We're ttc #2 in dec and I know it's a really silly thing to get excited about, but just started taking folic acid and feeling very excited about it!

Sorry for the pointless thread.

Ditto to moominlike-re the wine and chocs!!

I'm not using any temp charts or anything ATM. I think if I was trying for 6 months with nothing I would consider it but in the meantime no! I did put my hubby on the wellman contraception tablets tho!!!
And I have also bought some pregnancy tests to keep spare if I really have the urge to do one!! (A test that is!!!!!)
I've got to do a test on the 10th of May before I go to the hospital for my epilepsy so I've got my fingers, toes, legs, arms and hairs crossed for a BFP but I don't think it's gunna happen!!! Xxx

MissFredi Tue 23-Apr-13 21:19:00

It is my first yeah! And the bag is so so gorgeous grin

johnandkymberley Tue 23-Apr-13 22:50:48

Omg I'm jel!! Do you think it's too early for me to buy one.......?!

moominlike Thu 25-Apr-13 07:46:17

Sounds like you're well prepared! I thought I'd make a note of my cycle to start with but that's all to start with. Only 2 pills left in the pack, I keep thinking I must sort out my repeat prescription... nope not this time! Strange feeling!

johnandkymberley Thu 25-Apr-13 09:24:33

I am trying to do that now-with my cycle but not very successfully!!! We are at the minute just doing the birds and bees and hoping for a BFP!!
Are you officially starting com Saturday then?? Xxxx

winterpansy Thu 25-Apr-13 09:45:17

Just popping back to let the original wait-ers know I got a bfp yesterday! I really appreciated all the support and chat when I joined this thread back in Oct so thank you for keeping me sane and I hope you all get bfps when you're ready x

johnandkymberley Thu 25-Apr-13 11:02:44

Whooo congrats winter pansy xxxx

Leafmould Thu 25-Apr-13 17:01:24

Wow, winter pansy, that is wonderful news, and it is great that you are where you are now, given the tough time you had in the winter.... Congratulations, and do tell us your edd so we can put you on the list!

moominlike Thu 25-Apr-13 17:56:51

Congratulations winterpansy fantastic news!! grin

From Sunday Kimberley although not sure it counts until after the first AF lol

MissFredi Thu 25-Apr-13 20:34:08

That's brilliant news grin

And it's never to early to buy a new bagwink

johnandkymberley Thu 25-Apr-13 21:25:55

Miss fredi - you are so right!!! Who's need an excuse for a new bag?

Moominlike - the countdown is on!! I did think about that when my implant was taken out but I read online you can get pregnant on your period. So maybe it might happen?
When the implant was taken out the doc said my fertility was back to normal instantly. She also said if we had had sex running up to the implant being out some sperm may still be 'in there' so could get pregnant that way. How long will it take after you've come off the pill? I've never been on the pill xxxx

winterpansy Fri 26-Apr-13 10:20:06

Thanks everyone smile!

leaf Thanks so much. Yes, things have really turned around in the last 6 months. Can't quite believe it yet. All being well edd is early Jan (I think!). I'm only 3+6 today going on ov date so there is a long way to go...
You doing OK?

Leafmould Fri 26-Apr-13 14:11:47

Hi winter pansy, it is so exciting! Well done for overcoming all the work stress and getting to where you wanted to be.

How is the new job by the way? I hope your colleagues are lovely.

I have put myself in the 'indefinate' section of the list, as I now know May is unrealistic. We are seeing what our finances are doing, working on our relationship, and trying not to allow the tick tock of the 2nd half of the thirties push us into a more stressful situation when we can see ourselves managing.

I am a bit sad about it but I know it is right....

Please please give us progress updates to keep us feeling like we can follow in your footsteps.... Deal with adversity and get to where we want to be..

Have you heard from Bridget and the hairy brigands lately?

winterpansy Sat 27-Apr-13 12:55:14

Aw, thanks! New job is ace. I only really have 1 colleague and she is lovely. She has 4 children herself (and a farm!) and is really funny and kind so it's all working out well. It's hard to believe I was so, so miserable 6 months ago.

Sorry to hear things are on hold for a bit but at least you feel it's the right thing to do, even though it is sad. When the time is right things will fall in to place. I'm proof of that!

Will keep you posted on how it's going. Only officially 4 weeks today so there is quite a bit to go. I need to make an appointment for doc soon though as I had gestational diabetes last time so they will want to monitor me asap. Bit scared as my bmi is the same as last time and they told me to lose at least 2 stone before ttc. I have failed miserably at that!

Haven't seen Bridget in a while. Hope she's OK.

Enjoy your weekend x

moominlike Sat 27-Apr-13 14:08:42

All sounds very positive smile

Not sure tbh kimberley, I've heard some horror stories about it taking forever for your cycle to return but lots of people get pregnant straight away so I think it just depends on the individual! Some say you have a fertility boost straight after coming off it but that might just be anecdotal

MissFredi Sun 28-Apr-13 15:33:29

Last pill tonightgrin

Who's nervous? I'm not nervous. Not at all. Nooooconfused

moominlike Sun 28-Apr-13 17:57:23

Mine was yesterday, felt very odd throwing the empty pack away and not getting a new one out! And even odder not taking one today! I must admit I do feel a bit out of sorts today, maybe the contraception comedown lol

Exciting times eh grin

MissFredi Sun 28-Apr-13 19:44:59

I have kind of a buzz knowing I no longer have to have a glass of water every night before bedtime. Though this will probably morph into a can of diet coke every nightwink

moominlike Sun 28-Apr-13 23:34:14

With a folic acid tablet instead smile

MissFredi Mon 29-Apr-13 12:01:17

And breakfast biscuits for nausea! Is it normal for it to make you nauseous?

moominlike Mon 29-Apr-13 18:01:33

The folic acid?

MissFredi Mon 29-Apr-13 21:36:01

Yeah. I have with my first coffee but its definitely not the coffee doing it confused

moominlike Mon 29-Apr-13 23:50:32

Haven't felt nauseous with them but it does say take them with a cold drink and on a full stomach so could be why?

MissFredi Tue 30-Apr-13 08:33:52

That's probably why then. I'll take this opportunity to be drinking more water. At least then the coffee will last longergrin

BourbonsAndTea Tue 30-Apr-13 09:38:30

Congratulations Winterpansy and any other Previous Waiters who may have got their BFP's!!
