Just wondering really! Dp and I have been together 14 months, lived together 4 months (not engaged yet btw!), my sister has just got engaged after 7 weeks so all my family a bit sceptical.

8 weeks!

Just under 2 years, then married a year later. We'd decided long before that to get married but needed to sort logistics.

DH proposed to me 4 weeks after we met (at uni). Although on the face of it, it seemed mad, when he asked me I just couldn't say no! We were engaged for 5 years and have been married for 16 years.

Been together getting on for 17 years now btw, celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary in a couple of weeks.

Engaged after 3 weeks! I knew he was The One as soon as I saw him. I was 24, he was 34.

Married 10 months after our 1st date.

We have been married 6 years, 2 DS.

Ten days grin then married twelve months later. Still going strong five years on.

Ironically until I met DH I had no intention of ever marrying anyone!

19 months. We are getting married this year after being engaged for 3 and a half years.

7 months, most of which was long distance. Still together and happily married 11 years on.

Engaged after 3 years, married a year later. Have been happily married for 5 years so far.

We didn't really do it. We got married 3 months after we met so while the (very short) period between deciding to marry and actually marrying is I suppose technically an engagement, we never bothered telling people we were engaged, we just asked them if they were free in a couple of weeks. grin

2 weeks. Now been together for 16 years. Married for 10 of those... happilygrin grin

4 months. We got married 1 year after we got together.

We had known each other (only at work) for a couple of years.

I was 25 and he was 33.

Still together 10 years later!

WaitingForMe Fri 22-Mar-13 19:04:26

I proposed after 18 months, a few weeks after my divorce finalised and within 24 hours of realising he probably believed me when I said I'd never marry again but I absolutely had to marry him.

DH proposed on the 1st anniversary of when we met. We got married 8 months later - that was 13 years ago smile

Why are your family sceptical OP? 14 months isn't that long...

Met in Dec 1990, got engaged in April 1991, moved into out first house June 1991, got married in August 1992. Love the guy so much. Wouldn't know what I 'd do without himsmile

Coffee1Sugar Fri 22-Mar-13 19:14:13

Noo not sceptical of ME they love my guy! Sceptical of you sister being engaged after a few weeks. Sorry if op was unclear! smile

5 months.
Married for 18 years now.

11 months. Married 8 months later, nearly 6 years wed and so happy.

PopeBenedictsP45 Fri 22-Mar-13 19:18:10

Eight years. But fate dealt us a hand and we were forced to get married for visa reasons, wouldn't have done it at all otherwise.

Snazzynewyear Fri 22-Mar-13 19:19:23

Four years. Got married a year later.

phlebas Fri 22-Mar-13 19:20:13

4 days! We've got our 15th anniversary coming up this year smile
