janedoe25 · 07/10/2011 07:37

OMG! I can't believe how quick we go through the last thread! LOVE the title deb Grin

reastie I have no advice for you, but I hope you are ok?

ILovePonyo · 07/10/2011 08:05

New thread already?! Shock Am also loving the title deb :)

Pretty good night here but am not going to spend today analysing the reasons why Wink

deb I love ikea! Good for you with the 4 free cuppas Grin

Hope reastie is ok.

Off to give A her brekkie, back later.

chocoroo · 07/10/2011 08:08

So excited for Jane's wedding...do we all know what we're wearing?

Ok, marking my place and off to catch the end of the last of the old thread...

Emski76 · 07/10/2011 08:34

Love, love, love the new thread title Debs!

Had a quick browse through the old thread, and can't remember most of it but wanted to add some support to Reastie and say yep, go with what the others have said and get her up in the evening if she's wide awake. Seems she's doing so well for her naps. Noah has fed to sleep for a few naps this week as I've had to tweak his 'routine' a bit as I never know when he's going to nap at the moment. And most nights he feeds to sleep but can settle himself in the night.

Have had unsettled nights with Noah the last few nights. Were not quite sure why. Last night I had to give him baby Nurofen at 9.30 ish then he was stirring at 4 ish, we left him a while but he started to get upset, so we brought him in with us and he fell asleep about half hour later. We didn't wake until 7 when Ben came in. I'm hoping he has a tooth coming. The other reason could be separation anxiety as he has started to cry and follow me whenever I leave the room!

Are we decided on what to wear for Janes wedding?

Jane, I'm so sorry Zoe wasn't mentioned at the funeral yesterday. She will always be part of your lives and people will have to accept and feel comfortable with that.

Off to my sisters today as feeling a bit crap and don't want to be on my own with the boys.

Have good days

Deliaskis · 07/10/2011 09:04

Morning ladies, good thread title Deb . Can't believe how gobby we are. I am sure we get through threads faster than most of the other pn groups?

C has this morning narrowly escaped being sent to nursery with her shirt on back to front. She has one blouse that buttons up the back and has bows etc. on the front, and DH hates it and can't ever do the buttons, but today, totally different shirt, buttons up the front with detailing on the front etc. and to me (or perhaps any woman...?contraversial!) was quite obvious it was a normal open-at-the-front shirt, but DH puts in on her with the buttons up the back, and really plain undetailed bit at the front. Doh!

How many bottles/BFs are people still doing now we're getting on more with solids. We've decided to drop C's teatime one (that went with food), so now she has one first thing, mid-afternoon and last thing, and still a little one with lunch, which I will look to replace with water when she seems ready.

Suddenly went really cold yesterday and I have discovered we have misplaced one of C's bigger winter/thicker sleeping bags so will be ordering some new ones. Any recs of good value/discount ones anywhere?

reastie hope A slept.

Anyway, have a nice day ladies, back later.
Dx

wigglesrock · 07/10/2011 09:26

deadka great thread title Grin

I don't know what you lot are wearing for the big day but if anyone has the same outfit as me, I'll feckin' kill them Grin

Deliaskis Anna has one when she gets up sometimes, she can't be bothered with this one a lot of the time, one mid morning, a little one in the afternoon, bedtime and then one through the night.

janedoe25 · 07/10/2011 09:26

delia Grin at dh attempts at dressing Claudia!

I'm LOL at you all dressing up for my wedding!

ponyo yay for the good night!

Im off work today, going to spend the day chilling. I am still not sleeping at night! I am going to be so exhausted tomorro, I can see me being a spoil sport and going back to the hotel early!

ReastieHorrorShow · 07/10/2011 09:45

d I got Alice a grobag from tkmaxx in their clearance - might be worth a nosey if you have one near you. Grin to dhs dressing dilemmas. Aside form the incident a few months ago where dh put alice in a winter coat 2 sizes too big for indoor wear he's always doing odd things with alices clothes. He can't work tights out Hmm and has been known to put alice in dresses inside out and back to front Shock [sigh]

oh, and d feed wise we are finally slowly managing to drop some feeds, especially now she's not feeding to sleep. We have one first thing, one (sometimes 2 in the morning), one an hour or so after lunch, one mid/late afternoon, one just before bed and one dreamfeed, so that makes 6 on average.

