Be wary opf tents on Ebay that you don't know- we got our Gelert on there, but some of the genuine brands are American and subject to far les stringent criteria than Uk ones (so I am told).

Go on to UK campsite.com, and do a search of their message boards- maybe post on the tents thread. You'll get a review there I would have thought, they know everything Wink

It seems to tick all the boxes as far as hh goes, but I'd echo peachy, be wary, the tent you get may be different and usually if the price is too good to be true then it is!

What are you looking for in terms of a tent? Can we help you look? Grin please Grin

Shame you're not based round here- went in to a caming shop u Newport today, small place- sleeping bags etc. Was it heck! Round back had an extension- tents up, even a sunncamp mondial!! And they were really well priced, a three pod-der for under £100!

Sorry disappeared, internet down! Thanks for replies. The reason I checked was it seemed to good to be true. I need 3 bedrooms for DH and I plus the 4DC's. I really wanted one just like that, not one with bedrooms that stick out. Any help in the hunt really welcome!!

Oooh

thank you

you have made our sad little lives happy Grin

Satellite by Gelert (doesn't really stick out)

will be back with more

beware of HUGE tents unless you're OK with increased pitch fee, more and more are getting funny (was turned away with my Tahoma last week when I enquired and that's not huge- well not very huge)

Okeydokey:

will look more, but a few options that would work for you but are outside the box (ie everything in my Gelert catalogue designed for your size of family)Actually- check out Alaska below- would suit you, hadn't seen this one

Vancouver 4+4 (has a central room that could also be used as a bedroom)

quebec (same set up as above)- supposed to be a fabulous tent. not my shape but have seen it up and structurally / design wise it is A1

Utah 8 person- LOVE this tent!! Only 2 rooms, but the whole thing opens up like a Gazebo. never seen one up, but would be sorely tempted if I did

Alaska- A FOUR podder- would suit you to a tee.

\link{http://www.newtents.co.uk/tents/terranova/8person/Terra_Nove_Cosmos_Tent.htm\ here is my wildcard- wow}

\link{http://www.outdoormegastore.co.uk/acatalog/Outdoor_Megastore_9__Berth_Tents_293.html\ outwell montana or vario 9}

Need any more?

Aztec do one (they're relatively cheap) that would suit but ic an't find it- saw it at shop yesterday. If you've not decided by weekend, going back to shop so will find out the name.
A big dome with pods inside.

if you could bear the sticky out bits then you'd have more optioons TBH

How about an \link{http://www.outwell.co.uk/\Outwell Indiana 8} There is a huge bedroom at the back that is divided by a zippy curtain thing and a smaller bedroom that would be fine for you and DH. As it comes with the porch you can cook outside and still have a side entrance to get in and out.

Or if you really want to blow the budget how about a \link{http://www.vango.co.uk/\Vango Aspen 700DLX}

this link take you to the Vango site. You have to go into Family, then the Aspens and all the way to the bottom to see the 700DLX! You will get it cheaper than the RRP.

If the Outwell bedroom approach suits, then you have a world of Vario type styles availanble- easily available second hand on ebay.
Go for Gelert over Sunncamp was the opinion when we were considering one.

Vango Aspen- who was it said that they look like tubby mountain? has become a family tradition now Grin

I've just had a look at the ebay tent and it looks just like what we're looking for. We want 3 rooms. Anybody got any ideas where we can get one like this which is guarantted good quality and is about the same price? Yeah, I know I'm asking a lot. But, we won't be using it that often and we're skint. I live in hope...

There's a tent in the local shop (Newport) which is exactly what you need- not huge, but three pods and under a hundred. It looked fine, popped inside yesterday (sad addict? moi?. I didn't note the name, but I am going back in a few days- by Saturday at the latest- shall I find it out for you?

Just a trick as well- look on ebat fro last years colours / models; we got a £300 tent ro £190 with P&P by doing this.

Oh and the Argos Proaction tundra tents- the 6 person one is such good value for money! The only reason we parted with urs is that we used it a lot and needed space in excess. You can always add a Wilkinsons gazebo for day space.

Hi Peachyclair i typed you a reply earlier and when I came back just now I hadn't posted it!!
I can't decided whether to spend abit more as we hope to get loads of use out of it but I worry that we won't like actually tent camping. I think the big factor for us will be how long it takes to set up as we like to go for weekends.?? Any suggestions on that. On size as long as it fits the average pitch that would be good, but i need it to have 3 separate bedrooms that can be accessed without walking through other bedrooms.
Thanks for your help

pro action do a dome one for £139.99 (Argos page 109). we bought a pro action, then upgraded after we were sure we would get the use (with 4 trips already booked this year I think we will LOL!)

Have to say for value for money couldn't fault it. Totally waterproof, strong and was easy to put up (we had a different shape but this one is looking to be very quick indeed, from the shape)

not sure about the outwell- have you been to the Usk display though.........

ha ha ha ha ha

The Newport one is on Stowe Hill, I think its called something like Newport ca,mping or something equally imaginative. Fellow addicts, it's fab Grin. Go up by the Royal gwent and turn right at the lights. keep going on the road up the hill until you come to the junction at the end, bear left and it's up there on the right, drive into the petrol station- free parking behind.

The Usk garden Centre (at raglan) has a fabulous range of tents up, I think they have the outwell. They certainly had most you can think of (no gelerts but they did give us the brochure). yes! they even give free brochures......
