Thought I would start a new thread for us to continue our chat smile

Cheers, me, dears. See you there.

CruCru Sun 24-Aug-14 10:05:46

can you add a link, please CruCru?
Cheers?

CruCru Sat 23-Aug-14 23:21:14

Done! Thread number 3 is started.

CruCru Sat 23-Aug-14 23:15:40

Shall I start a new thread then?

CruCru Sat 23-Aug-14 23:12:41

I wear M&S socks - they are thin ones that are meant to have silver technology (?) to stop your feet stinking. Quite cheap though.

CruCru Sat 23-Aug-14 23:11:13

I am on Sertraline but am about to go onto a lower dose.

On Map my Run, one of the headings is Gear Tracker. So far I think it's just trainers.

I have just ordered two new armbands. Mine is a cheap Velcro job and when I flex my bicep, it pops off and when I straighten my arm, it falls off. I have quite bad neck and shoulder pain which I think is because I'm trying to hold my arm in position so my armband stays on. I'll let you know which is better - Ronhill or Nike.

KARRIMOR, not Karrinor. hmm

I can recommend 1000 Mile running socks. I currently have a Karrinor armband from Sports Direct, I'm saving up for an ArmPocket.

Hi enormouse smile, and well done Edwinia smile.

I just did W5R2, which was surprisingly fine. I wasn't looking forward to it, but in the end I felt well prepared due to the previous runs smile.

Does anyone use MapMyRun? Is there a way to switch it to km/hour instead of min/km? And is there somewhere about logging running gear / expected shoe life etc? I think there is, but I can't find it for the life of me.

Finally grin, can anyone recommend an armband iPhone holder? My running tights have a pocket in the back that can hold it, but it makes them fall down sometimes blush. Also, running socks - I had issues today as I might have shrunk my running socks. Can anyone recommend theirs?

enormouse Sat 23-Aug-14 20:17:42

I'm on fluoxetine Cru. Its made such a difference, actually gave me the boost to get out the door. I just wanted to hide indoors but now I'm getting antsy on rest days and cant wait to get out the door. I go to a local forest park down the road from me and its beautiful.

Did you take anything for it?

Hi all,

W5R1 done. Was a tough one as I'm feeling under the weather and my calfs really really didn't want to keep moving after the first run. This one most definitely took a huge amount of willpower.

Can I make an unrelated plea? Can someone start a new thread? I'm having huge issues loading this one since the mobile site upgrade because it is soooo long and pagination isn't working. We are nearly at the end anyway.

CruCru Sat 23-Aug-14 18:31:23

Hi enormouse!

It's nice to have you. PND is a bitch, I went completely mad just before Christmas and got diagnosed with PND and anxiety. Are you on any meds?

You WILL feel better. Well done for doing some exercise. One advantage is that it gets you vitamin D - I was a bit low when they tested me.

enormouse Sat 23-Aug-14 15:41:15

Hi <whispers> can I join? I've been lurking for about a week or so.

I'll be doing W2R2 tomorrow. I've been diagnosed with PND and anxiety and have started using C25K as a means of getting me out the house regularly. And getting fit again. So far it's going pretty well. I'm in awe of the people on week 5-9.

I'm enjoying the pace of week 2 compared to week 1 - feels less stop start.

WastingMyYoungYears Sat 23-Aug-14 14:39:30

Oh Cru, I'm jealous grin. You'll have to tell us what you think of it when it arrives.

CruCru Sat 23-Aug-14 14:11:21

Hi Five! Are you near a Runners Need or similar? It's probably worth having a gait analysis to see which trainers would suit you best.

FiveGoMadInDorset Sat 23-Aug-14 13:10:02

Hey Iggi, how are you?

Iggi999 Sat 23-Aug-14 12:51:51

Hi Five! Long time no see grin
I would suggest moving on, I got a massive high from getting through each stage, I haven't repeated any so far (start of week 7 now).
BUT wait and hear advice from the experts, I know some people have repeated and found it useful.

FiveGoMadInDorset Sat 23-Aug-14 12:41:19

Well that us week 2 out if the way. Didn't enjoy today, struggled with the fifth run and my heart wasn't in it today hmm

Dithering as to whether to rerun it in Monday or to attempt week 3 and see how I get on?

Also while in shopping mood what trainers can you recommend, I am flat footed and need some with some bounce if you know what I mean

Iggi999 Sat 23-Aug-14 12:21:10

I suppose the more money you spend on running stuff, the more committed you will feel to keep going!
Bit worried I will be expected to do all-running in week 7 onwards, I liked the walking bits!

CruCru Sat 23-Aug-14 07:32:54

Ah, I appear to have ordered it. Shopping on your phone is dangerous.

CruCru Fri 22-Aug-14 21:35:20

Well done iggi!

Wasting - I was thinking of pink, mainly because I am not very pink in my day to day stuff and I want a nice bright colour that cars can spot. Perhaps I'll put it on my Christmas list or perhaps I'll buy it.

lovelidl Fri 22-Aug-14 21:08:57

Everyone is doing so well! Isn't it funny how quickly it changes you, I never, ever thought I could run. So glad I started this.

I bought a jacket almost identical to try Nike link in <whispers> Primark. It is black and pink, is super light weight yet keeps the rain out and is good in the wind and cost something ridiculous like £4 grin

We are going to Florida in a couple of weeks so hoping for some running bargains there.

spookyskeleton Fri 22-Aug-14 20:50:36

iggi well done, great achievement smile

WastingMyYoungYears Fri 22-Aug-14 19:07:13

Cru, that running jacket looks amazing confused, I want one too now. What colour are you thinking of?
