AIBU to ask DH to wear underpants?

Ever since we've lived together my DH has always enjoyed relaxing around the house with just a t-shirt on and no under garments. We jokingly refer to it as 'Donald Ducking'. Now that we've had a baby (six weeks ago today!) I think it's time he started wearing under crackers around the house. It just seems more appropriate. AIBU to ask this of him?

Does he sit down on your furniture with his bare arse?
Think of the crumbs!! shock envy <boak>

We've had this before haven't we?

Don't think the bay makes a difference. I was always (and still often am) naked around the DC.

I would massively object to his bare arse and balls being on my furniture, in my line of sight all the time or touching things that I or baby may unwittingly come into contact with.

WHY is he sitting around with his cock out? So grim, made worse by the nickname imo.

Why a t-shirt? I don't understand.

Also a six week old baby doesn't really notice whether Dads frank n beans are displayed or otherwise.

Do you have a white couch like Charlotte in SATC? Does he leave teabags everywhere?

I would not like it at all.

I bet he looks ridiculous, I'm amazed you made a baby op grin

Yes, I think YABabitU but you have a 6 week old baby (Congratulations! thanks) and therefore technically not able to be unreasonable smile

Not sure of the relevance of the baby. But yes. Pants.

MrsTerryP - I'm also baffled by the need for the t-shirt.

Poo crumbs

Smeg crumbs

Arse hair

Do you mean no clothes at all on his bottom half rather than just no underwear, if so YANBU, don't know why having a baby would make a difference though because sitting around bare arsed with his meat and two veg out is just not nice.
If you just mean underwear then I can't see what the problem is, again can't see why the baby is relevant.

Blimey, if I wanted to wander round in the nude in my own house I would! Not sure what having a baby has to do with things...

combust22 Wed 03-Sep-14 22:26:21

Grim.

Especially if you have washed guys dirty underpants.
All the stuff that underpants normally absorb will end up on your furniture- and even the cleanest guy has effluent coming from his undercarriage- drops of urine after the loo, sweat from his balls and crackpit. Jobbie juice when he farts, the odd bit of follow through.
Nice that you, your guests and baby have to sit on a sofa which is absorbing all this nice stuff.

Basically he is using your lounge and sofa as a big pair of pants. Lovely.

Oh dear! I have an image of a toddler on beach.

JuniorMumber Wed 03-Sep-14 22:29:26

I think the issue is rather that I'd like him to stop doing it - and having the baby seems like a good time to reassess and reevaluate our domestic habits. Plus, it does look ridiculous, especially at a time when I'm trying to coax back post partum libido.

combust my dh can be utterly gross but def not in the league of your acquaintances. No normal person can possibly be that gross! Nudity is reasonably normal but it generally goes together with reasonable body hygiene.

I broached the subject when he first got comfortable enough to start doing it in the flat after we got together. I tried to embarrass him into wearing pants by laughing at him, but he wasn't phased. He says this is how he has always relaxed in the evening.

^^

This has made me cry laughing

combust22 Wed 03-Sep-14 22:36:36

jane- you think that even the cleanest of guys could wear the same pair of pants for a month and they will be fragrant? I can guarantee they would not. Nothing to do with the men I know but the OPs Oh is using her sofa as a pair of pants. Even with scrupulous hygiene there will be soiling.

MrsWinnibago Wed 03-Sep-14 22:36:56

I wouldn't like it. That's not a good look on a man.

combust22 Wed 03-Sep-14 22:37:57

Jane I take it your OH is so clean he never has to change his pants then? And if he does- why does he?

I hope I don't know you and haven't sat on your couch
