I have a 17 year old, a 14 year old (both boys) and a dd who's 12 but going on 22 Smile.

Don't know about laid back Auntymandy - when it kicks off I turn to drink. Plus you can never get near the PC to complain about them!

Also lots of parents of littlies are sitting there thinking

'I won't let my teen do that?' or 'Is it really that bad?'

Aha!! little do they know Wink

I have 3 teenagers- all boys- 14, 16 & 18, and a dd of 20.

There never seems to be much doing on the teen boards but then the problems are harder!

We have just finished GCSEs, with one more week of A levels to go Grin

I have ds 12 who swings between being a nightmare almost teenager and still a little boy.He is still in bed and would stay there all day if I let him!

I have a dd (15) and ds (12). I think saggar hit the nail on the head - with teenagers in the house, it's a nightmare trying to get time on the computer, and even when you do you're bombarded with "have you finished yet? because I'm having a REALLY IMPORTANT conversation on msn" blah blah blah

I have a dss of 17 who lives with us full time and doesn't really see his mum. He is generally lovely with occasional bouts of serious pita-ness, sleeps too much, spends too much and doesn't shower enough. He is very good at looking after his 2.4 yr old sisterGrin

I have a teen, but to be honest I'm rather caught up with DTs. DS1 is a gorgeous lovely boy, but trust me... I do read the teen threads to see if there are any warning signs in my paradise. Smile

Another reason the teen threads are quiet is that we're always playing taxi, running them here there and everywhere........or is that just me?

Mum to a teen here too!
My ds1 is 14 & 99% of the time a total sweetheart but that 0.1%......... shudders.
Agalch- We're in a similar situation. Ds1 is 14, ds2 is 2 & I'll be having no.3 in Sept.
Good job i dye my hair otherwise I can see me turning grey what with a teen, toddler & newborn Wink

Forgot to add, Carmen, ds1 is like that with his younger brother. Not sure how long it'll last though once his stuff starts getting ransacked Grin

Have dd 13 and ds 9, thought everyone must be really laid back as it is so quiet on here. Everytime i looked on it was about Duke of Edinburgh awards - wouldn't get my daughter away from her friends long enough to do anything like that.

What i want to know is, she has changed overnight, when is she going to change back Grin

mell2 - I remember waking up one morning and thinking that aliens had taken my lovely son and replaced him with this hairy, grunting thing at the breakfast table.

He has come back this last 6 months though - just a shame they've taken ds2 now. Grin

lol so true!!!
Exactly like "Kevin" the teenager from Harry Enfield!
Is everyone elses teen obsessed with MSN & gossiping with their mates on it or is it just mine? Smile

Report
mell2 · 17/06/2006 10:09

lol at the aliens - they're everywhere!!!

The only reason i'm on the pc at the moment is because dd is out with friends already. MSN used to drive me absolutely mad but now i think at least she's here and i know she's safe Wink

Now ds wants to get me off pc to play simpsons
grrrr not fair.

Two teenagers - ds 14 and dd 13.
Both great on occasions - and not so on others Grin
We're not on here because what we were all told and didn't believe when they were toddlers (it gets harder) is true!
My two are at school on Saturdays though, so it's normally a quiet morning, although I'm off to work in a minute!

Just to scare you - in Ireland all schools, north and south are off 2 months in the summer. But in the south, when the big exams are off in June, other secondary students are off. Yes, 3 months of teenage sleep!

As someone who grew up in Ireland I view the short school holidays here as incredibly cruel!
