Hi, Have just found this section, think its gonna be my new favourite.

Have been thinking of getting some havaianas but could anyone tell me the difference between these and some of the similar, cheaper ones?

And they last - I bought a pair in Australia in 2001 (before they became such a big thing) and they're still going strong

Like maryann says - Thayer just seem more kind of rubbery which is more comfy. Def the most comfortable flip flops ihave ever owned. Had mine 2 years now and look exactly the same as the day i bought them Shock

Oh well i think might have to try a pair out for myself then as going through 2 or 3 cheap pairs each summer.

Thanks :)

they are worth the extra money, if you are a flip-flop lover like wot I am Smile

I have several pairs, the oldest being over 7 years old and still going strong. Well worth the money and at the moment our local TK Maxx have loads in stock so may be worth a look in your nearest one.

They are definitely more comfy than other flip flops, and I'm not a big flip flop lover.

I only really came onto this thread to gloat that I bought my Brazil ones in Rio for two quid (and pretty much every single person I saw in that city was wearing a pair), and some blue ones in Panama for £1.50 Grin

My sil is from Brazil and nearly keeled over when I told her how much Havaianas cost in this country. Have made the most of her trips back by placing orders for more pairs/colours Grin

I've just ordered some for DD1 and I from Asos with 20% code ASOSLOOK (brings them down to under £13)

22 pairs here Blush

You will never buy another brand again, comfy from day one and last and last! My Black Tops started to give up last summer, but they are, I think, 10 years old and actually still going strong, just shabby!

Havaianas are truly the best flip flops. I asked my brother to please bring me back a pair when he was in Brazil and he did!.

I much prefer Ipanemas, but Havaianas are excellent too

I love Havaianas. They're recycled rubber so very right-on. Other brands tend to be either foam (soft and comfy but no support and your legs and feet feel 'jarred' by the end of the day) or plastic (more support, but hard). Havaianas have support but softness. Bliss.

Great colour/pattern options too.

I love my Havaianas .......SOOOOOOO comfy.
I bought loads out in Kos - not quite £2 but were between £6-£8 depending if plain/ patterned .

As mentioned - they are more rubbery , and others in similar price range are less flexible. Even worn all the time they don't seem to wear down .

Love them, love them, love them. Would buy if they were twice as much. Divide money they cost/time spent in and they pay for themselves over and over. Philosophy: Uggs Oct-March, Havs April - Sept

Yep, I have some and they're great.

I love my Havaianas - they are much more comfortable than cheaper flipflops, last forever (and mine get a good beating daily on the beach as well as as on the pavements so I am very hard on them) and look great.

What's not to like? Grin

I simply cannot wear flipflops! How do you keep them on your feet?

Report
QuickLookBusy · 16/05/2011 12:40

Love them, they are very comfortable and don't have that horrible rubbery smell which other flip flops tend to have.
