Welcome all- old and new- this is our fifty-something Healthy Eating thread, where we chat, support each other's ascent into vibrant slinkiness full of bright eyes and glorious glowing skin etc etc...

Post as much as you can, and you'll be sure to catch the gossip and the gamut of human emotion that make up the Shiney threads. They have grown from one woman's noble quest to ditch curly-wurlies for breakfast into a veritable Mumsnet phenomenon, which has actually seen some of us lose rather a lot of weight and get much healthier...

Not me- I am still trying to get there, and have a permanent cold, but hey, let's not split hairs: there are other regulars who are a positive inspiration! So jump in and find us again, or join us anew, and follow whatever approach suits you.

Oooh I love a bit of quiche!! grin

I am bella, have about 8 pounds or so to lose now. Slowly but surely coming off.

FiveGoMadInDorset Sat 20-Mar-10 19:38:48

Evening all, what a miserable day, but DC's now in bed, have offered them on FB if anyone interested, and just about to cook DH supper.

I am Fanny, I weigh too much but have managed to lose 20.5 lbs.

A shiney and new thread. Got to do something about that

<rummages in cupboard, fishes jar out and releases the contents of jar to crawl over thread>

<runs away giggling>

<Returns with a suspect looking bottle, gas mask and disapears again very quickly>

How many points in a quiche?

limitedname Sat 20-Mar-10 19:45:13

too many DIBs

YanknCock Sat 20-Mar-10 19:50:28

Yay.....new thread, and I'm actually here for the start! I seem to not find them until we're 100 posts in!

I'm Yank, I've lost 12lbs since joining this quiche full time in mid-November, and I've got 6st 5lbs to go to reach my goal. I am doing WW online and need to be prodded to post my points as it seems to be the only way to keep me honest.

Sounds good and balanced Shiney.

I have eaten to much crap and picked.

Bella - how was the jam making? Edie managed to go riding and we toos Basil as well but all he did was whinge and say up, so we sat him on a pony and then he woudln't get off. Need to get a proper job soon if he is going to take up riding aswell. The weather was miserable and they just were too lively this afternoon, never mind.

Today, I have been mostly eating:

Pineapple & low-fat yoghurt

Alpen cereal bar

Steak with rocket salad & low-fat dressing

1/2 pint milk

Leaves me with 10.5 points...

...so a bottle and a half of wine, then grin

VinegarPatronSTofTits Sat 20-Mar-10 20:04:16

Hello i am Vinny and i am looking to buy a new car

ATM I lose more in £'s than i do in lbs, through dodgy dealings with crooked mechanics hmm

Hoping all that will change and the wieght will start to fall off once i join WW, which will be soon, maybe sometime next week year

RougeBinDippers Sat 20-Mar-10 20:06:50

Like the new car.

bellavita Sat 20-Mar-10 20:06:53

Jam making going ok Fanny. We needed to do something with the glut of apples we still have and all the blackberries in the freezer. There is only so many blackberry oat bars you can make along with apple pies/crumbles and apple sauce for roast pork << starts to get bored >>

FiveGoMadInDorset Sat 20-Mar-10 20:07:03

Oh and DD got into first choice school, there must have been a babyboom around here as all 3 local schools are full which is unheard of.

BethAndHerBrood Sat 20-Mar-10 20:07:52

Hi, can I join in?? I need all the help I can get in the weight loss department. I do SW, but don't go to classes. I have lost 7lbs in the last 2 months-ish, although I have stayed the same for about 3 weeks now.

It may be the trifle blush

<<<Hi yank, how's little'un?>>>

bellavita Sat 20-Mar-10 20:08:54

Shiney, does he live local to you?

I have just indulged in an M&S count on you choc dessert - it said on the lid it was 2.5 points.

hellsbelles Sat 20-Mar-10 20:10:37

great news five!

blackberry crumble...yum!

FiveGoMadInDorset Sat 20-Mar-10 20:11:35

Oh I love blackberry crumble, well basically all crumble, apple and raspberry is nice.

Goober Sat 20-Mar-10 20:16:19

Well hellair.

I'm Goober. Quiche is a thing of the past for me, all that pastry! Tis poison.

I have lost 17lbs and need to lose a few more before holidaying in May.

Today I have been terribly good, even though it is Saturday and I was sorely tempted.....see???

My coat now has 2 big saggy bits at the sides which I used to not only fill but it was so tight that it used to ruck up.

Apparently there is a cardio class tomorrow morning with my name on it.

Bella, are you home yet? What did you buy today? More to the point, what did you buy me? grin
