New thread to record our workouts, track our goals, and keep us motivated. All welcome!

Thanks for the new thread, roonetta! No exercise yesterday as I was visiting family and there was nowhere to put down a yoga mat. Yoga day 26 done once we got home tonight.

Well done on 75 spins, Pelo!

Days exercised 130.

SophieLion · 26/08/2022 16:50

Hello all! Back home in athens and found this new thread - thank you Roonetta. Shame we lost oubliette along the way - she always used to start these thread.

5km interval run and some abs for me today.

Days exercised 156

SophieLion · 27/08/2022 10:23

Girvan's unilateral week day 1 (legs). This was 50 mins and all lunges. Very repetitive and very boring but probably did my legs good!

Days exercised 157

ILikeHotWaterBottles · 27/08/2022 11:36

I've done barely anything this week. Went to the gym once on Monday and that's been it. My family have been up and had no time, and now I may have been in contact with someone who might have had COVID, so I haven't gone to the gym out of worry of spreading it if I have it. Might take a test tonight though and if negative go anyway when it's quieter.

I have started going to a physio too to help my back pain, so far the exercises seem to be just making it worse.

PeloAddict · 27/08/2022 14:19

30 min ride done with a 10 min hamstring yoga flow
I was sore and stiff and didn't want to do it but I did

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 27/08/2022 23:23

Yoga day 27 done. I didn’t want to do it either, Pelo. (Not that I ever do, really.) At least it wasn’t 50 minutes of lunges!

Hope you’re OK, HotWaterBottles.

Days exercised 131.

SophieLion · 28/08/2022 09:11

Hope you don't catch covid hotwaterbottles.

My legs are so sore today after all those lunges... will have to do some extra stretches today.

just did unilateral day 2 arms and shoulders.

Days exercised 158

CrimsonAlligator · 28/08/2022 10:47

I’d like to join you! I’m currently training for a 10k rowing “race”. It’s not really a race as such. Just me, in my garage, trying to set a half decent time 😁

I’ve also recently started couch 2 5k, but plan to go through that really slowly, as I don’t want to add a huge amount of extra exercise on top of my rowing plan.

Today’s exercise was 2x 6km steady row. It felt much harder than normal. I blame yesterday’s run for that

ILikeHotWaterBottles · 28/08/2022 11:11

I'm still good, my mum is still sick though so think it probably is COVID that she has. 😔Going to take a test today though and if negative go to the gym tonight. Couldn't be bothered last night, we had a day of doing literally nothing.

PeloAddict · 28/08/2022 11:43

I'm off for another covid vaccine today, number 5
Will bike later depending how I feel as I'm starting a bike challenge and wanting to get ahead!

It's basically every week
PZ endurance (zones 2-3) 30 mins
PZ (zones 3-5) 30 mins
PZ endurance again 45 mins

Accelerator ride (anything over 30 mins) and you have to do a post ride stretch after every ride

PeloAddict · 28/08/2022 16:37

30 min PZE and stretch done

roonetta · 28/08/2022 17:49

Welcome back Sophie. I channeled my inner oubliette when creating the thread by copying her title and also the thread description Wink. I miss her posts. Hope your legs are feeling better - wow 50 minutes of lunges!!

Welcome @CrimsonAlligator. Love the sound of the rowing race.

Sorry to hear about your mum Waterbottles. Hope she feels better soon and you don't end up getting it Flowers

Just reading your posts make me feel tired Pelo! I haven't done anything the last couple of days and absolutely no excuse for it, just pure laziness. I'll get back at it tomorrow.

SophieLion · 28/08/2022 20:06

Hello crimson alligator! Welcome to the thread! The rowing race does indeed sound very cool.

My legs are still killing me roonetta . Sitting down, standing up and walking upstairs is painful. So annoying to get this every time I don't exercise for a while. Hope you manage a workout tomorrow.

Get well soon to your mum hotwaterbottles and fingers crossed for you too.

What is the difference between the biking spines pelo? Hope you feel ok after your vaccine

PeloAddict · 28/08/2022 20:20

@SophieLion here. FTP test is as hard as you can go, for 20 mins continuously

ILikeHotWaterBottles · 28/08/2022 22:19

Good luck crimson 😄Hope you don't feel ill after your vaccine pelo

Thanks sophie and roonetta. We think we know what it is now hopefully, not COVID at least, but possibly an infection of some sort. I haven't got it and nor has anyone else that has come into contact with her, which seems unlikely.

I was negative on my test in any case and went to the gym. Started my new gym plan with a gradual increase over the weeks so that I actually see an improvement, as I have just been doing the same things over and over again. Never going to see improvement with that! 😂

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 28/08/2022 23:03

Yoga day 28 done. So restful I probably shouldn’t count it, but I’m going to anyway. Decided I’m going to start the 30DS again next weekend but try to keep the yoga going.

Welcome CrimsonAlligator!

Hope your mum is better soon, HotWaterBottles. And good luck with the new gym plan.

Days exercised 132.

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 29/08/2022 10:43

Yoga day 29 done. Tougher than yesterday, and I did some stretches with the foam roller afterwards. Does anyone else find their shoulders are seizing up as they get older? I think it's to do with the amount of typing I do.

Days exercised 133.

PeloAddict · 29/08/2022 13:06

I ended up not having my vaccine! The updated one is coming in 2-3 weeks so they said I was best waiting

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 29/08/2022 17:50

Hello CrimsonAlligator 👋

Hope your mum is feeling better, hotwaterbottles. After all my shoulder drama, Professor, I highly recommend making sure your posture at your desk is right and you take regular stretch breaks. I find knitting is my posture nemesis now, I need to work on it.

I had an <ahem> gastric upset over the weekend days so didn't risk moving far from the loo couch. I took the kids for a last hurrah to the pool this afternoon and I managed 200m which felt harder than it should.

Days exercised 114 (I think. I meant to check the old thread but posted here first!)

CrimsonAlligator · 29/08/2022 20:08

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone ☺️

@ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson I don’t know if it’s an age thing, but I’ve definitely found that my shoulders are becoming more of a weak spot. A few years ago, I actually managed to give myself a shoulder injury by carrying around an almost empty carrier bag for a few hours...Safe to say, I don’t have a naturally strong upper body!

Today’s workout: 4 x 2 km row at 90% MHR. Not an experience I’m keen to repeat, but I’m sure it will pop again sometime in my training program. Hopefully not too soon 😄

roonetta · 30/08/2022 08:06

Have you found the yoga helpful Professor? I do it occasionally but I am so stiff and find it uncomfortable so give up. My job also involves sitting at a computer and my neck and shoulders are very stiff. I don't think it helps spending the rest of my time staring at my phone or iPad Blush. I might try reducing the time spent looking down at my devices and replace it with yoga.

Despite my best intentions, I did nothing again yesterday. Something about my DH being at home makes me not exercise, I have no idea why Hmm

Got my butt moving today - 30DS L1 D? (can't remember what day and it's on the last thread)

Days exercised 131??

Unilateral week day 3 (full body callisthenics).

Days exercised 159

CrimsonAlligator · 30/08/2022 10:22

Neck and shoulder yoga sounds interesting @roonetta . Think I need a bit of that too!

Today’s exercise: 8 x 1.5 minutes “power stroke”. With a long warm up, cool down and technique practice that came to 7.5 km in total.
