AIBU?

to ask if there is a chocolate bar which tastes like the old Cadbury Dairy Milk

I know, I know Dairy Milk was never the bastion of amazing chocolate if you're a fuss pot but I REALLY enjoyed the occasional bar of DM or Fruit & Nut.
They've changed it, filled it full of palm oil and it tastes like a bag of cat shit (sorry MN I know you work with them but they've ruined chocolate). I've searched high and low to find an alternative and nothing is the same.
All other milk chocolate (be it supermarket own, Milka, Lindt, whatever) it all tastes like cheap advent calendar chocolate.

I REALLY, REALLY miss Dairy Milk, it was such a smooth treat and now it is gone. And unless it's some kind of elaborate scam where they hide away the good stuff for a few years, pump out shite and then reissue the old stuff as "traditional" recipe at double the price, then I don't think we will see it again.

Is there anything the same or very, very similar? Please help. Chocolate

I like the Aldi version, which has cocoa butter rather than palm oil. I was never a fan of Dairy Milk, though. I do find that the Aldiilk chocolate tastes pleasant and has a nice melty texture unlike modern Dairy Milk.

God I used to eat so much cadburys but can't remember when I last bought a bar. I don't mind Lindt but usually go for maltesers instead but it's not the same.

Aldi is to out the way for me.

Co op own brand fair trade milk choc does the trick for me. Also green and blacks milk choc. Also Marks and Sparks milk choc!

DH reckons Sainsbury's own brand chocolate is the next best thing now that Cadburys has turned to shite. He likes the whole nut version.
I think all chocolate is rubbish nowadays so I'm no help. I still quite like a Double Decker occasionally because the chewy and crispy bits distract from the waxy bollocks chocolate.

Flake is the original recipe (and Irish).

You can still find old produce- look for 20% coco solids and the absence of palm oil. We have a dairy milk outlet/ seconds shop near us and its almost all old recipe still.

Irish Dairy Milk is still made to the old recipe in Ireland. Get yourself to the ethnic food aisle in sainsburys.

It's not a bar but Cadburys Pots of Joy (yoghurt type things) taste like real Cadburys and they're pre melted 😂.

I was about to say Irish dairy milk hasn't changed too. Every time I drive down south I spend about a tenner on dairy milk. The people in the filling stations always spot the northerners.

Freddo frogs are the only ones that haven't been ruined! They're still made in Ireland apparently X

Thanks for all of your recommendations. I'm in Ireland a lot but hadn't thought to look but seems you guys have the palm oil now too.

The difference is incredible. It tastes sickly, almost like cheap American chocolate like Herseys and the texture is oddly crumbly but with an oily slip to it. All wrong.

I'm so gutted, I'm obsessed with Cadburys and now I know why I haven't enjoyed it for ages. I thought i had overdone it finally. Right, planning a break in Ireland.

I think the Irish version is the same. It's still the old 8 square bar. Soon good. I stock up every time I am there.

Tesco's own brand fruit and nut is nice. It's in a purple wrapper.

Doesn't taste like Dairy Milk (as they are flavoured), but there's some really nice chocolate in Aldi Look for Choceur bars. I love the 'Coffee and Cream' one but they do lots of different flavours.
