie one, it would get more interesting but it really hasn't..........

Whitney & Matt just don’t seem suited at all. I suspect it’s just a lust thing if anything.

Because given how Matt moans about Gemma, I can’t see him being serious about someone soooo whiny like Whitney.

There’s an interview with Matt if you want to know more about what happened - Yorkshire Press I think. Basically they shagged but he didn’t see it as cheating as he and Gemma hadn’t even seen each other for almost a week before the retreat: he’d asked to leave and been told he had to wait to the next Commitment Ceremony. Whitney/Gemma/Duka haven’t commented though.

I am very curious to see how the Whitney Matt scandal unfolds. Whitney comes across as cold and asexual to me at this point. It will be interesting to see if she is really different around Matt. I don’t see them being into each other at all. Maybe they have a meaningless drunk shag to get rid of some of their pent up frustration from dealing with their partners. so many of the post are now in posting frenzies on instagram. Either defending themselves or their friends or attacking someone else. Thomas’s stories are like middle school gossip. This group seems very into cliques. Tom loves Gemma and Jenna as his two favourites. PJ is his favourite guy.

Matt moved into his own room really fast. Wasn’t it on the honeymoon? Then straight to his own apartment.

Gemma was complaining that she never saw him. He was turned off by Day 2 or 3 and the ick just grew for him.

Crude and doesn't know where to draw the line. Matt definitely has the irreversible ick and I can't say I blame him tbh

Just read a disturbing headline that George was reported to the police three times by exes for abusive and coercive behaviour yet still allowed on show. April is apparently still in therapy. If that's true, it's horrific. Basd on George's behaviour I wouldn't be surprised

Moving over here because I just got flamed for asking if anyone has seen the article in the sun about 3 of George’s ex’s having previously contacted the police about his controlling behaviour.

That story doesn’t quite make sense. Three anonymous women say they went to the police to report love bombing and that felt he became controlling?

Women barely go to the police for violent partners, let alone to file reports that someone love bombed them. Since they all apparently went to the police, this one should have evidence to show, aka police reports. Maybe I missed it but did they show the police reports in telling their stories to the press?

No, no police reports shown. Channel 4 did put out a statement saying that their rigorous vetting didn't pick anything up. But then they also claim that the contestants go through rigorous psychological testing, so....

If true, then George really is a very abusive and a dangerous man and should never have been on the show.

Yeah, I think I will wait and see how this story evolves. Something about it just doesn't really sound right at this point. Police would surely investigate (at least go around) with three accusations of abuse against the same man. There should be good records of this.

What records do you expect? They say they shared what they had with the producers. What does reported mean? I reported someone to my local police for concerning behaviour; they made a note to keep on file in case it reoccurred but I’ve got no record myself of that.

There is an offence of coercive control that appears to be what he’s been accused of.

He says he knew nothing about it so, if true, and the reports were made, the police didn’t act.

The behaviour we’ve seen in front of our own eyes has had plenty of posters saying he is a walking red flag for exactly this sort of behaviour.

If three women are lying to the media then why?

Sorry, I meant to add, you would think the police would act, but who knows whether the three reports were made to the same force? Or to officers who felt that coercive control was serious. There are very many accounts of women finding domestic abuse minimised by individual police officers, and often cases of domestic abusers and serious sex offenders where multiple accusations of ‘low level’ offending have been made and not acted on before they commit the crime they are eventually convicted of.

Thats pretty concerning about George, although I don’t feel all that surprised to hear it given his behaviour on the show.

I’ve been in a relationship like that and his behaviour is identical.

Watching recent episodes, I was very uncomfortable with how George grilled April about details of past relationships. Something about him isn't right

I read that Whit and Matt spend the night together, hope there’s a bit more substance to it than tiny tears in the hot tub!
