A new princessing/defrumping/groomed challenge

HelgatheHairy · 23/08/2013 18:09

So last year on 15th September I started a thread about a 100 day challenge to take us up to Christmas.

There are a few people who are interested in another try this year so this is a preliminary thread to see who's interested and people can gather any things they want. I'm sure most of us have a few face masks and things lying around.

This year I think we should include a defrumping element to the challenge which will focus more on clothes.

The grooming element is about putting the whole look together.

Am I making things too complicated??

The first link has the guidelines for princessing but there are no guidelines for defrumping and grooming.

I have a 13 day old DD so might not always get a chance to come on but will do my best to keep things up to date.

So are people in?

I'd love to do this - but I have a motivation issue (see my exercise thread!). But looking good, or at least not terrible or Christmas does appeal!

blueemerald · 23/08/2013 18:16

I'm in. Having a 'check list' appeals to the control freak in me Grin

ElBombero · 23/08/2013 18:17

Wo-ooo just what I need well from Next week onwards once baby arrives, already 3 1/2 stone up and feeling yuk and frumpy everywhere, cellulite down to my knees! Followed the old threads but never to the book. I want to be prepregnancy by Christmas

ElBombero · 23/08/2013 18:18

Oh this will work out well, starting from 15th... X

Karbea · 23/08/2013 18:19

I'm definitely up for this, but i'm on holiday till Thursday so won't be able to join in till then. I've been making small amounts of progress with my hair and makeup, but my diets crap and i'm mostly a slob.
I need to improve my diet as I think i'm doing IVF again in Oct (hello protein) and i've a friends big fat gay wedding in San Fran the end of Sept... and worst of all im 40 in Dec...

I'm totally up for it! Bring it on! :)

sillymillyb · 23/08/2013 18:24

Yes!!! I was thinking about the princessing threads just this morning as I harrumphed over what a state I look!

Can some one copy and paste the steps for it as I'm on my phone?

Yayyy for a gorgeous Christmas us!

Nyancat · 23/08/2013 18:26

I'm in for it, was always very into clothes and groomed, sort of came with my job but ended up so sick when pg with dd that just making it through the day in one piece was good, then horrific reflux of dd meant over a yr covered in vomit. Out the other end and need to get back to some semblance of myself!

thoughtsbecomethings · 23/08/2013 18:38

Count me in

WaxyBean · 23/08/2013 18:39

I'm in. I'm getting married in 11 months time so this will be a good start to pre-wedding grooming!

HelgatheHairy · 23/08/2013 18:40

sillymilly can you click on the first link on my post? The steps are on that.

I'm in, can't believe the state I've got myself into this year.

madamecake · 23/08/2013 19:00

I'm in. 2 babies in 2 years and I've let myself go. Not going to do any dieting as I'm still breastfeeding, but definitely need help with clothes, hair, everything really!

Foosyerdoos · 23/08/2013 19:02

I'm in, this will hopefully sort me out for my hols in October and Christmas.

ExactlyWhat · 23/08/2013 19:05

I'm in. Ditto to needing all the help I can get

NeoMaxiZoomDweebie · 23/08/2013 19:06

Why is called "Princessing"? I want to join in but my feminist inner is refusing to accept that title! Can't it be "Amazonian Queening" or something? Princesses are well groomed of course...I see the connection but it's a bit sickly for grown women no?

SlobAtHome · 23/08/2013 19:07

I'm in! Clothes etc is not a problem but I don't take care of myself and despite being slim I'm quite unhealthy.

So I will try follow this except for the fish thing (once is my aim) and the shred thing (I am already slim and toned and can't afford to lose more).

So is it the 15th we start?

SlobAtHome · 23/08/2013 19:08

I agree Neo. I thought the same about the title. Amazonian Queening is brilliant :o

Rummikub · 23/08/2013 19:08

Yes please. Congratulations helga on birth of your baby! I feel like I have no excuse now seeing as you can do this and look after a new born!

SlobAtHome · 23/08/2013 19:11

Here you go silly

  1. 8 glasses of filtered water a day
  2. Exfoliate (everything...within reason)
  3. Use teeth whitener
  4. Use anti-aging face cream
  5. Intensive nail care (feet and hands)
  6. Use eyelash growth serum OR eye cream
  7. The Shred / other intensive exercise
  8. At least 2 extra fruit & veg every day
  9. Healthy breakfast daily

10. Use hair oil (moroccan hair oil for eg, or kerastase etc)
11. No alcohol during the week & no boozing it up on weekends
12. Take vitamins every day
13. Body brushing
14. At least 2 servings of salmon or other fatty fish per week.
15. One early night once a week. Suggest 9PM.
16. Regular hair removal
17. Give up one naughty favourite item e.g. chocolate/crisps
18. No more fizzy drinks
19. DAILY body moisturising
20. Warm water with lemon first thing in the a.m.
Karbea · 23/08/2013 19:11

I think it's called Princessing as it was started initially around the time of the Royal Wedding.

I have just spoken to my mum, who was tempted to buy me a dress today but didn't because "I've put on a bit of weight", Great!

Rummikub · 23/08/2013 19:17

Oh wow, that's looks very comprehensive!

Like karbea said it's called Princessing as it was originally started as a countdown to the royal wedding. And I'm not sure i could spell Amazonian Queening correctly every time with a squirming baby in my arms!

Rummikup no guarantee I can do it yet!
