Athletic leap on To new thread.

OP posts:
GeorginaWorsley · 24/07/2012 18:44

Just posted on old on Blush

MangawhaiHeads · 24/07/2012 18:46

You girls move fast! I am a useless participant as am trying desperately to keep track.
Amber, tried on that very dress in Gap yesterday but did nothin for me. Ended up with a couple of striped ones instead. Nothing very exciting but perfect for a roasting day like this. Oh Lord it is hot.
Hopefully, was it you with the fab Learjet trousers? Amazing and potential, albeit cheaper version, once I continue my early morning runs :-)

MangawhaiHeads · 24/07/2012 18:47

Leather, as opposed to leather. Clearly.

MangawhaiHeads · 24/07/2012 18:47

Bloody predictive text!

Hopefully · 24/07/2012 18:59

Grin Manga. Rather like the sound of Learjet trousers - could possibly be even more expensive than the ones I have ordered! I have ordered these leather leggings and am waiting for them with baited breath. They will have to be bloody perfect and make me look like I weight approximately 8 stone to justify keeping though.

MIM meant to say, try not to let the nursery wall incident get to you - I reversed straight into a massive blue van in the middle of the nursery car park a few months ago, and I have been driving for 13 years without even the slightest mis hap. I wanted to absolutely die with embarrassment.

blossoming · 24/07/2012 19:11

Hi all. Thanks for the new thread red.
Have been to Giraffe, boy it was hot. Back at hotel with DH bathing the DCs.
Has been interesting people watching and city hot weather clothes watching. I almost think you can get away with beach type clothing as long as you have a good bag and sunnies.
The most stylish I saw was a slimline Asian woman in a red and white mini dress.

blossoming · 24/07/2012 19:12

Red and white breton mini dress..

darknessvisible · 24/07/2012 19:17

Goodness, I've missed loads - haven't been able to get on for ages as DH has been ill and work has been nightmarishly hectic (about which I am Hmm as it's not even term time!).
Always I've posted on pinterest but I have those NL boots in black and I'm very impressed with them. Seriously contemplating getting the brown too...
Hopefully Those leggings are gorgeous - the colour is divine. They would, however, make me look as large as a learjet, unfortunately!
My bump has suddenly grown loads and I'm properly showing now (pregnant rather than with a beer belly, hopefully). I'm wearing lots of jersey dresses from my non-maternity wardrobe though.

I'm mixed-race and so very blase about sun protection Blush and DS tans despite assiduous sun-protecting.

I'm very excited as I'm going to get a Brazilian Blowdry tomorrow to try and restore my frizzy/dry hair to some sort of decent condition. Anyone else had one?

darknessvisible · 24/07/2012 19:20

bloss that's a good point about good accessories making beach-wear acceptable for the city - I've come to similar conclusions people-watching at the British Library (where there are some very, erm, eccentric dressers!).

darkness I have had one and wasn't hugely impressed with it, to be honest. My hair felt quite limp. That said, while my hair is wavy and I have a lot of it, it is very fine, so it may work well on thicker hair? I'm sure you've already checked, but some BBs aren't suitable for pg ladies, due to the chemicals in them. I think portia loves them, so might give them a better rep.

Mangawhai I tried the stripy ones, and liked, but preferred the thicker straps on this one, due to ugly nursing bra.

Am cross, was cleaning and managed to bleach my pale grey white company sun dress. Am going to dye it navy

mim am scandalised by your awful doctor. Wrong profession, much? Everyone makes mistakes but the comment about not wanting to do it again shows a bad attitude. Well done you for sticking up for yourself. Oh, and if your nursery car park is anything like ours I wouldn't feel bad, no room to swing a cat!

red sorry things are tough with DH, hopefully it will all settle down soon.

marsha how great does your day sound? In a typically logical day I decided the hottest day of the year was an obvious choice for cleaning the whole house. Very, very hot now!

Darkness I am indeed a major fan of the BB, but I have 50 heads of really thick coarse hair. I would imagine that on a lesser follicly?! Blessed person it could leave your hair limp, dull and possibly a bit greasy looking, but for me it's fab and makes my hair manageable.

Weather here is still appalling, wet and humid. I went to a surprise 50th birthday lunch today for a pal, there was lots of style and bubbles!

Hopefully I am suffering from serious leather trouser envy, not something that a man would ever understand!

loobylu3 · 24/07/2012 20:43

Wow MIM. Am quite amazed at the GPs response- v unprofessional. An apology would have gone down better perhaps and then a suggestion of a refit at your convenience!
I have to admit that georgina is accurate in saying that nurses are much better at checking dates, etc than us GPs.

Hope the holidays will aid your DH's recovery red.

always- forgot to say the other day, so sorry to hear re your DS and thank goodness nothing dreadful found on the scan. I will keep my fingers firmly crossed for you.

Have had a much better day today- much less bickering between the DC and baby settled to sleep by 7pm (was 9pm last night and only lasted 30 minutes).

Have received the Boden catalogue today and found myself liking quite a few things!

notyummy · 24/07/2012 20:46

Keeping the olympic theme going, i think I would have to be the W & A heptathlon competitor. Lots of different things as I lose interest easily Grin. Not completely sure what sport (style) I want to commit to, so keep my hand in at a few different ones.

Am v excited about the real Olympics. (Well most events anyway ..anything which doesn't involve breaking a sweat and/or and can be done wearing a jumper doesn't count as a sport in my book. So that's archery out at the very least.)

AntPants1 · 24/07/2012 20:55

Hello ladies. Just a quick wave from Gozo!! Villa lovely. Am living in the pool. Am a mermaid! Have had quite a bit of wine and mim DH is almost humming Marvin Gaye!!!

Mwah. Back properly next week! Did we ever get new summer MU in the diary?

MrsCampbellBlack · 24/07/2012 21:08

Oh this weather is just bliss.

And how fab was the tdf at the weekend!

Had DD's birthday yesterday and had a lovely day although she was most upset this morning when she realised it was no longer her birthday.

Oh Ants I hope it's 'sexual healing' rather than 'the world is a great big onion' that' he is humming! Absolutly no Smokey Robinson action here for the foreseeable future - not while I've got a bloody expired coil!

What a pain, but I'll have to go and get it sorted out wont I?

Hopefully I can't find it online, but it's very similar to the ponte one in terms of cut, but the lining is a white silk. Agree with SE that they had some great blazers in and also a lovely pair or Leigh's with tiny polka dots.

MarshaBrady · 24/07/2012 21:57

Oh no MiM how annoying.

Ants sounds lovely.

It was a lovely day. I adore this weather. Dh top trumped me by have lunch poolside (which was so busy). Lucky thing Grin

Hopefully · 24/07/2012 22:48

Thanks MIM. Will have to scout our TS tomorrow, but it's not very big. Maybe will find time for bigger one on the weekend (with all that spare time I have right now...). If anyone sees one in their local TS this week and can be bothered to snap a phone pic and email it over, that would be fab Grin.

SE thanks for PM, have Watched Smile.

So bloody hot up in my workroom this evening. Time to call it a night.

florenceuk · 24/07/2012 22:50

Hopefully what about this: clothing/jackets +-+ coats/ ted baker?

Shoulder one is lovely (really like the lapel shape), but with my incredibly straight, broad shoulders I fear I would stray into perma-shrugged-shoulders territory.

Can't decide what to do today. Suspect we will stay at home and enjoy the sunshine. Will have to come up with plenty of water-play based activities for poor old DS2, who was so hot and bothered yesterday. Was debating a trip to a bigger topshop, but I can find time on the weekend if I need to, I think.
