Chris Corcoran, presenter of CBeebies' Doodle Do will be joining us for a live webchat on Mumsnet on Friday between 1-2pm.

And, lovely chap that he is, he's recorded a special pre-webchat video for you to watch - see below.

To celebrate Children's Art Week (6-12 July), Chris has joined forces with Haliborange to host a series of exclusive creative master classes for its newly launched Shiny School. Chris has created three imaginative tutorials for Haliborange Shiny School, designed to suit ages 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12 years and needing no specialised or expensive equipment. The site gives parents ideas and tips on how to have fun and learn something new as a family, and also provides nutritional advice.

Chris is happy to answer all your questions (within reason!) during this sponsored chat, and will also be giving some creative inspiration for things to do with your children over the summer holidays.

If you can't make it on the day, please feel free to post your advance questions here.

Clever, isn't it?

<air of techy nonchalance>

I love him and his lilty Welsh voice. I make my children watch Doodle Do even though they are too old. Must try to think of some intelligent question though.

LOL at Chris! "You can ask any question" <sudden fear that Mners will ask him the size of his equipment> "Any question within reason". Sorry, but that made me lol grin

Oh Chris, I wish you would answer my question as the Fonz completely ignored me last week. Please Chris, you made me so happy with your off the wall comments on Doodle Do in the days when I watched it (the children could never understand why Mum was so keen to watch the same episode twice in one day!) I would like to ask you if you ever had ambitions to be a singer as your Elvis impersonation was one I will never forget.

Oh and which is your favourite Doodle-doer, go on admit it is Stick and the other 2 are just a nuisance you have to put up with. And is Stick gay and how do you feel about having him crawl up your leg?

I was convinced he ad-libbed the script depending on what the spiders had to say - I always felt cheated when they only showed a cut-down of a programme to fill five minutes or so - and I too enjoyed his Elvis impression. My DH thought I was completely off my rocker!

I doubt he's going to get many sensible nutritional questions asked of him - MN will have to have virtual security and a firewall to block rude words!

I would crawl up his leg grin

he's top of my list of childrens tv presenters i'd doodle-do, i must say. very funny guy.

chris, do you think that rob brydon's a bit of a whinge, really? he's very funny and a snappy dresser but you were like, his nan or something on that Welsh programme. he should give you a job on his next thing, you were very sweet and kind to him (despite the fact that some people might have wanted you to shake him strongly by the lapels and tell him to get over it, he's WELSH and should be proud).

anyway, yes. more grown-up comedy for you? if you don't do it now you might have to do a Kristen and threaten to get your top off.

Phew notwavingjustironing, I thought for a moment after I had posted my question that I had dreamt his Elvis impersonation. Glad to know someone else remembers it too! Or do we share the same warped minds?

very possibly, but I'd like to think we were in good company wink

Aitch

"off, off, off"

AitchTwoOh Wed 08-Jul-09 11:09:21

OMG!!! gringringringrin

totalmisfit Wed 08-Jul-09 21:04:38

i don't get it, he just seems really bored and impatient all the time (my dd 3 yr old loves ya though, Chris, and she wouldn't let me get away with saying such a thing)

morningpaper Wed 08-Jul-09 21:06:06

AHA this is the thread I was looking for

<settles down in armchair>

Let me just get my notes...

morningpaper Wed 08-Jul-09 21:18:33

<shuffles notes>

1. Are you gay? This is important. Lie if necessary.
2. Do you have a girlfriend?
3. Are you interested at all in slightly portly middle-aged women who look a bit like Ronnie Corbett but with yellow hair? (I would prefer a lie here too if needed)
4. OK CHILDREN and CRAFT. This is a funny sort of specialist subject for a stand-up comedian. Can you tell me a bit about the day when some chappie or other came up to you and said: "Look, we've got this great idea for a programme, where you live in this house and there are spiders in the attic that do craft activities for children and you go into the attic and play crafts with the spiders". Did you go hmm?
5. Do you like children?
6. Do you like craft?
7. Mixing children and craft is HORRIBLE. Have you ever really actually tried this without another grown-up clearing up after you?
8. Stand-up comedians and children's television. Like that Miles Jupp. It seems like a terribly dangerous mix. Don't you find yourself about to make nasty anal sex gags and then realise that your front row is 8 years old and expecting something with a paper plate and wool?
9. Who wrote your Wiki entry? <stern glare>
10. Do you have any idea how tight your trousers appear on that programme? Is there any reason for that or is it just to torture depressed mothers with the thought of your monstrous phallus?

I think that is enough questions for now

I may think of some craft or vitamin related questions later on

Macdog Wed 08-Jul-09 21:19:10

gringringrin

<<Immediately cancels all appointments for Friday>>

Must run off and think of some pervy sensible questions for the mighty god of making

morningpaper Wed 08-Jul-09 21:23:27

oh wait

11. I noticed on your facebook page that you have a picture of the entire Doodle Do crew who appear to be on some sort of mountaineering jaunt on the top of a mountain. The programme is surely filmed in some sort of student flat in Epping and does not really need global trekking. What was that about then?

squeaver Wed 08-Jul-09 21:26:28

Bugger, not around then.

Here's my question: is Stick gay? Or just very effete?

And what mp asked.

And, btw, yes you are in the premier league of MN heart-throbs, but you're no Henry Winkler so don't go getting above yourself.

squeaver Wed 08-Jul-09 21:27:27

Oh, and what Aitch said, especially the Rob Brydon bit.