I don't have an outfit for janes wedding yet but I will use my christening outfit once I've found one (the granny styled on was a summer dress so now need to find something more weather appropriate for november)

jane I heard on the weather there might be snow in scotland and I'm now imagining you and all your friends being snowed in on your boogie bus with lots of alcohol too keep you warm Shock

deb thanks for new thread - that one went quick. We'd better not talk too much or we'll be on another one for janes wedding Hmm

ledkr how's the head?

wiggles (and possibly ledkr if my memory serves me right) re: happyland - is this something pretty much all children like to play with? I'm thinking about if anyone asks what Alice wants for christmas to say anything happyland related so she has it ready for when she can play with it during the year. Does this sound a good plan?

ponyo re: Alice not being upset with me. Maybe I should have been more specific. She's not pining and eviling me all day it's just the few minutes after I pick her up from a nap she looks so untrusting and insecure. It might of course be in my head.

ems hope you feel better soon

Well, sleeping update. After the screams in the evening she didn't properly wake up all night until 7am Shock Grin . I think I've decided (but need to check what dh thinks) to pick her up in that evening cry like you all say it's OK to do. Hopefully I won't ruin all the work by doing that if I keep at it for the other sleeps/naps. She has an even horser voice today from the screaming Shock Sad

chocoroo · 07/10/2011 09:49

Have concluded I cannot possibly catch up properly but sending hugs to Jane for getting through yesterday. I'm sure Zoe was only omitted as people didn't want to upset you.

ponyo Yay to good sleeps. We're having s bit of a nightmare (for us) week and I've spent three nights in R's room as she's been so unsettled. I'm blaming teeth which are causing snot and a bad cough.

delia What is it with men and their inability to dress babies?! Do those of you with boys have the same problem?

And as for bottles - R just has three now, one at breakfast which I use some of to make her cereal, one at about 2pm which usually sends her to sleep and one at bedtime. They're all 8oz and she usually has a few oz of water during the day too although most of that usually ends up on the floor

Jane Put a nice film or box set on, get a pot of tea and curl up. I'll join you if that's ok!

Off to the Nature Centre this afternoon with a friend and her baby. They have monkeys and everything!

Deliaskis · 07/10/2011 09:56

Oh and reastie Waitrose toast is of course toast made with beautiful waitrose granary bread hand milled and baked in an oven heated by the warmth of the sun, spread lovingly with butter hand churned by milk maids with blond pigtails...etc. etc. etc.

Good news re A's sleep, did you do that thing where you woke up at 7 and thought OMG, what happened?

wigglesrock · 07/10/2011 10:10

reastie great news re last night. I love Happyland, but I have banged on about it on so many theads, I think people think I'm an ELC operative Grin

Sofia and Olivia have a few different sets, the tea house, vet etc and Olivia has the fairy castle, and lots more. We have Windmill Cottage bought and put away for her birthday/Christmas. At the minute Anna loves the figures she can swap them in her hands, she also likes eating the dinosaurs and rolling the cars. A few sets were 20-30% off last week on ELC website but they usually reduce around Halloween and in the 2 weeks before Christmas. They do a box which zips down into a street scene, they love this and A loves getting in the box when its zipped up Grin

chocoroo and deliaskis Mr W gets worse with dressing the girls, he was OK with S, worse with O and dreadful with Anna. He has buttons up the back issues too and we can't speak about tights. I have completely lost my patience with him loads of times. It is completely baffling to me how someone who can drive really fast with flashing lights, carry a gun, chase youths for just being youths Grin goes to pieces if I ask him to find a bodysuit, one with short sleeves and starts gibbering " is that the same as a vest?" Grin

wigglesrock · 07/10/2011 10:30

Oh and on the toy note my sister bought A the Fisher Price toy phone - the basic one, B&M strikes again Grin, and she loves it.

Deliaskis · 07/10/2011 10:50

wiggles am LOL at 'is that the same as a vest' [panic]!

Bledkr · 07/10/2011 11:54

wiggles I often say to dh "how do you hold down a responsible job?" He was trying to do something for Ella the other day,put batteries in a toy.I snatched it from him after a few moments saying"its like watching a monkey with a puzzle!" it is now his new fav saying.
no knowledge of happy land here,am an authority on Sylvanian, bratz and barbie tho Grin
D has loads of toys but would rather play in the fireplace with the coals and candles, she is currently ripping up the mail by the front door but ive lost the will to keep moving her.
reastie I must admit i was feeling as if feed to sleep was the root of all Dillys sleep probs but she is sleeping well at the mo and feeding to sleep always.I am thinking that will change soon tho as she is a bit croaky this morning and moany. She slept 7-5.30 but i didnt mind cos dh got up after enquiring about my head and me replying "still abit sore" in a pathetic voice Grin I also jumped on him last night so he was under my spell haha.
I got a nice thick gro bag from primani for 6 squid,i also use avest and baby gro sometimes a cardi too and have a heater for the really cold nights-pom-precious older mum.

deadka · 07/10/2011 11:58

love it bledkr haha

OP posts:
Deliaskis · 07/10/2011 11:58

Thanks for grobag recs all. Our house does get cold in winter at night, but we're moving at the end of the month so new house will be totally different.

