Marking place (prednisolone insomnia)

bakingtins · 25/12/2013 18:51

And me. Happy Christmas everyone!

MrsPixieMoo · 26/12/2013 06:27

Since yesterday, I've been vomiting all day and through the night. Can't keep anything down. I'm six weeks and had bad nausea with DD but no actual sickness. Is this prednisolone do you think, or a good sign?

I'm feeling so emotional and anxious, scared something's wrong.

bakingtins · 26/12/2013 07:16

MrsP - sorry to hear you are feeling crappy. I think if anything pred made me less nauseous, though I appreciate everyone reacts differently. Do you think it's MS? Sure you haven't got a bug, there's a lot of winter vomiting going around.
Hope it is short lived, either way.

MrsPixieMoo · 26/12/2013 07:48

Thanks Baking. I don't think it's a bug as I feel well otherwise. I just feel constantly queasy as if I'm on a boat in a storm. Appreciate your thoughts.

VillageMum · 27/12/2013 14:46

Hello all! Frustrating last few days as I couldn't log onto the site for some reason. Mumsnet withdrawal symptoms were beginning to kick in!

Thanks team for the new thread!

Mrs Pixie, really sorry to hear you're feeling so poorly. I've just had the norovirus, vomited round the clock for a day but never had a temperature at all. If it's a vomiting bug it should resolve within 48 hours or so. Could it just be really bad pregnancy nausea? I do hope you're feeling a bit better today x

brown how are the lines?

I'm up and running again. AF started as soon as vomiting virus left the system (nice timing) so am officially back on next SO cycle. It's certainly efficient, this SO business - no sooner have you got over the sadness of not being pg than you're popping letrozole again and getting all hopeful.

Hope everyone is well xx

teamdozie · 27/12/2013 21:35

Hi everyone hope you all had a great christmas! Village glad you are feeling better!

I just have a quick one! The other week I was talking about what Dr S regarding my lining. Well today I got a letter telling me it was 6mm. In his letter I also read that one follicle was 25mm and the other two 15mm. So I suppose that would explain the pain I was having?

I've read a few things google! (God forgive me) and I suppose it's all relative? Some Drs saying 6 is ok some saying that 25mm is too big!

Guess I'll have to wait and see! But I do wish he would say these things to me then and there! I panic when I read things!

Waves to everyone xx

Hunting for the thread to wish everyone a (belated) happy Christmas and a very good and successful New Year.

teamdozie · 29/12/2013 11:42

Morning everyone! I hope you all had a lovely Xmas!

Luna how are you?

Much to my surprise this morning I got a BFP! Xmas Shock.
I'm so aprehensive about the whole thing I don't know how to feel! I'll be calling for my IVIG tomorrow so here we go again!

Waves to everyone and I wish you all a happy new year!

Found you all.
Team, told you that was thick enough! Whispered congrats!
Maybe you already had a dominant follicle from the previous cycle which would explain why it was so big. Apparently that can happen if you have a short follicular phase in the previous cycle, Serum told me.
My pregnancy is failing; lines almost non-existent today. Threw my rows and rows and tests in the bin this morning. Anyone know if you have to taper after just over 2 weeks on the pred?
Happy New Year All!

brownstag · 29/12/2013 13:01

Just after spending £40 on pred and a whole pregnancy's worth of Pregnacare yesterday of course. The kiss of death!

ItsIgginningToLookALotLikeXmas · 29/12/2013 15:20

Brownstag I am really sorry to see your post. I do t know the background to this pregnancy, so will not try to say it might just be the tests etc - we all know our bodies pretty well by this stage! But I do hope for a miracle for you x I don't think tapering would be required for two weeks as normally on it for almost that length when no Bfp.

Happy to see your news Team and all the best for a bit of good luck!

brownstag · 29/12/2013 15:43

That's true, of course, thanks Igginning. This was a natural cycle with pred from 4dpo. And have been taking DHEA and l-arginine. This is my 3rd pregnancy (one on superov) this year, aged nearly 43, after 2.5 years of infertility. I have one DS, aged nearly 5, who was a pred baby.
I think I'll be doing some more superov as soon as my body is back to normal. As you say, Village, after the disappointment you just pick yourself up and start another cycle with hope again. Good luck with yours, and everyone else.
MrsPixie, I think it sounds like a bug, and in fact some friends of mine had a bug over Christmas where they felt fine but had sickness and diarrhoea. I always find the pred stops pregnancy sickness completely.

MrsPixieMoo · 29/12/2013 16:57

Team congratulations on your BFP. Good luck for the weeks ahead.

Luna how are you? Was your Christmas ok? Are you still in such bad pain physically? I've been thinking of you.

Hello Village, glad you got back online.

Oh Brown, I was so shocked and sad to read your news. You're right, it does seem to be typical that these miserable losses happen just when we gear up for things to go well, eg stocking up on pred and vitamins. Very good to hear you sounding hopeful. Hang on to that and thanks for all your support on here recently.

Free, how are you? Guessing you have been away for Christmas?

I'm still having nausea for most of the day and am sick if I eat a normal sized meal, so am living off smallish snacks and then lying down, which seems to stop me being sick. Certain smells eg coffee, which I usually love, are also enough to make me sick. So quite possibly a bug, or maybe this is how I react to pred? I went off coffee when pregnant with my DD, but not with any miscarriages. Fingers crossed. Am also shattered, have been sleeping up to six hours in the day. DH has been a star with DD. So glad to have a few days off work.

Waves to all.

teamdozie · 29/12/2013 19:02

Oh no brown I'm sorry to hear your news! It's so crap! What dosage of prednisolone are you on!? Maybe if it's high then taper?
I do thank you for your wishes! This is pregnancy no7 and I'm praying that the IVIG helps!
itsi thank you! Hope all is well with you!

Team that is fab news. You're got past the first hurdle! Take it easy and best of luck with the IVIG. It is great that you are trying something new; may this be the one! x

MrsPixie so sorry to hear you're still poorly. If you're not vomiting regularly now that must be good though... it could be a bug but it doesn't sound typical of the norovirus. Sounds more like pregnancy nausea: the sensitivity to smell, inability to eat normal sized meals, and the fact that it improves when you are lying down/rested. Also, it began around 6 weeks, didn't it? Classic pg nausea kicks in then, peaks around week 9, and then tapers off slowly till week 12 to 14. Really wish you well.

Brown I'm so sorry the lines are going. Will you do SO in the next cycle do you think? Hope all goes back to normal for you quickly.

Hi Iggi

I'm trying to stay positive about SO and to believe that this cycle might be the lucky one!

Waves to everyone.

Thanks Village I'm in slight denyal at the moment and trying not to think about it! I'm so scared I feel it's only way to protect myself!!

It won't be long before you will be in the 2ww now will it!?

Let's hope the IVIG works!

Xx

OP posts:
VillageMum · 30/12/2013 21:20

Hi Team, alas, I'm only on CD5 today! The 2ww is still some way away... follicle scan next Monday. I can totally appreciate your fear, but remember that you are doing everything you can! Just take it one day and then one scan at a time x

MrsPixieMoo · 31/12/2013 05:09

Hi Village, thank you. It did start at six weeks, although much better these last 24 hours. Tiredness and waking early from pred now, but am starting to feel optimistic. All the best to you on your countdown to the 2ww.

What you say makes sense Team. Totally understand the self protection. When is your IVIG? As Village says, one scan at a time.

Happy New Year to all xx
