Thought I'd start a new thread as as soon as evie pops we're bound to fill it hugely and some of us have phones to work with!

merryberry Sat 29-Aug-09 08:53:42

hello new thread!

ilovegreenbeans Sat 29-Aug-09 10:27:37

thanks turtle!

Ewe Sat 29-Aug-09 12:55:44

Just marking my place. Poo pyramid sounds hideous! [bleurgh]

Dontpanic Sat 29-Aug-09 15:31:31

good one, I was thinking we need a new thread the other day!
So, when does the "am I in labour" marathon start and will it be a 100m sprint this time round?

JFly Sun 30-Aug-09 10:14:38

Good luck Evie! Hope to hear about new baby when back from the States.

CricketsMum Sun 30-Aug-09 18:58:09

hello all

back from a lovely week in Cornwall. DD was an angel in the car - took over 6 hours each way so definite ice cream credits for her (which she redeemed as she finally figured out that ice cream is a good thing, not an instrument of torture!). Weather wasn't great but still spent lots of time on the beach and paddling in rock pools, and as my mum was there DH and I got a bit of a break too which was lovely.

Can't believe the second babies are soon to be on their way - good luck Evie!

Whoever asked about lefties... might have one here although she is fairly ambidextrous still, but definitely uses her left hand a lot more than I expected, and there is a family history on her dad's side so we'll see.

Really hoping she goes to bed early tonight - am looking forward to curling up with a glass of wine and a film... it's suddenly feelign quite autumnal!

hope you are all having a good weekend.

Well...it's official. I'm going to be a single mum.

Oh Turtle, really sorry to hear that. Are you ok would be a stupid question, but if there's anything I could do please shout.

Ewe Mon 31-Aug-09 20:14:38

Oh turtle, that is shit. I am having lunch with a (lovely, but quite new!) friend and her two boys in Epsom tomorrow if you fancied coming along? We're doing park and picnic, just shout if you fancy it, you have my number. Sending you big virtual hugs.

Dontpanic Mon 31-Aug-09 20:16:53

{{{turtle}}}, sorry you couldn't find a way to make it work. xxx

Dontpanic Mon 31-Aug-09 20:18:06

CM, glad you had a good holiday, I look forward to doing a Cornwall trip maybe next year with pooch and E. Ice cream was discovered back in Feb when major tantrums were thrown until I shared mine.

turtle23 Mon 31-Aug-09 20:20:26

Ewe-that is very kind but I am not good company right now. Will be very pleased if P and I make it out of the house at all. blush

Ewe Mon 31-Aug-09 20:25:49

Well the offer still stands! I am not doing anything after lunch either so if you fancy tea/cake and silence then that is fine too, honestly, please just get in touch if you need anything.

turtle23 Mon 31-Aug-09 20:56:44

Thanks, Ewe. At the moment I have a grey face with purple eye bags and red eyes that are nearly swollen shut. It's certainly not a look I fancy inflicting on the world. Still....if I have a personality transplant by lunchtime will take you up on cake.

ilovegreenbeans Mon 31-Aug-09 21:10:42

hey turtle, just wanted to send my thoughts your way too. Be kind to yourself and hope you and P have a nice cuddle tonight.

JFly- a ham and cheese toastie?? You think maybe they were hungry? Enjoy your trip!

turtle23 Tue 01-Sep-09 06:36:07

Just to say...those of you on FB please dont say anything on there. We have a big family wedding on Saturday and I dont want to ruin the day for them with finding out just yet.

merryberry Tue 01-Sep-09 09:46:21

also thinking of you ++++ turtle xfx

Oh turtle..so sorry to hear that. stay strong xx

Dontpanic Tue 01-Sep-09 12:15:32

No probs turtle, sorry if my post was not cryptic enough, you'd better not post anything on there yourself as you'll give it away for anyone who knows you!

Really hope you get the living accom situation sorted quickly, you should hopefully find it easier when you don't have your 3rd big kid to worry about as well as everything else. My friend in similar situation did find it easier when it was just her in charge of things, rather than thinking her OH would help out & then finding he let her down at last minute.{{{hugs}}}

Dontpanic Tue 01-Sep-09 12:23:16

deleted my comment now btw...and turtle, what shoes did you get in the end or are you still searching?

turtle23 Tue 01-Sep-09 12:54:17

Pic of shoes at end of last thread...would find it but they're quite boring...

CricketsMum Tue 01-Sep-09 13:50:57

Turtle - very sorry to hear that. Hope you're ok. Thinking of you.

Gah! Just typed a really long catch post to celebrate the return of broadband to our corner of the shire, and Ff came wandering past and deleted it. Maybe a sign that I should be playing with her, rather than MNing? Still...I've started so I'l finish.

Evie good luck! I am sending you quick and painless vibes. Let us know how it all goes. (Because, obviously, you're going to have LOADS of time for the internet now, aren't you?)

ILGB am really glad the scan went well, and am very excited for you.

merryberry how are you feeling? Is it this week you get your drugs delivered?

JFly have an awesome time in the US. Please wave in the direction of El Centro. I believe a man I once lived with, back in the dim and distant past is there.

turtle more hugs for you, P and the bump. I hope that you're getting used to your decision, and are all doing ok. It was lovely to meet you properly last week. Ff had a great time getting muddy with P! And the rain held off, so we didn't get wet.

Can we organise a meet up before the weather becomes too disgusting for us to all meet outdoors? Ff and I can get to London without too much drama (because this time, and for all other trips FOREVER I will be getting the train, not the bus), and it would be lovely to do a big picnic thing.

Same old same old here. Term starts in three weeks, which I am very excited about, and I am trying to do the preliminary reading and get up to date on my freelance stuff while supervising Ff. Have chosen a really nice nursery for Ff's one day a week, and am happy that she'll be well looked after there. It remains to be seen how well I cope on her first day, but Bloke will be doing the drop off.

Ff absolutely in love with her Crocs and the dolly and pram my mother bought her this weekend. Bloke is (apparently) back in a fortnight or so, but I am so used to us being on our own now that I am finding it hard to muster excitement about seeing him. I miss him loads, but it feels unreal that he will be coming back and STAYING back, if you see what I mean?

Hope everyone is ok.

Ewe Tue 01-Sep-09 17:51:23

Well, I am hopefully only going to be working two days a week soon as I have just applied to university <nervous> for a this academic year start in a BA in Politics and Sociology. Eeeek!

Would love to sort out a meet up, at the moment Wednesdays are the only days I can do. Which Wednesdays suit people?