Dx

wigglesmonsterock · 07/10/2011 12:12

bledkr Grin, may be stealing monkey with a puzzle.

Bledkr · 07/10/2011 13:15

f'ing hell-quick vent. She wont sleep again,it like torture.wont nap but so tired and so wont play either.i cant do anything at all and where i keep trying stuff-milk,drinks food etc the house is getting more and more messy, its awfull and have things to do havent even eaten yet.
ideas?

wigglesmonsterock · 07/10/2011 13:22

Put her in her pram in the house, get yourself something to eat, we haven't napped here either Hmm

chocoroo · 07/10/2011 13:37

Napping is "interesting" again here. R is crying lots so I've Calpol-ed her - seems to have done the trick for now...

Bledkr · 07/10/2011 13:47

I went for a walk but no joy,am just shovelling horrible food whilst she plays,i gave her some calpol too.I couldnt care less if she's up all day as long as she plays for abit. Thnks tho.

ReastieHorrorShow · 07/10/2011 16:18

bledkr this will cheer you up - I just realised I answered the door to the sainsburys man and collected all my shopping from him with my flies undone Shock Blush . Gosh I'm sharing your pain - Alice been really really unsettled today and is not happy doing anything and will not sleep. She's crying in her cot now Confused . She sounds so desperate bless her Sad . Do you have a sling you can stick her in so at least you have free hands and she doesn't crawl all over the fireplace. That's the best I can come up with I'm afraid.

wiggles I'm Envy of toy phone thingy - I'm debating whether to get one for alice as she loves phones/remotes but can't justify the expense when she has so many toys already. But if I had a kind sister to buy one for me then I would be v pleased Grin

jane hope you had a restful day. Did you ever find the double buggy btw? It reminded me earlier when I saw heaps for sale locally to me on gumtree - if only you lived nearer!

Bledkr · 07/10/2011 18:45

Well she didnt sleep despite 2 trips in the car and one in the buggy.I took her to ds3's to play with dgs and she had the audacity to fall asleep on the way home from dancing at 6.30-yeah right.I oiked her out of the car despite Ellas cries of "ah Mum,she was asleep" She is in the highchair flinging cauli cheese about and farting and then its bath and bed for her-sleep at 6.30 indeed Angry I think not.Id rather be up at 5 than have her roaming the house till 9 haha.I quite like tea and toast at 5.30 whilst watching films tbh.
reastie the sainsburys man prob didnt even notice. He probsbly see worse haha. The sling is ok but cos im so hot all the time its unthinkable.I think its the prozac btw making me hot but im scared to change it,will see Dr next week.Dilly is looking at me surrounded by food and the bowl is on the floor, better se if she wants desert.

deadka · 07/10/2011 20:45

ledkr I really hope D went off ok for you, and reastie that A has been quiet this evening :) choc do you think R is sickening for something?

Just watched the final of the Great British Bake Off- we all clapped and cheered when they announced the winner, she did so well.

OP posts:
ILovePonyo · 07/10/2011 20:46

Hmm what is it with the non napping babies today, dd has been very random with her naps, earlier today she was obviously tired but just lay very still on the floor for 10 mins (eyes open) and was then ready to go again Hmm
We went to singing in the afternoon and she was just tired and grumpy the whole time, wah-ing away and being unimpressed, good job she's cute Grin

Has anyone else noticed that they can;'t eat around their baby anymore?! dd wants whatever I am eating even if its the same as her. Earlier I tried to eat my breakfast and she was crawling at my feet whimpering like I don't feed her Hmm

Bledkr like the name, Grin at hoiking sleeping Dilly out of the car. Bit of a thicko question but how do you make caulif cheese?! Never made it but might try A on it one day.

delia if anything A is drinking more milk now as well as her food, she's havng 5x 5oz bottles a day but then I think she is always going to be a bit behind with her food compared to other babies! She's doing well with her proper food now as loong as she doesn't cry for no reason in her high chair Hmm

jane hope you've had a nice relaxing day :)

reastie heres hoping for another good night, is A up at the mo with you before bedtime?

choco Nature centre sounds lovely, where abouts is it? Am back in brum the next couple of weekends. Poor you and R with the unsettled nights, hpe things get better soon.

wigs I will beheading down to asda soon for pumpkin bootees, oh yes :) A has v long feet but I will squish them into pumpkins somehow.

I can't think of a halloween namechange, lame.
