Just that really.
Apologies if there is already a thread, I haven't seen it.

Erm, any clues, rather than expecting people to click on an unspecified link?

So no clues. Nope. Not clicking.

I won't click on the link. Either tell us what you want or return to fb.

Is this your post?

I get the distinct feeling that you've accidentally outed yourself with that link... I'd check it quick.

I clicked but the page isn't there

Boy with autism and water feature? Parents are upset but I'd have complained to head office and waited for a response before getting a lynch mob out.

Dramatic title, but no details in the OP? With the twats we have had recently, people won't click on it without more details.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 04/09/2016 16:08

It's a 20 hour old post that only one person has reacted too (presumably the OP), and a picture of the Range with "Do not Enter" written over it.

Op is this your Facebook page? Are you trying to ramp up speak outrage?

Oh, so it's one of those one-sided 'viral shaming' things that the mindless FB herd are so very fond of, is it? Hmm

Sorry. I've just read this, it's not my story but the family involved were looking at buying an item when their autistic non verbal child was touched/pushed by another customer before staff treated them like criminals and escorted them from the building.
The family is still waiting for a response from The Range.

What a total load of bollocks. Assuming it happened, the issue was the other customer kicking off. Even the person who posted wasn't actually there at the time.

The family is still waiting for a response from The Range

But in the meantime they decided a over-dramatic Facebook shaming strategy was the best way forward, eh?

Report
phillipp · 04/09/2016 16:12

So this was posted by someone who wasn't there?

Sounds like like bait to me.

What do you want people to say? I am confused as to why you have posted it?

Report
LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 04/09/2016 16:12

Were you there OP? Because there have been a shitload of these kind of things which have turned out to be utter bollocks or at least exaggerated.

The other customer was wrong but that isn't the fault of the shop FFS. Now what will happen is that millions of people will post shitty stuff on their FB page and it will all kick off until the actual truth comes out.

Report
opheliaamongthelillies · 04/09/2016 16:15

loada crock!

Report
littledrummergirl · 04/09/2016 16:18

I'm just surprised that the range haven't responded. It's not as if they operate mon-fri 9-5. If the families version is bollocks then you'd think they would have replied, even if just to say they were looking into it.
The tone strikes me as genuine and I was Shock.

They will have to check the cctv, then talk to the staff, then probably consult their legal people, then get someone to write and issue a statement which will have to be checked and double checked.

If it happened it's awful but why does everyone have to do the public shaming thing now. Especially before the shop have had a chance to respond.

Report
LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 04/09/2016 16:22

This kind of thing is ridiculous. Even if this is proven to be a crock of shite, there are plenty of people who will believe it still and start the boycotting/protesting bollocks. If you weren't there, then probably best not to get involved in a story which wasn't even posted by the person who allegedly suffered.

Report
LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 04/09/2016 16:23

And if you think the tone is genuine, then I think you may be slightly naive OP - it even sounds like a load of bollocks

Anyone who puts their complaint via facebook in the first insance, instead of writing to HO and awaiting a reply after enough time for the local management to look into the issue, is highly likely to be an attention seeking liar.

Complain by doing a facebook viral = desired outcome: attention from random people
Complain by email/letter to HO = desired outcome: improvement in service/ staff training/repair, refund or discount/apology.

He's gone the wrong way about making a complaint. Hate FB "share the outrage" stuff.

This is fairly local to me and I've seen it shared numerous times. I rolled my eyes and thought of the thread I started here last week about Viral Facebook shaming;

But all the "discussed" pitchfork brandishing baying mob are out demanding the boy gets a free water feature, the manager and staff member are sacked and the range needs to pay compensation and contribute to an autism charity to atone for this.

The shops might be open longer then a Monday to Friday 9 till 5 but the people that deal with customer service issues at head office will work office hours. I've worked for several high street retailers and it's been the case for all of them.
