The thread in Chat has gone to thread heaven. Silly Zombie thought it wasn't due to go until tomorrow so missed her chance to ask HQ to move it here.

She slept well last night and feels reasonably well this morning.

Glad we are back ! I was quite horrified when I found you gone ! Glad you slept well and hope you are picking up again now. It's a nuisance when the threads go after 90 days, especially when they aren't full and there is no warning they are due to go, it maybe a good idea if MNHQ could put a little warning that the thread is going in 24 hours or something.

Hope you not mind my crashing but just came across this thread (haven't seen the previous one).

My BF has secondary cancer and it ain't going well .. She is 43, has an 8 year old and a husband who is not supportive in the slightest (he went on his own to a family party less than 24 hours after she was told the cancer had retuned after ten years, leaving her home alone!)

I'm also a BIG g&t girl

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. I hope she has plenty of friends like you around to support her. Pity about the useless husband but I understand that as well. Mine left me for another woman while I was undergoing treatment for my previous Breast Cancer. Even though my more recent Breast Cancer is Stage 4 with liver mets, it's been a lot easier to deal with without him around.

I had a pretty good night's sleep and a nice nap (while MN was offline!).

Not sure what stage she is but my bf now has tumours in her spine, lymph nodes, throat, both breasts, liver and pelvis.

Her useless husband rang me in a rage one evening because she doesn't want to go skiing at Christmas! His exact word were 'I wish the stupid c*t would f**ing die tomorrow, she's ruining things for everyone" how the hell do you respond to that??

On a a day to day basis she's really not coping, drinking in excess of a bottle of wine every evening.

So difficult to know what to do to help

Very sorry for your friend cavkc I would guess just listening is the best help you can give. And pick up on hints she drops that would make things easier for her.

I would say with all those health issues and a ghastly husband, a bottle of wine a night is the least of her problems.
