We've been asked by Dyson to find 15 MNers who are willing and able to try out the new Dyson Digital Slim - DC44.

Dyson say "The Dyson Digital Slim(tm) is one of Dyson's newest inventions and is a lightweight cordless vacuum cleaner, engineered for nimble, high performance spot cleaning. From cobwebs in corners to quick skirting boards and stairs, it is balanced for floor to ceiling cordless cleaning.

Dyson's DC44 is also perfect for quick clean ups - so you'll be ready for any surprise visitors this festive period"

More info here

We're looking for MNers to try this who:
~ are around between now and Christmas eve to receive the product (and ideally have a house-full of guests)
~ are at home over Christmas break to try it out (it's ideal for whizzing round under the tree)
~ willing to add feedback - at least twice - to a thread on Mumsnet over the festive season - we'll be looking for you to add your responses to some questions and also to add further thoughts
~ willing to add a review here
~ are in the UK

Dyson would also like to set MNers some challenges with their DC44 - these will be sent to the selected testers and you'll be asked to add your feedback on how you got on with the challenges.

We're also looking for the testers to send in some video footage of the DC44 being used around the home - and completing the challenges. If you're happy to make a film for Dyson please tick the box on the application form. If you're selected you'll be asked to film yourself, your children and any pets in your home using the DC44. This shouldn't be too onerous. You'll then need to send in your footage to MN. Please note the videos will then be edited into a montage and will feature on dyson.co.uk as well as on the Dyson YouTube channel and possibly elsewhere (eg Facebook, MN) - your name will not be used. You will be sent notes on filming.

If you'd like to take part please add your details here

Please note : if selected products will be sent out this week for delivery before Christmas - please only apply if you are around then for delivery and can also feedback. And for those not successful on becoming a tester, you will be emailed by MN details of a special Christmas treat from Dyson.

If you add feedback as required you will be able to keep the product.

Thanks MNHQ

PS if you don't get selected or aren't able to apply for this test, please keep an eye out for the feedback thread where you could win a Dyson product of your choice.

not sure if my application has gone through, but with 4 kids, 2 dogs, 3 cats and 3 gerbils, this would be a very worthwhile addition to the house grin

EggNogKnockers - no tis fine

Kippersbigfeet Tue 18-Dec-12 14:33:58

Done. Have a GSD that is shedding tonnes of hair at the moment. Lots of plaster dust from replastering walls and ceilings, dog hair, a new baby that screams at the sound of the current one. Oh and did I mention dog hair!!!!

shaztwins1 Tue 18-Dec-12 14:35:51

hope i get this one it will cheer me up no end, hubs is leaving new years day for a 10 month deployment so any help training the kids to use this with cleaning up over xmas will be a bonus wink

BitofSparklingPerry Tue 18-Dec-12 14:37:09

Filled out - if it can be used by an elderly lady, a student, 6 other adults, 2 small children and a cat I will be seriously impressed! Can blog on The Camels Hump, which gets a respectable amount of views, can video and can definitely get good use from it...

(Although I did put BrittaPerry rather than my christmas name - is that ok?)

applegate Tue 18-Dec-12 14:43:56

Oh me please, 3 messy children, a wild spaniel puppy, and a houseful of guests over christmas in deepest muddiest dorset..............
Please please please

lubeybooby Tue 18-Dec-12 14:47:09

Themobstersknife Tue 18-Dec-12 14:50:18

LoonyRationalist Tue 18-Dec-12 14:53:50

Ann & Katie thanks smile

scripsi Tue 18-Dec-12 14:56:39

Have completed survey, our vacuum is conspiring against me hmm

Ooh, pick me! Would be perfect for our 3 storey house with 3 kids including a newborn. I've not been able to do the hallway since he was born sad

Done form! Anything that can suck p all the dog hair and reach the cobwebs would receive a lot of use in this house

TheToadLessTravelled Tue 18-Dec-12 15:11:07

Pick me pick me!!

Oatcake loving toddler = constant cleaning up of little bits of biscuit etc off the floor or off my socks! Not worth getting the big vac out for but drives me nuts

BlatherskitedaboutChristmas Tue 18-Dec-12 15:11:43

I need one of these. I have no room to store anything and would love something more lightweight. I've always had Dysons but hate our current one so much I'd never buy another in case it was as bad - I'd love to be convinced that they're better now - I did my degree in Industrial Design at just the time that the first Dysons became popular and we all hero worshipped James Dyson.

Fingers crossed, we were eyeing hem up in sainsburys the other day

Bobolbach Tue 18-Dec-12 15:21:44

DOne here. WIll be keeping fingers firmly crossed for this one.
I could sob with the amount of cleaning and tyding up I have to do before Christmas.

If you're selected you'll be asked to film yourself, your children and any pets in your home using the DC44"

Made me giggle, read it as being asked to film your pets using the dc44. The dogs a dab hand at the hoovering.
[childish]

I've applied.. Wonder if it can cope with the hair from 3 dogs and 3 cats?!

waitingforgodot Tue 18-Dec-12 15:42:38

done. Hope I get picked so I can star in my own video!

Fillybuster Tue 18-Dec-12 15:52:00

oooh....!

<squeals>

BabylonElf Tue 18-Dec-12 15:54:53

Done!!

Fingers, legs, toes, ears and eyes firmly crossed and will remain so until further notice.

I don't just want this, I NEED it!!!! grin

It would mean me being able to spend some of the festive period with my DH and DCs instead of being stuck behind a Hoover that couldn't suck the skin off a rice pudding in its current state :-s
